A Taste of Addis Ababa in the Heart of Dallas, TX City Coffee is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm, attentive service that makes you feel right at home. The customer service is consistently excellent—friendly, genuine, and fast without feeling rushed. The star of the menu for me is their macchiato, rich, smooth, and crafted with the same care and depth of flavor you’d find in Addis Ababa. It’s rare to find a cup this good outside Ethiopia, but City Coffee nails it. Their cakes are equally impressive: always fresh, not overly sweet, and perfectly balanced. Every bite takes me back to traditional cafĂ©s back home. Breakfast here is another highlight, simple, fresh, and flavorful. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a slow morning, City Coffee delivers a top-tier experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic flavors, warm hospitality, and a consistently satisfying experience. Dallas is lucky to have this place!

There are many bakeries in the Dallas Metropolitan area. This bakery was next to a restaurant that we ate at for lunch so we decided to try it. The bakery was nice. There is not a lot of seating so beware if you are with a large group and/or family. The desserts looked good. I chose an Oreo cheesecake and a coffee cake. They were good but the other bakeries that I have been to are better. The Oreo cheesecake didn't taste like the traditional cheesecakes that I have been accustomed to having. They were not overly sweet and plenty moist. The coffee cake which had a mild coffee flavor melts in your mouth.

This place is very different, different food along with different people. Everyone was very welcoming and so was the environment. There was a small language barrier but that wasn’t an issue. I asked for something cold and they said they only had soda which was cold. They made an exception of making ICE COFFEE, which was very tasty. Their food is very tasty and good for your buck. They also serve bread which is very filling for $.50 each. Need a place that’s different and good for your money? This is the one.

Wonderful! Fantastic coffee, great food! My wife and I went for an early lunch - we started with coffees (@2.5) and two sambusas (@3). She got the Fata (10) and I got the Tsom Fir Fir (17) (I have no idea why my fir fir was $17 - injeera stir-fried with a jalapeno, some onion, and some spices - served on injeera - maybe a dollar's worth of ingredients?) My wife's Fata was bread stir-fried with the same things - another dollar's worth of ingredients. I doubt there will be a next time - though I really like this place a lot, I despise greed. If you try them out, stick to the sambusas and deserts - don't forget the coffee. You might ask what the locals are eating when they come - Desta is...

The food was okay, but the billing process really bothered me. I ordered Fuul with Tuna Egg and a piece of rum cake, which should've cost around $18 or less, but the bill came to $22.85. It seems like they added a tip without asking and then requested another tip on the receipt. To make matters worse, they didn’t provide an itemized or customer copy, so I missed the double tipping and ended up paying an additional tip on top of $22.85. This was frustrating, especially given the poor service. Okay, I should’ve checked everything beforehand, but that's not how it should work, right? I feel like they tricked me. Be cautious when dining here—they’re not transparent with...
