As many others have said, IF I could I would give this hotel a ZERO.
First, let me state that the room was booked for us - we arrived with a confirmation number and were told that they could not find our reservation. After an hour of rude "service" we finally had things semi worked out and we went to our room. Upon arriving in the room, we found a queen size bed and a recliner. This would have been fine but there were 2 adults plus a 5 year old and there was truly not space for 3 of us to sleep - we actually took turns sleeping in the recliner.
We had the space for 4 nights and stayed there as little as possible as it was crowded, dirty, and quite frankly we did not feel safe. The final straw was when we needed to extend for a night. I did everything on my end and again had a confirmation number that they could not find.
Please understand that my child was at Medical City Dallas for a surgery and we could not drive back home directly after discharge. I arrived back at the hotel hoping to shower and rest for a quick hour to be told that they had no communication about extending our stay and that ultimately I had about an hour until checkout. I explained to the EXTREMELY RUDE girl at the front desk that this should all be worked out and she said, "I can't find it and it is not my job to".
I proceeded to my room to figure things out and my key had been deactivated (prior to checkout time). I went back to the front desk and overhead the same girl and HER MANAGER (REBECCA) talking RUDELY about ME and the fact that this was not their problem or job. I called them out on this and asked that they reactivate my key so that I could get my things.
Upon arriving back in my room, the manager, Rebecca, called my room to tell me that they were not talking about me and then reiterated that this was not their job to figure out and ultimately I had 30 minutes to get out. Meanwhile, my husband was calling that my child was being discharged from the hospital and we had no place to stay - THANK GOODNESS there are SO MANY cleaner, reasonably priced hotels in the area!!
I packed our things and left. I asked for a receipt to show that my card had not been charged anything and promptly left to go pick up my child. I not sure why they do a hold when you pay in advance because there is NOTHING to charge to your room. Nonetheless, there was a $75 charge on my card and I had to dispute this with the credit card company.
I do not write reviews often and I have worked in the customer service industry for close to 30 years. One thing that I have learned is that there will always be kinks in the systems but they can be handled with fairness, kindness, and grace. This staff was NONE of these things - they were by FAR the rudest, most unprofessional staff I have ever...
Read moreI and my boyfriend have stayed here for a month; the room was clean and the location was great. They have a free laundry and dryer. Everything was great, but the customer service was so terrible. The reservation was under my name, and two days before I left, I did ask the front desk if my boyfriend could check out by himself and if there was any form to sign or notice because I had to go back to Miami earlier. The staff said I did not have to sign anything, just check out before 11am. In the evening, I and my boyfriend came and asked one more time to make sure I didn't have to sign anything. We met the same staff, and she said the same thing. A day before we left, I and my boyfriend came a third time (with another staff member) to ask the same thing about the deposit. We deposited it in cash, so she said we could take the full amount back after checkoutand no property was damaged. I thought everything was ok until I just landed in Miami, and my boyfriend called me to tell me that the front desk did not give the deposit back. She said she was the manager (Black, long hair, fat), and she lied that she’d talked to me 3 times, and she was sure that I was not staying with anyone. BUT THE STAFF I TALKED TO WAS NOT HER. My boyfriend told her that he would call me to confirm, and then she just stayed in the back. Until I called the front desk number, and she told me I had to write an email to confirm. The police came too. Writing an email was not a big problem. I understand that I have to inform, but I asked 3 times, 2 different staff members, and they said the same thing, so it’s very annoying. Hope the staff in this property are...
Read moreCandlewood suites actually disappointed me this time. I reserved the room by phone because I tried online for a special rate for work but that rate was much higher. By phone they had the lower rate which doesn't make any sense to me. But to get that rate they had to put me in a handicapped room, which I am not. Check-in was 3pm and I indicated on my reservation that I would arrive between 12 and 3pm. I arrived at 4:10pm that day, and was told my room wasn't ready! Several other people who reserved rooms when I did for the same work function had their rooms ready when we all arrived together. I finally got my room at 430, and the clerk at the front gave me some rewards points for my troubles but I personally didn't think it helped. In the room, I noted that the AC was set to 64 but it never really got very cold but it wasn't uncomfortable. The shower was a walk-in one and water spattered all over the floor when I showered with the handheld shower head. The traffic could be heard all night long and I didn't sleep well on the first floor. The phone didn't work and you couldn't call directly room to room even though the phone directions explicitly said you could. I had a colleague in another room and knew exactly what room she was in and told the front desk her room number and name. The front desk told me it was a different room and different name but that wasn't true. The colleague couldn't hear me over the phone because there was nothing but static. Update your phones, and have rooms ready when you say the check in time is supposed to be, candlewood! The bed was very comfortable was...
