Nobody writes a review for a souvenir shops unless it’s a REALLY bad experience. All the poor reviews are 100% true, not fake. Which is really unfortunate since this location has a unique advantage of being able to apply any print design to any shirt for their customers. So instead of being smart business owners with this unique service, they’d rather swindle their customers to make an extra $10-$20 and lose business. I’ve experienced some whacky customer service, but this joint takes the gold medal. The older lady was trying to sell my daughter a sweatshirt like a door salesmen trying to get into your house to close the sale. Um we literally came there to pick out a shirt. The lady WOULD NOT leave my daughter alone. In the meantime, anything that I glanced at made the old lady pounce on me to buy. This went on for 20 straight minutes of borderline customer service harassment (if there’s such a thing). My daughter eventually was able to concentrate and find a sweatshirt (with me buffering the lady). Lady says “everything is on sale!”, get any print you want, “only takes 10 seconds!” We approached the counter where a man (I’m assuming her son) was working. The price tag was $39.99, I’m thinking probably $35 cuz “everything on sale!” The man presses the print on, and it looks GREAT! Then the lady starts telling me to pay, cash or card, I said card and then she’s being pushy to give him my card??? I asked the man what my total is and he says $54.91. lol what? I honestly would have paid $65 if they left us alone and were straight forward with their pricing. The man said it’s $10 for the print. I looked at the lady and told her “all you said was it takes 10 seconds, and nothing about $10”. She said she did but she really did not mention it once. Complete liar. Plus I thought “everything was on sale”?? I said I’d pay the sticker price of $39.99, man said no, says $45. Oh boy, here we go. I decline and he says, “what, you think you going to get shirt across the street for $10???” I replied with, “you don’t talk to customers like that” and my daughter and I kindly declined the sweatshirt and left. Again, they have great stuff, so just make sure to confirm price AND VERIFY how much the shady man runs your card for! Or go in for a great visit if free entertainment of how NOT to run a business. Again, I would’ve paid $65 for the sweatshirt if it was a straightforward non harassing swindle experience. But this made for a GREAT vacation story!! We stayed with family you...
Read morei literally never have bad things to say or feel the need to leave reviews but this was such a bad experience i had to. i was on a walk on atlantic and stopped by to look at the cute dresses (now that I read the reviews i see that other women made the same mistake). i was the only customer there. as i was looking at dresses and chatting on the phone through my airpods the man who i guess runs the store came outside and was just kind of staring at me in an off-putting way, like he was keeping an eye on me or something. when i would move on from looking at a dress to another rack he would aggressively tidy the rack i was just looking at as if he was mad that i was looking at the dresses. eventually he went inside. when i went inside (still on the phone) holding a dress i was interested in buying, he literally went over to the speaker and turned it up so it was BLASTING ed sheeran like he was trying to get rid of me or something. again, i was the only customer in this establishment. after he turned up the music i left the store without buying the dress i wanted because the experience made me so uncomfortable. as i was leaving he followed me out and again started aggressively tidying the rack where i put the dress and yelled something after me (luckily i couldn't hear him because i was on the phone, but i could tell it wasn't nice.). what a creepy and unfortunate experience. i genuinely thought the dress was cute but the customer service was so bad i felt too uncomfortable to even buy it. im surprised this place is still in business at all. after reading the comments, i guess im not alone and this is just how they treat people...
Read moreThis must have been one of the worst customer service expierences i have had. I am genuinely so frustrated about what happened. Me and my friends were walking and saw this adorable surf shop with some cute dresses on sale. we all decided to pick one out and see if we liked it. the second I walked into the shop a lady came over and greeted me. i told her i didn’t need any help and i went to go pay. this older lady at the front kept bombarding me about saying how the price was 17$ and the. saying i got it at a good deal for 19. 99$. i then said “i know right” then when i went to pay she said “21.36 is your total” knowing i had just about the right amount i payed, then my card declined. i read the recipet and there was a service fee. i honestly didn’t care much but wondered what service they provided. maybe putting my item in the bag? but whatever. then i caught her picking up a necklace and almost trying to sneak it in the bag (or that’s what it looked like) i then grabbed my bag and walked out. i walked back in so my friends could pay (they were in the fitting room) i asked them if i could come in and they said yes. then, this lady kept walking into my friends and they kept asking to get some privacy. and then again, while they were paying, she said the same price “21.36” and we checked the receipt and same service fee. i get it, some people need to make a living but it’s kinda a coincidence how she didn’t turn the screen around to see my EXACT total. and lastly, she kept asking to hold our dresses up...
