Today was the 2nd time I’ve been to the express location and both times have been god awful. The first time I ordered from here I called ahead because I had a large order for a party that I was hosting for my grandpa. We ordered almost 500 dollars worth of food and the guy who took my order over the phone was extremely rude. When I got to the location to pick up my food the big guy with the glasses who I’m assuming took my order over the phone just had this nasty stand off type of attitude and told me I should have ordered at the other location because my order was large.. lol sorry I thought they’d be happy to have made the money plus we tipped like 80 bucks. He had no hospitality what so ever. The next time I stopped in on my way to the movies to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. We just wanted a quick sandwich and since we live in walking distance I figured we’d order here. Once again the big guy with glasses took our order and was again very rude and had no hospitality TOWARDS US.. that’s when I realized he was super friendly towards other customers. Three other customers there were greeted on the way in and out but they were white and we are interracial. Upon leaving he made eye contact with me and did not say ONE WORD but the white guy who left just before us was thanked for coming in and invited back. I don’t know if the owners are racist as well or just the help they hire but I’m assuming if they hired this racist boy then they must share similar attributes ? Anyways.. we will NOT be returning.. not to mention our food was disgusting and dry. Honestly, I could have looked past the dry food but racism I will NOT tolerate in any way. This boy needs to be let go as he is clearly the face of your company and if he’s treating us this way I can only imagine how he’s treating other...
Read moreWe order from Sazio Express at least once a month - and dine at Sazio's regular restaurant (Atlantic near 2nd) several times monthly. We had a terrible experience this evening. After an hour, our pizza still hadn't arrived. I called the restaurant and were told they didn't know how to get to our address. First, they never called. Secondly, I explained in detail how to get to our house - it is on a main road and pretty easy to find. The story continues. We spoke to the driver twice and to Brianna (at the restaurant) three times. We were told the driver was new and didn't know his way around. We saw the driver pass our house once. I ran outside to wave him down if he passed again - which he did. I stood on the curb waiving and flailing while he passed in the turn lane right next to where I was standing. I called and spoke with Brianna prior to the driver's last pass around the house and told her I would give them a few minutes. After he passed again (while waiving and flailing to get his attention), I called Brianna back and told her to cancel our order and not charge us for it. By that point, we didn't want a pizza that had been cooked so long ago and tossled around in a car for that long. Rather than be polite and apologize, she hung up on me.
After trying Sazio Express' number back a few times with no answer, I called and spoke with the manager (Dustin) at Sazio's main restaurant and he was very professional and promised to ensure I wouldn't be charged. We will stick with the main Sazio's going forward and use DeliveryDudes if we ever want anything delivered fresh and on-time.
The funny ending - about 10 minutes after all of this, the deliver guy showed up with the pizza he had been driving around with for an hour and wanted me to take it and sign the credit card slip....
Read moreSynopsis: Tasty food for here or to go, not as expensive as other places nearby, good selection of food styles, pizza thoroughly acceptable, available by the slice.
Long version: We didn't want the high prices and formality of a sit down restaurant for dinner, and our group couldn't agree on a cuisine. Sazio was the perfect answer! So close to our hotel, there was something for everyone and it was all good. My Mediterranean shrimp wrap was tasty and light. My 7 year old had the pizza but the slice, and enjoyed both the Sicilian and Neopolitan pizza styles. My nephew tucked into his ample Philly cheesesteak (which, while not remarkably authentic, still looked and smelled very tasty.) Others had hot grilled chicken sandwiches and enjoyed them.
This food wasn't cheap by our standards but this place is a block from the beach so that's part of what you're paying for.
They appeared to do a very brisk business in takeout; in fact, they appeared surprised that we intended to stay to eat. The five of us took up two of their 6 or so tiny tables. It looked like people often stand and eat along the wall, since there's a standing height counter on the far side of the space.
The service was good, you order and pay at the counter and then wait. They delivered it to our table. The hardworking young men who manned the place were polite and friendly, and grass obviously didn't grow...
