This place was not bad, but unfortunately what ruined it for me and my group was a handsy older man and the bartender. A group of friends and I went out for someone’s birthday. We went in to this place after going to a couple of different bars, my wife and a good friend of mine (two women) went to the bar to order water and drink for themselves when this creep dude started talking to them and putting his hands on their shoulders, their lower back and his hand seemed to stray down a bit. The girls just kinda played this off and took a couple of steps back. He then proceeded to do this again, by this point I had noticed them trying to get away from him so I walked up to them. I did not say anything to this a-hole but rather walked up to my wife and said something. He cuts me off and tells me to walk away from them and to keep 1-2 ft distance from them. Now I’m getting annoyed, not only does he not stop but he has to start saying something to me. I told him this is my wife and I’ll be as close to her as I want!!! The bartender now chimes in and tells me he is a regular and I should leave him alone. By this time the drunk old man is telling me I’m insecure cause I’m worried about him hitting on my wife. It is not insecure to try and get a man from putting his hands on her, but whatever. The bartender who I thought would politely tell everyone to just go back to their night all of the sudden a says you know what get out of here! You’re not welcome. I was so surprised that he’d prefer to kick out 12 people (spending lots of money)over one creepy drunk old man clearly groping women. In Today’s day in age, with everything that is happening on the news you’d think people would be careful about who and how they’re touching people. Be very careful of this place!! It caters to drunk men that like to put hands on women’s in their 20s and then start fights if someone merely walks up to them to simply stand by them so they’re not getting groped. I was never rude to him or the bartender, I never even said anything to him other than that is my wife and I will stand as close to her as I want. This guy clearly does this knowing that the bartender has his back and will defend him when the time comes. I could’ve called the cops and made things much worse but decided to get out of there and just go on with our night. It is outrageous that we had to put up with this and instead of getting apologies we get kicked out like we’re a group of rowdy drunk college kids. I am 33 years old and my wife is 28, we were in no way rude nor acted out of place. Stay away from this establishment that caters to creepy men that don’t seem to understand what harassment means and has bartenders that would rather this go on because I’m guessing he tips well. In hindsight I now kind of wish I had gotten the police...
Read moreLet's start with the calamari appetizer, which was a real highlight of the meal. The calamari was plump and fried to perfection, with a crispy coating that wasn't too heavy or greasy. The squid was tender and flavorful, and it came with a zesty dipping sauce that complemented it perfectly. Overall, it was an excellent start to the meal and definitely worth trying.
Moving on to the entree, I highly recommend the blackened mahi-mahi sandwich. The fish was cooked to perfection with a flavorful blackened seasoning and a delicious flavor that explodes in your mouth that wasn't overpowering. The sandwich was loaded with fresh lettuce, tomato, and red onion, and it came on a perfectly toasted bun. The combination of flavors and textures was just right, and the portion size was generous.
But the sandwich isn't the only standout on the menu. The Hideaway Bar and Grill also offers a range of other delicious dishes, from burgers and salads to seafood and steak. Whatever your taste, you're sure to find something to love here.
In fact, the Hideaway Bar and Grill Philly cheese steak was voted the bestn Delray Beach in 2019. This is an impressive accolade and speaks to the quality of their food and the expertise of their chefs.
There is also a cigarette machine available for smokers who wish to purchase tobacco products to use outside.
In addition to the delicious food and great drinks, the Hideaway Bar and Grill also offers a fun and lively atmosphere. The pool table and dart boards are popular with patrons, and the well-stocked bar means there's always something new to try. Whether you're looking for a casual night out with friends or a place to unwind after work, the Hideaway Bar and Grill is a great choice.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the Hideaway Bar and Grill to anyone looking for great food, drinks, and fun in...
Read moreI was briskly walking against the late night chilling wind in search of a beer and a human being to communicate with. I had 'given up' on the direction I was headed. I heard some good music coming from across the street, but not from any particular store-front or bar, , the life-saving beat was flowing out of a cool-looking , well lit alley. I had all reasons to 'trust the unknown' in this case. I was so anxious to get inside, I didnt read the business'name or the artsy , colorful standing chalkboard specialty ad at the entrance. Three 'SWEEEET' females were exiting as I approached the door, they were just coming out to chat together at one of the outside tables. Once inside, UH OH!, I thought 'right away' scoping out the bar with quick glances of the decor and environment. Instantly - an easy excuse for me to 'get out of the house' - anytime. ALOT of the time : MORE -meeting awesome people, MORE enjoying my favorite beverage, MORE 'letting go' & 'letting this place' help me to relax my help my mind to play. Sean , the Bartender was friendly and fast. Jose and his precious wife, effortlessly became my new friends. Jose - the Artist, Singer, Great Family Man, an excellent listener and a Long Time ( 7 years ) patron to the Delray Hideaway. As Arnold said, " I'LL...
