My husband bought me a package of 3 classes and 2 massages while I was pregnant. I’m giving 3 stars because one of the massages I had was great, the other massage was mediocre, the prenatal yoga classes were fine, and the Mommy and Me yoga class was very disappointing.
The Mommy and Me yoga class description on their website shows a picture of a woman doing a pose with a baby, so I assumed that we would be doing that or similar poses in the class, but we did not do any such poses and there was minimal interaction with baby during the class. Instead, the class started 5 minutes late, and then it was 45 minutes of yoga for mom while your baby lies on a blanket in front of you and you’re supposed to ignore your baby. Then the last 5-10 minutes was singing “You Are My Sunshine” and “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” and wiggling baby’s arms and legs. I was very disappointed in how little interaction there was with baby during the class, and I would not recommend it if you want to actually interact with your baby in a Mommy and Me class.
I was also disappointed with their amenities. Parking in the area is terrible, and while they say that they have some parking spaces available in the garage, I was never able to get one of them, even when I went for a massage on a Sunday when there were no classes happening. Their website also says that they have private rooms that can be used to breastfeed if your baby gets hungry during class, so I hoped to use one before the Mommy and Me class. However, when I asked the receptionist if there was somewhere private I could feed my baby, she just offered the main waiting area, and during the class there was no mention of these private rooms, so I still don’t know if they actually exist. It’s also the only yoga studio that I’ve ever been to that doesn’t have it’s own bathroom, you have to use a public bathroom in another part of the building. Considering that the target clientele is pregnant women, a bathroom in the studio seems like it should be...
Read moreI no longer needed my appointment for my infant because his issue had resolved itself and when I told them I wasn’t going to come to the appointment they told me they would charge me a $50 cancellation fee. This would be fine if I had been told there would be one but they never mentioned a possible fee when I scheduled the appointment and it was nowhere on the emails I received. I’m not made of money and I was trying to save by not taking in my son when it wasn’t necessary. This company was recommended by family members from a different state so I never looked at their website for the cancellation fee which apparently it’s “everywhere on the website and emails” which is false about the emails. Both my family member and Chiropractor here do not have cancellation fees of which the receptionist said anyone they get recommendations from do and that I'm the dummy. Apparently you don’t need to warn people about taking their money even if they don’t give you services. With a regular Dr. It would be a no brainer but absolutely not with a Chiropractor. In the end they charged me anyways and because I complained they put me on a do...
Read moreDisappointed. Went to a prenatal class on Saturday. 2/11 and the instructor had the heat on (we asked him to turn it down), the pace was way to fast for pregnant ladies (was a regular yoga class pace), he was asking us to twist deeper (not advised in any other prenatal class), and was advising students to get deeper into the stretch (also not advised in other prenatal classes due to the hormone relaxin). Lastly, no modifications were offered, and going up and down so much in a heated room left me dizzy. I modified everything and did not feel safe in this class. First and last time. I'll stick with Sunny Isle Yoga, they know how to do prenatal yoga that makes moms feel safe and empowers them during their pregnancy.
Response to owners comment: I didn't make a mistake. I don't know the person's name or how the person identifies, but the person was not a female. I paid 35 dollars for the class, so no it isn't a mistake, check your system. My name is in there for that class and you can find out the name of the person that led the class. Take responsibility for a poor led prenatal class. Shame on you. Pregnant ladies...
