Beachside Inn — Hotel in Destin

I definitely do not recommend this motel, in my opinion it’s overpriced, busy, loud (don’t plan on sleeping in), has bugs, parking at night is terrible, the staff are inconsiderate, and the limited beach area is crowded. BEWARE: this is not just a motel it is a motel/restaurant, so starting early in the morning food trucks will be offloading in the parking lot with their back-up horns, unloading and offloading; the parking lot will be pack due to the evening dinner crowd, so already limited parking will be frustrating. The work staff and their contractors were running around at the break of dawn making tons of noise. Definitely request that they do not give you a room next to the kitchen because the banging/clanging of the kitchen staff making early morning breakfast sound like they’re coming through the wall. The staff and contractors were making excessive noise early in the morning and when I told the receptionist she replied, ”they were probably just loving and enjoying life” as if I was a jerk for saying something. The room was nice but, my room had roaches (see proof: pic & video). The best and most anticipated aspect of the motel was the close proximity to the beach, but the beach area is very crowded and cramped; the hotel to the right has a sign prohibiting anyone other than their guest from going on that side, the immediate area was packed with pay chairs and umbrellas, so you have to walk way down to the left or sit in the crowd to find some space (and this was October). Pros: Very clean, comfortable beds, huge TV's, nice coffee maker, and microwave. Huge bathroom area.

Close to the beach. Let it be known they aren't right on the beach but a very short walk, like simply across the street, so if you are expecting ocean front view this isn't it.

Nice little cafe that is attached that makes great coffee, and has plenty of tables for outside sitting. Also had some locals playing guitar outside which was cool. They have a bar there as well to get you going. Very very helpful and friendly guest relations staff. Use the app they have as well it was helpful.

Cons: We stayed on the bottom floor right next to the office. They gave us an adjoining room and it was extremely loud, the walls are paper thin and you could hear every person that walked by that was talking. The delivery drivers for the restaurant showed up at 630 in their semis and don't get me started on the construction crew that was there at 730 firing up their saws and drills. Very annoying. So request a room on the back side or west side of the property unless you are a night owl and early riser otherwise your sleep will be interrupted. Lastly not really a con but don't forget to put your service placard on the window so you get full service cleaning. We didn't see it at first and the room wasn't really cleaned that well the first night but after that it was perfect.

My boyfriend and I went to the Seabreeze jazz festival in Panama City Beach. After staying in a resort style condo in Panama City Beach that was very expensive, but less than desirable, with a 70s vibe even when it came to the T.V. in the room; no flat screen to say the least!...Furthermore to our surprise there were roaches!!.. This was so disappointing. We decided to stay longer in the Destin area so we booked a stay in another location which was ok and located in the bay area...Upon getting ready to checkout to head back home to Georgia we both were wanting one more night next to the ocean in Florida!...So we started looking around. Everything on the beach was too expensive and not worth the price and other sites seemed less than desirable...So when we came across Beachside Inn we were very skeptical to say the least because the price and location sounded too good to be true..Upon arriving the front desk clerk and manager were very nice and helpful. We asked to see a room and they were very accommodating!..The room was gorgeous!..Very clean and quaint. There was a huge flat screen T.V. with a DVD player. There was added security on the door with a press number pad for entry. There is a nice restaurant connected along with beach bikes to rent located right out front.
