First off the picture of the hotel needs to be updated on the IHG website- this pic is years old and most likely reflects the property when it first opened. It isn’t even the same color anymore.||1. Upon driving up my teen stated that she was absolutely not staying here. The pool is very run down with debris in it. It is small and doesn’t look up-kept. This is not what we have come to expect from IHG properties. We are rewards members and stay at IHG properties around 10-20 times a year.||2. The whole hotel was dirty. The floors needed to be mopped and had sticky stuff and dirt all over them, especially in the elevator. I gave them grace- maybe house cleaning was sick. By day 2 it was still there. The check in desk is missing paint on the wall- it looks run down and needs touch up paint. It screams days inn- not IHG with an IHG price point.||3. Breakfast was a smaller spread than what most Holiday inn expresses have. My major issue is the egg white omelet was not an egg white omelette- it was the ham and cheese. It doesn’t seem like a big deal until you consider reglious and dietary needs- some people are allergic to milk and don’t eat meat. I asked the breakfast attendant if it was labeled correctly and she very rudely answered yes. Had I consumed this I could have had an allergic reaction. ||4. Every employee that I encountered was rude and seemed put off. Upon checking in the attendant was clearly sick, kept sniffing snot back up her nose but was not wearing a mask. ||||In conclusion I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Panama City. It has an amazing resort feel, gorgeous pool area with a lazy river and is actually on the beach. It is also the same price. Had we known the condition of this property we would have stayed in PCB and driven in to Destin daily for my Daughter’s tournament. ||I would suggest IHG quality control look into hiring new management- it clearly isn’t being run or up-kept to its potential and clearly doesn’t reflect...
Read moreThe location of this hotel is perfect! 10 minute walk to the beach, sidewalks the whole way. It’s walking distance to shopping and convenience stores as well. There’s a pool, but the water is WARM because there’s no shade so it’s baking in the sun all day. Not a bad thing, just something good to know. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff was excellent. My main complaint is about the front desk staff….they seemed less than thrilled about their jobs in general. There’s a sign in the room claiming you can call the front desk for forgotten toiletries. When I did this, the lady said I could come to the desk to get it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking they have to keep the desk manned, but when I walked up there with my 2 young kids, there were two ladies up there. So someone could have walked it over to us (we were on the first floor). At check in, I forgot my sunglasses at the counter. Instead of bringing them to me, they kept the glasses at the desk, probably hoping I’d forget them. There was no attempt made by them to return them to me and they waited until I walked up there to ask if they had seen them. When we were at the pool, my husband went to the desk to get towels and instead of handing them to him, they pointed to where they were for him to retrieve them himself. They just seemed like they could’ve been a bit more hospitable to their guests. Also the ice machine on the first floor was out of order, so we had to walk up the stairs to the 3rd floor for ice, only to discover it was out of ice on the last day. The walls are also paper thin. We were on the first floor and could hear the moment the kids upstairs were up as well as other kids next to us crying or laughing. I have kids as well, so it didn’t necessarily bother me, but just something to note if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay. Overall great hotel, could just use better staff at...
Read moreHello good afternoon. I booked a king suite room for November 12th at holiday inn express suites of Destin Florida. The rooms blinds were broken and did not work and were forced into having a handicap accessible room. I told the front desk and they informed me that there were no more king bed rooms available it was an amenity that I was looking forward to. so they had to move us to a double queen room which is far from what I wanted for my stay. There was bugs that we found in the bathtub. It didn’t bother me as much for the bugs in the tub that I could literally just wash down the drain but my girlfriend on the other hand was disgusted! I was planning to book a second night before any of these issues , but due to not having the room that I asked for originally I decided to leave the next day. It really put a damper on my what was supposed to be a care free vacation. I was told that I would be compensated for the issues… I was told by the manager that I would receive 10,000 points for my troubles. I have not received the points or any emails explaining the issue with confirmation that it would happen. To stay at this hotel was 95$ a night I intended on staying two night so it would have been a total of just shy of 200$ for my 2 night stay. I either want my money back for the room or would really appreciate it if I was given the points back for the two nights I intended to stay there which would have been a total of 22,950 points. I have not written my review yet for my stay. How this is handled will most definitely reflect on how that review goes. With all of this said the staff at this hotel was very nice and seemed to try their best to assist us given the situation and circumstances. I would just really appreciate it if we were compensated for the issues and that you make this right so we can enjoy giving this another chance in the near future. Thank you...
