We stayed here four nights. It was a very nice time. We showed up about fifteen minutes after closing due to an accident on the road into town, but we were surprised to find staff still in the building and even if they weren't they had already set up a welcome packet even though we hadn't completed our reservation yet. We were pleasantly surprised and very happy with the experience. The grounds are very nice. There were geese by the pond. The river runs right next to the campground. There's a playground (although extremely tall) for the kids. There's even putt putt. Someone guided us to our site when arrived. Our site wasn't pull-through, but because no one was behind us when we arrived we were able to pull-through. They come and pickup your trash every morning. We were very please with the amenities. The best part was that it's 5 minutes to one of the Rocky Mountain visitor centers and 7 minutes to the entrance.

Other than the fantastic views of the surrounding mountains and the proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park, this campground isn't much. Very tight spaces. Too many barking dogs. Staff can be efficient but not very friendly. You can easily tell when one of the office staff is having a bad day. One of the ladies got downright rude with my wife while she was paying for something. She said they don't give Good Sam discount for an extra overnight visitor but just two days earlier they had. Got very indignant that my wife would even ask. Lucky I wasn't there as I would have set her straight. I dont care if you're having a bad day or dont like your job, you should never get an attitude with a paying customer. Definitely on the higher end for RV parks. Again some of that is due to location. Laundromat was very nice but again on the higher end. We will definitely look elsewhere if we return to the area.

We stayed here while exploring the Estes Park area, great location with friendly staff. Facilities are clean and cared for. On site laundry was great for us. The campground wifi coverage was awesome (not always the case) speeds were usable (4.5 down / .5 up). Verizon internet was 50 down / .5 up. The sites are not "large" but fit our truck and camper ok. We were close to our neighbors at the back end of the site (this was OK for us). The campground is on the BIG Thompson River and has some fishable spots (Co license required). They also have a trout pond. The kids (and us) LOVED this. We caught several fish with ease and it made for a fun experience. The pool was not overly warm, it was also 74*f outside air temp. I don't think Estes is a "swimming destination" - we didn't come here to swim... Overall we felt safe, enjoyed our time, and would absolutely stay here again on a return trip to Estes Park.

We booked our stay and everything seemed fine until we arrived. The pool and the hot tub were closed, and the fishing lake was extremely small. Once we checked in we added a few guests to our stay (because their arrangements fell through) which they charged us for and stated that everything was fine. A couple days into the stay an older female employee (which I will keep her name private) got upset when my mother stopping by in her vehicle to have a quick breakfast with us before heading out to site see. The older female employee called me and sternly told me to respond to the office immediately. When I arrived at the office a short time later the same female was shaking mad and in front of three other quests in the office accused me and wife and stealing from them because the guests that we added a few days before had a small trailer attached to their vehicle when they arrived, and I guess we failed to inform them of that so they said we were hiding the trailer and stealing from them. The women continued to yell at us in front of the other customers and demanded that we were taking advantage of them and that my guests had over stayed their welcome. The women was so angry so refused to look at our receipt that showed that we paid for extra guests and continued to belittle us in front of the other guests (putting her hand in front of my wife's face so that she couldn't respond). I then told the women tp charge us with whatever she thought we stole (because we are not thieves) and she finally came to a negative $16 balance that we owed. I quickly paid the extra $16 on top of the $80 that we originally paid to add the guests before. After all of this the next few days the women and the rest of the maintenance crew on their electric golf carts continued to drive by and give us dirty looks. Because of this we left a day early and felt that we had been treated...

Management and Staff: Friendly at first, but if you accidentally break one of their strict rules, they are very unprofessional and treat you like a criminal. They police the area and bother you even when you have done nothing wrong. Kinda kept us on edge the entire 7 days.

Cost: Already a little on the price side to stay, they nickel and dime to death.... Over 2 people costs $5 PER person Fishing costs $8.50 PER PERSON- EACH DAY Guests for a few hours! $5 for the car plus $5 PER PERSON + tax! It's costed $27.50 for our friends to come eat dinner. Late check out: Normally $25, but crowded so wouldn't allow it.

Scenery: Beautiful

Activities: Fishing, playground, swimming, games. Although they claim to have activitie room and Putt Putt golf, they do not.

Location: Close to Estes Park, but not walkable. Although there are a few shops and restaurants in walking distance.

Garbage: No dumpsters and they make you pick up garbage. They tell you leave your trash out at 8-10am and 4-6pm, but have to pick up because of bears. Personally, they way they nickel and dimmed, I just think they don't want to pay for for a secure garbage bin. We had to keep out garbage from dinner in the camper through the night.

At night: Pitch black. No lights. Interesting because they threatened bears. So of course, we were scarred to death to walk to the restrooms.

Laundry: $2.50 washer and 2.00 dryer. 10:00pm closed

Wifi: Not good even on slow day. I overheard the lady tell new guest it was crowded tonight so may not work well.We were here for 7 days. 4 of the days there was barely anyone here and it still didn't work well. It was very intermittent and wouldn't work on anything strong like movies or Google maps.

We have to come to Colorado for a week every year. This was first year of that. We will not be back next year. Found some other beautiful...

The campsites are nice The manager needs to learn how to treat his customers. My dog was sick because of the long trip and he went outside without his harness on for 2 minutes because he had to go outside all of the sudden so I let him out and followed him with his harness and as I was going to step out and go put it on him this dude shows up at my front door and said you need to put his harness on and you need to do it right now Did not introduce himself or even say who we was until I said I was getting it now. Then he repeated himself and said by the way I’m the manager here very rudely and I told him I heard him the first time sir I am glad you got somewhere in life running a RV park and you are like in your 30s I bet you are proud of who you have become in life. Good job. Usually mostly everywhere we travel it is usually retirement people who manager these parks not someone like you. Save your time and don’t stay here. Front desk was friendly and the gentlemen with long beard who picks up the trash and works at the park was very nice but I can tell you the manager is on a power trip and has no customer service skills at all. Was going to stay another week but decided to go to Koa and it was 100 percent better service and a heck of a lot cheaper Also the spruce lake park was the most expense in town by 15-20 a night so you expect the best but not here. Look st the reviews about the park. Manager is 100 percent the problem. Everyone in town for RV parks were completely full that is why I stayed there but now I see why they had several sites open I should have known better so it is my fault. Bottom line go to koa. By the way the manager let his dog out the next morning without his harness. Remember dude rules apply to you to. I have it on video if the owner would like to see...
