Intro:
This place is amazing. I say that as someone who has been coming to Estes Park for family vacations since I was born and my family has been coming since the early 70s. We went from barebones tent camping in RMNP, to a used Starcraft pop-up, to finally staying in some motels, "resorts," and cabins -- I've seen a lot of Estes.
The establishment I grew up staying at came under new ownership a few years back and the "warm fuzzies" are gone. The personal touches and one particular employee (passed away) that kept us coming back and loyal for years are gone. So I decided to branch out and explore other options. I'm glad I did. That's how I discovered The Rustic Acre.
I found The Rustic Acre on VRBO and quickly bounced over to their direct website. I'm a fan of saving money. From their easy to navigate website and booking system, to the pre-visit emails that include guides to the property you've booked -- it's a breeze.
Service:
The outstanding service started before my arrival. I sent a couple of questions to the website email address and within 20 minutes, Brandon (Property Manager) reached out via phone to answer all of my questions and let me know to text or call him if there was anything else he could do.
I had some fairly particular requests that I totally expected to be unavailable (and I would've been fine with that) -- to my surprise, Brandon said "No big deal -- got it covered!" From asking for specific pictures of properties I was interested in, to accommodating a last minute delivery, Brandon was always able to help. He really shows a level of dedication that is above and beyond.
I had the privilege of meeting Brandon during my visit and he's even more amazing in person!
This is the type of service and treatment that keeps people coming back for generations and it's the kind of magic that no longer warms the place my family used to stay. It's heartwarming to find it again.
Amenities:
I wanted to have my space, but also have modern amenities available for some work I wanted to do during my visit. The Rustic Acre nailed that balance. This may be over the top for most, but my work requires that a fairly snappy internet connection be available should I need it.
I stayed in Mummy and Mt. Olympus and both had a dedicated physical router and were on isolated networks. In both Mummy and Mt. Olympus, this router was an Archer A6 (AC1200, WiFi 6, 802.11ax, 4x1Gb ethernet ports). I was hitting 550Mbps up/450Mbps down consistently over WiFi. Nerdsplain -- that's fast and the coverage area is more than you need. This was one more "above and beyond" spot at The Rustic Acre.
Both properties were extremely clean. Brandon takes a lot of pride in his work and it shows. Amazing coffee makers to smart TVs, sweet jacuzzis to fireplaces -- this place has you covered. The grill area (Viking grill!) is also in pristine shape and a great option to have. There wasn't anything additional I needed, but I did have few questions and Brandon was always a text away with a quick response.
I never felt like anyone was on top of me, but I knew there were community spaces and opportunities to socialize if I wanted.
Overall:
5 stars, 2 thumbs up, and an elbow slap. I can't wait to come back and I'm excited to see The...
Read moreMy wife and I felt really fortunate w/ our online lodging choice for our recent visit to Rocky Mountain National Park. The Rustic Acre proved to be an extremely comfortable and convenient place to stay while in Estes Park and for visiting RMNP. We stayed in Deer Mountain and found the quarters exceptionally clean and well appointed. Standouts we especially loved: the king-sized bed, the generous sized bathroom & shower w/ plenty of room for two to operate plus soft cushy bath towels, and the simply awesome Phillips fresh bean grinding coffee maker that produced killer 'joes. Nice high ceiling airy spaces inside and a wonderful second story private deck outside to chill on and enjoy a glass of wine while watching the setting sun's light change the face of the surrounding mountain view. We stayed in late July and despite daytime temps in the low '80s, Deer Mtn 1) cooled down quickly as night fell and 2) stayed cool during the day w/ the windows closed. Just adding all this as the unit has no a/c which was a big concern for me (coming from hot and humid KY) when I reserved it and was a very pleasant surprise that it was not a problem whatsoever! My wife and I elected not to cook breakfast in the morning in the well furnished kitchen (you'll see what I mean) and instead, ran across the road for Ziggi's breakfast sammies- they were just that good! And last but certainly not least, if you are ever in need of anything,- -anything, Brandon & Liz were...
Read moreMy husband and I just returned from 3 nights at The Rustic Acre. We stayed in the Prospect Miner’s Cabin and really enjoyed it. The location was excellent and we woke up early each morning and made it to the trailheads around 6 am. We ended up doing the hike to Ouzel Falls that was listed as a recommendation in their guide. I am so glad we did as it was in a part of the park i had never explored. The cabin was super clean and the bed was very comfortable. The only downside, and I can’t fault them for it, was that it was pretty warm in the evening as it doesn’t have AC. Joanne was gracious enough to bring us a cooler that definitely helped bring the bedroom down a few degrees and once the sun went down it was fine. The kitchen appeared to have everything you could need to cook with and had both a keurig and a coffee maker as well as coffee for both. The bathroom was clean and the shower was very spacious. I didn’t try the bath but it looked like it would be relaxing after a long day of adventuring. We had a great stay at The Rustic Acre and hope to come back some time. Thanks for the hospitality Jason and Joanne, you guys have a great...
