We originally booked the Ridgeline for our wedding block and rehearsal dinner and became initially nervous when they were bought by Holiday Inn shortly after. Our gut feeling was right and we should have canceled when we had the chance. It is safe to say that we were left extremely disappointed and really the only thing that went wrong with our wedding was dealing with Holiday Inn. The saving grace of the Holiday Inn was Daniel and the Catering Team. I have detailed out our review below:
-Rebecca was our group sales manager and communication was virtually absent. We were told that she was wearing multiple hats since the change of ownership. As a result, her management should be recognizing these issues and helping her. Instead, she was left to handle dozens of things and stretched too thin which caused us significantly more stress. I will add that when we finally met with her days before the event took place, she stepped up into high gear and created a terrific event for us. I have all the faith in the world that if Rebecca gets the opportunity to spread responsibility around a bit more that she could be very successful in her position.
-Room block and Front Desk: Tyson was the front desk manager. His attitude to hotel work is probably the same that I would have, which is why I don't work in hospitality. I brought our gift bags to the front desk and the clerks were unsure what to do so, they got Tyson from the back. He had a clear expression of annoyance and treated us as such. Furthermore, some of the gift bags were not handed out and I had to go bring them to people directly. We had multiple issues with room scheduling for some of our vendors, although I was told it was handled when on the phone with their staff, it was not. One of our vendors had to use their own credit card on an already paid for room and another vendor got assigned a room belonging to my bride's brothers resulting in them having to rebook a room when they arrived at a higher rate. As a result, I had to go to the front desk two more times because every time I was on the phone, I was told no manager was available and that the clerks could not resolve the problem without manager approval. Unfortunately, if we had more communication with Holiday Inn from the start, these issues would not have arose.
-We were initially told about a free shuttle at the Ridgeline which went away with Holiday Inn, which required us to rent a bus last minute from NoCo bus rentals which were great!
-Breakfast is just shy of $20 a plate but, the food is good, I was told!
-Daniel was the nicest and kindest clerk that we met. He was incredibly helpful and it was apparent he tried his hardest to help us with our issues. It is hotel work and it is not glamorous I imagine but, Daniel had knack for enjoying people and it showed. All compliments to him!
-The saving grace of the Holiday Inn was the catering. I wish I would have written down the names of each person from the catering department because they exemplified the definition of customer service and incredible food. Many of our guests commented how unique and incredible the food options were and the staff were attentive. When my grandmother didn't have her Martini makings and our favorite whiskey wasn't at their bar, they took the steps to resolve it immediately and I was left more than impressed.
Regrettably, we did not have a great experience with the management team at Holiday Inn. Each issue that arose was settled with us paying more money or debating what the emails we had said. I will say that issues were resolved but it took extended time. Our guests did not find their rooms special and unique to a tourist destination, instead a bit dirty and on par with a budget motel. Unfortunately, the Holiday Inn is not a budget motel. Rooms were over 200 dollars a night, even with a room block rate. We had to go and visit the hotel in person on about 5 occasions to actually make anything happen after we had already booked everything. I would not personally use Holiday Inn - Estes Park in the...
Read moreThis place is old and rundown. I can't believe it's part of the IHG family. It certainly isn't up to the IHG standards of the majority of their locations. Our original room was "pool view" little did we know that the hotel blared Nickleodeon cartoons poolside with epileptic-inducing strobe lights every night until 11:00 p.m. We booked this place because of the proximity to RMNP. We are early hikers and get to bed early to get an early start. After getting re-located to a "pet-friendly" room (we don't have pets, that is all they would offer us) we learned that our new room didn't have elevator access. What IHG hotel doesn't have elevators to their guest rooms? Estes Park, that's who. Our new room in the "kennel" hallway, was a disaster. Hallways to the rooms were filthy the whole time we were there. A dirty fork and knife sat outside one room for over three days before it was removed. Exterior doors were never locked. Anyone can access the building. Ceiling texture in the room falling down in the bedroom area near the window by what appeared to be water damage. Telephone not functional. Bathroom vent fan looked like it hadn't been wiped off or cleaned ever. We did that our selves. No television remote when we arrived. Took one in person request and another on my personal cell phone after an hour waiting to finally get one delivered. Major water leak in the wall behind the shower every time it was turned on. Flooded the bathroom floor. Can't imagine what the room below us looks like. Yes, we told the front desk. Finally, every other Holiday Inn we've stayed at has Angel Soft multiply toilet paper in their bathrooms. Not Estes Park. They have the cheapest single-ply TP that they could find in theirs. And we paid over $2,800 for a seven-night stay at this dump. I wish I had read the reviews of this old run-down location before booking. I just figured it was a typical Holiday Inn. It's not. I learned the hard way. Never again will I stay at this place. One good note is that the restaurant isn't bad. But you have to pay for your own breakfast....
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying with my family at the Holiday Inn in Estes Park, Colorado, and I couldn’t have asked for a better location. Conveniently located right near the Rocky Mountain National Park, the hotel offers breathtaking mountain views and is just minutes from the park entrance. It’s also close to downtown Estes Park, making it easy to explore local shops, restaurants, and trails without having to drive far. Whether you’re visiting for hiking, wildlife viewing, or simply to enjoy the fresh mountain air, this hotel puts you right where you want to be. During the summer time, there’s a free shuttle (Silver Route) that runs through 9pm.
What truly set this stay apart, though, was the exceptional customer service. From check-in to check-out, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful—offering personalized recommendations for local dining and hikes, and promptly addressing any request we had. Their local knowledge and professionalism made us feel right at home, and it was clear that guest satisfaction is a top priority at this property. Mr. Alexis, Operations Manager, was very engaged and was super helpful. He personally congratulated me on a special occasion we were celebrating. The staff, including Jeff, EJ, and others were fantastic too.
The amenities were another highlight of our stay. The hotel features a well-equipped fitness center, a relaxing indoor pool and hot tub, a family game room, and spacious, modern rooms that were spotless and comfortable. The on-site restaurant served an excellent hot breakfast buffet and evening meals with a great variety of options. We also appreciated the free parking and reliable Wi-Fi, which made everything more convenient. All in all, the Holiday Inn at Estes Park combines the perfect mountain location with top-tier service and amenities—I’d highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip...
