Zero stars for me... I was forced to put a star.. smh... We were a party of 3. We came in was told to sit a t a regular table. I wanted the Hibachi experience. The guy at the front door literally insisted that we sit at a regular table and when were debating and expressed we wanted to be seated Hibachi style, the guy insists "You can order hibachi food at a regular table as well". So I paid it no mind and chalked it up to the Hibachi chef being too busy, etc.. and we sat at a "regular table" and ordered some drinks to start. As time passes by and im eating my appetizers, I noticed that other people came right in and were seated right at the Hibachi grill with no issues. It clearly had everything to do with race. And its not up for debate. It shouldnt have been that big of a deal for us to sit Hibachi style and other people who weren't black to be seated at the Hibachi grill. If im paying for the experience, I want the WHOLE experience like everyone else got. Also, we didnt get any forks, spoons, or chopsticks until we had to literally flag the waiter down and beg for them. I will NEVER return to this place or recommend anyone go here, especially of black African descent. There is a clear difference of how they treat you here. The food is definitely not as good as other places I have had around here for them to treat ANYBODY any kind of way. Go to SHOGUN IN MCKINNEY. YOU WONT BE...
Read moreWe went with a very small group. It was early and not busy at all. We were quickly sat, and our waitress/hostess was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was very clean. The staff was very friendly. The guys cleaning the table next to us asked us if our food was good and if we needed anything. We ordered the shrimp potstickers for an appetizer. I liked it. The rest of the group did not. We had steak, chicken, and scallops with rice and noodles. It came with salad, soup, and 2 pieces of shrimp. The soup was a bit on the salty side. The salad was dressing and lettuce. The food was grilled just right. The taste was good, seasoned just a little too much with salt. The best part was the chef and show. He was funny and gave us a hard time (in a good way). We really liked the experience and are planning to return soon with more people.
Just FYI, parking is not great. The area near the restaurant was full, so you might have to park a little ways out, but...
Read moreMy family and I decided to check this place out over the weekend. When we walked in, we noticed a couple of people sitting near the entrance; we assumed they were customers, but it turned out they were employees. No big deal, but what became frustrating was the lack of greeting or acknowledgment as we waited to be seated.
Eventually, one of the workers—who had clearly seen us but continued his conversation—came over and seated us. We weren’t given any menus and waited about five more minutes before he returned to ask what we wanted to drink. I explained we hadn't received a menu yet. He sighed, rolled his eyes, and reluctantly brought us one.
We ordered sodas, but after waiting another five minutes with still no drinks or follow-up, we decided to leave.
First impressions matter, and unfortunately, this one left us disappointed. Hopefully, this was just an off day, but the lack of basic hospitality made it hard to...
