Where do I start? I arrived at the hotel at 245pm, we were told there may be a delay for check in due to no clean rooms. We were lucky enough that we were assigned a room for check in fairly quickly. I prepaid for my room through booking.com so I wasn't concerned about payment, we were asked for a card for incidentals, no big deal. I've stayed at nicer places and usually the deposit isn't more than 50$. Immediately get notification from our bank about the transaction. It was for the entire price of the room, almost 200$. I asked the guy at the front desk, he seems surprised, says he fixed it and as long as it's in "pending status" I'm fine. I don't believe him but the experience has been bad enough that I let it go for now. Get checked in, go up to our room, both cards don't work. Back down to the front desk, given two more keys and told if those don't work they may need to have someone reset the door lock. Those didn't work either. The employee at the front desk is unable to get ahold of the guy that resets the doors so he calls his manager. I'm then told "I'm not sure how long this will be, have a seat in the lobby and I will come get you when your door is fixed. Almost an hour later and a entire full lobby later, "due to no clean rooms being available for anyone" I go up to check on our room. The employee doesn't remember me or that I was waiting on my door to be fixed. I honestly can understand how he could forget how busy it was, but if that's the case don't tell me you'll come inform me when my door is fixed. Instead tell me to come and check with you after an allotted amount of time. Luckily the guy that fixed the door was up at the desk and informed me that my room was opened a bit ago. Given a new room key and finally we get in. Room was decently cleaned, but the pull out sofa had old bed sheets on the mattress with crumbs and stains. Nothing amazing about the room but it was fine. Definitely didn't feel worth the price. This hotel has a smell that is fairly noticeable especially in the elevators. It's really showing its age.
Regarding our incident with being charged twice for the room. I spoke with a guy at the front desk this morning 02/16. He made some calls and said he knew what to do and "not to worry, your card won't be charged" As of right now it still shows pending. I'm not hopeful and I have this gut feeling I'm being told what I want to hear. If the charge is in fact taken off I will update this review appropriately to reflect that.

Oh yeah and parking...

I recently stayed at Staybridge Suites in Fargo, ND and I must say, my experience was deeply disappointing. Unfortunately, it seems that encounters like this are becoming all too frequent in the hospitality industry, and this visit was no exception.
Unknowingly I arrived for breakfast 15 minutes early, I noticed several other guests enjoying the waffle maker, only to find the egg and bacon dishes empty. Standing just outside the breakfast area, I politely inquired with Theresa, the staff member responsible for the meal service, about when the food would be replenished. Instead of receiving a courteous response, I was met with an unexpectedly rude and dismissive attitude: “It will be ready when it’s ready, breakfast doesn’t start until 6:30.” I was taken aback by her tone and demeanor, as I was merely asking a simple question.
Feeling frustrated, I approached the front desk to speak with the manager. The clerk informed me that Theresa’s behavior was not unusual, indicating that he had heard complaints about her attitude during his two years at the hotel. This wasn’t a comforting revelation, especially considering the scenario I had just encountered. I later spoke to Daniel Durfee, the hotel general manager regarding the incident, and while he assured me he would address the issue, the outcome was disheartening. When I pointed out that Theresa’s claim of being startled was incorrect—having stood respectfully outside her workspace—the manager seemed to dismiss my concerns and implied that I was lying. To have an establishment’s leadership so readily support an employee's unfounded narrative over a guest's account was both frustrating and embarrassing.
Compounding my dissatisfaction was the lack of cleanliness in my hotel room. The shower floor was so dirty that I felt compelled to wear flip-flops to avoid direct contact. Such neglect of hygiene standards is simply unacceptable and speaks volumes about the management’s attention to detail.
Overall, although the rest of the staff were very cordial I cannot recommend Staybridge Suites based on my experience. It is unfortunate that a hotel can be marred by a singular employee's poor attitude paired with inadequate management support. The two issues I encountered—rude staff and a lack of cleanliness—are dealbreakers for any traveler. If you value a pleasant and respectful environment during your stay, I strongly advise seeking accommodations elsewhere. There are numerous hotels out there that prioritize guest satisfaction and maintain high cleanliness standards, and that certainly won’t make you feel like a liar for simply...
Read moreWhen I called to reserve a room, the person on the phone knew exactly who I was! When I came through the door, Kyle greeted me like a friend and immediately made me feel like I was at home. It is like this every time I stay! I had a wonderful sleep that night, which says a lot because sleep does nit come easily for me. My health has been very uo and down which effects how or even if I sleep. I went down to visit with Kristy and Danielle the next morning to ask for a late check out. I have a puppy and being I had doctor appointments all day, a later check out allowed him a place to stay while I was at the hospital. It also gave me a place to come back and lay down in between appointments. Kristy helps me out with whatever I need and they always let me know that they will work with me regarding some of my unexpected circumstances. During this last stay, I had no idea if I was gonna be there one night or many nights. I never know until appointments are done and lab results are back but I know that they are will always help. The staff cares, shows concern and compassion and will always extend a hand! I have an interesting conversation that I had back in December 2016 that will support the things I have shared about the Staybridge.
I was hospitalized in December for yet another surgery. I had family coming to Fargo plus a fiance and puppy that were gonna need a place to stay while not at the hospital. I was speaking with one of my nurses, a traveling nurse, and we were talking about where I stay while I am an outpatient. I told her that I stay at the Staybridge every time I am in town. She also stays there during her 3 month travel rotations. We talked about the staff and how they will check in on our puppies and even take them for a brief walk if we need. I told her about my circumstances with low blood pressure and how Kristy and Danielle had provided me a wheelchair to use and had many times assisted me to my room if I was not feeling well. We talked about the different hotels going up in the area and how they are all competing for business but the Staybridge will always win out because of the staff! There are many beautiful hotels, just like the Staybridge. There are many hotels with all the amenities and comfort, just like the Staybridge.............BUT, there is no staff around that can compete with my home...
