Clean and comfortable with a friendly staff and a very clean pool! Review includes a few tips. We live in the mountains, and we traveled five hours here because my son had flight lessons at a local aviation facility. As with most of these hotel chains, I am always looking for a pool and a free breakfast. So many of these hotels chains are similar, and what will differentiate them for me is the breakfast, pool and the friendliness of the staff. I’ll start with some tips and then move onto the review. 1. Ask the front desk for towels for the pool. No need to bring your towels from your room. 2. Breakfast ends promptly at nine. Promptly. If you want breakfast food, then you’ll need to arrive before closing. 3. There is very little shade at the pool until late afternoon. There is only one table with an umbrella, so if you want to sit by the pool, and have any sort of shade, then get there early and grab it. Oddly, there are a couple of umbrellas and tables sitting out across from the pool near the parking lot. *n.b. I was there on a weekday, and only a few people came into the pool, so it’s not like there was a mad dash of people fighting for the one table. But I imagine if it was a weekend, it would be better to move one of those two tables with umbrellas into the pool area (there was room for at least one more table). 4. For some reason, there’s no recycling anywhere in the facility. It could just be that there is no Recycling in the city, but it felt really odd throwing away our cans and bottles and the newspapers after we used them. 5. Cereal stays out all day, which is wonderful for snacks. There are also bananas and apples out all day and three different types of juices. The cookies didn’t come out until about noon, but then they stayed out until really late at night. If it looks a little bit barren, go around the corner to where everything else on the breakfast bar was and you will see the fruit and cereal still out. Review Staff: We arrived after midnight and the person who greeted us was not only lovely, but he was funny and interesting and joked with us a lot and was super helpful in telling us where we should park that late at night (helping us find a luggage cart etc). The morning staff was no different. The person at the front desk was nice and helpful, supplied me with a pen for the crossword and a few other items that I needed. Rooms: The rooms were clean and modern and felt new. No, it wasn’t updated and renovated yesterday, but it certainly felt like the fixtures and the tiles and the bedding were fairly new. if they were not new, then, at a minimum, they were very well taken care of. Often, there will be broken tiles or a bit of mildew starting to collect in the bathroom, stained carpets, etc. This hotel, at least our room, seemed to be in great shape. Facilities: The pool is outdoors, and, again, I was the only person there until the late afternoon. They have a very small business meeting room, which my husband used in the morning (so as not to wake us with early morning phone calls) but it is not something sustainable that you could do work in, because it is open to the lobby. So if you are looking for a place and you need a different room to do business, this is not your place. The exercise room seem to be functional, but I did laps in the pool instead.

I can't say enough about the staff! Misty was great, fast, and super efficient with check-in. They were all extremely friendly, including the night shift manager. They take care of TomTom the cat well (he is outdoors only). Great all the way around. Gave it 4 stars on rooms because in the bathroom, the wallpaper is starting to peel. The shower curtain was a wrestling match to get it spread open. Heat and A/C works perfect in room 109!

Great service and amazing breakfast! Super impressed by the selection of breakfast food that was included with the room. Quiet neighbourhood. Clean and new shower fixtures but the water temperature was a bit hard to control.

May 11, 2025 to May 16, 2025. Two years ago, we stayed at this Country Inn and Suites. We won't be staying here again. while the hotel still has its positives - there are so many negatives - where do I start? There was a spill in the elevator that was there the whole time - meaning no one mopped the elevator during our stay. 😪 The AC DID NOT work right - the maintenance man came and turned off the heat but that was the extent of his knowledge. I guess. I really wish they had worked harder to fix the problem. Instead we had to sweat through the night. 😭 The biggest problem came when the person who was supposed to clean our room, DIDN'T. We were asleep when she came by the first time and she was not responsible enough to come back around a second time. No instead my husband and I had to straighten up the room, the bed, take out the trash, etc. When the front desk person let the manager know - all she said was it would get cleaned the next day. No apology, nothing. Although what is there to do now that my husband and I did the job. We are not happy and we deserve at least a SINCERE apology if not more. I am NOT going to get up so the maid can do her job - she can come back like she is supposed to. I guess we will see what happens next. Very disappointed in how they can't seem to handle their respective jobs. 😭 I don't know what happened but this has not been a smooth vacation - we look for a hotel that treats their guests like they are important and that they are glad we chose to stay with them - not like we're a burden and they could care less. Another thing, our door did not line up with the doorframe so there was a big gap that we had to use a towel and the ironing board to cover up. This hotel needs to get its act together. No business can rest on the reviews you received a week ago, several months ago or even years ago - a business HAS GOT TO stay vigilant and ALWAYS strive to do their best. They should talk to me guest and see how their visit is going, do they need anything, etc. - not one person working at this location has done that this time. I really don't think they care one way or another if we stay here. Very ...

HVAC had been left on AC in the middle of winter for some reason, so the room was FREEZING when I entered. You'd think it would be no big deal to just switch it to heat and the room would warm up quickly right? NOPE. It took until 4am for the room to get warm enough to finally fall asleep. So then I had to get up at 8am for the breakfast that ended at 9am (thus only having 4 hours of sleep before a long drive the next way, how wonderful), only to discover that the breakfast was terrible and not worth waking up for. Not a single whole-grain, sugar-free option (like plain oatmeal) to be had. Plus the breakfast area was cramped and small, with people having to climb all over each other to get to the food. Plus the insanely bright morning sunshine was beaming right into everyone's eyes since the hotel can't be bothered to put some shades or curtains in the breakfast area and all the windows there face east. Oh and then, the cleaning person started to clean out my room while I was at breakfast. I guess since I had taken most of my things out to my car and didn't answer when they knocked (because I was at breakfast) they assumed I had checked out, even though it was nowhere near checkout time. When I went back to the room, they had thrown away my food in the mini-fridge which I had been intending to come back for. Finally, when I complained about all this to the front desk staff, they said they would give me a discount for all the problems, which of course never happened. There was no discount on my final bill.

It's been awhile since I stayed at a Country Inn and Suites, but I thought I remembered them being good. Based on this however, I will not ever be coming back. I would sooner sleep in my car than stay here again. The quality and quantity of sleep I would have gotten would have been similar or better, and that at least...
