Red Roof Inn on I 95 South Carolina.
We were able to find a room with a king size bed. The room is relatively clean, but seemed small. The bathroom was very small as well, but everything was clean. When I entered to pay for the room, I was met by a very nice lady with a happy smile, very happy to take care of me attitude. Later on I went back to the office to inquire where the ice machine was. A man came out and he said yeah you gotta go down the middle of the building to get it. And I was like you mean, I have to walk all the way around the end of the building? He said, in a dismissive manner, no just go through. The sheets seem to be clean and crisp. The pillows smelled good. (I use my own sheets and blanket wherever I go. ) There were only two towels, but they were small, not enough to cover a larger person. The decor inside this particular red roof Inn has wallpaper which is peeling and wrinkling, which leads me to believe that, there was a leak at the wall by the ceiling. There’s a big crack in it. I do see something black, which could be possibly black mold. I have the air conditioner set to 70 but it’s not cooling very well. The room also comes equipped with an ironing board and iron and a blow dryer. There are plastic cups, a nice size refrigerator, microwave, but one odd thing is that they don’t have any outlets for charging your phones. One of the lights on the opposite side of the bed didn’t work. Breakfast consisted of bananas, toast, mini muffins, which were dry and stale some danish and stale cereal. The juices were cranberry fruit and orange, but they were only syrup and the water machine was completely empty so there was not much to eat, and the milk was only good enough for two bowls of cereal, and the thing was empty. I inquired about hard-boiled eggs and I was told by a woman who could barely speak English that the law said they were not allowed to offer hard boiled eggs. So that was a disappointment. In fact, breakfast was a big disappointment and they hadn’t even set up yet, but they were supposed to set up from 6 to 8 and we arrived at 6:30 and nothing was ready. So once again, Red Roof Inn was a partial disappointment, but, this one was better than the last one I reviewed. I can see why the rooms were so cheap. One good thing I found and appreciated was we were given a military discount. I think if my fellow travelers are just looking for a cheap place to shower and lay your head, Red Roof Inn is the place to go. Just don’t...
Read moreWe had been staying at another property off this exit but decided to switch to Red Roof because Pets stay free. ||||There had been some issues with our reservation but manager Gabrielle Torres & her staff embodied hospitality to work it out for us. Every employee we encountered whether by phone, email or in person was so kind. ||||I will share that the Christmas tree in the lobby sporting “Trump 2024” & “Let’s go Brandon” ornaments was obnoxious & off putting. ||||There was no meaningful breakfast -- individually packaged pastry and some juice -- not that I had an appetite after that tree. ||||The room was billed to us as an upgrade to a King-sized bed in a handicapped accessible room. It was clean with laminate floors. There was space for a wheelchair to maneuver when you first enter the room but the space between the end of the bed and the dresser & minifridge would probably be tight to squeeze a chair through. The bathroom was open & there was a grab bar near the toilet, but the shower was not good for somebody in a wheelchair. There was a handheld shower but it was mounted in the up position so you would have to stand to get it out of the mount & use it as a handheld. There was a bench across the back of the tub, but that was 6 feet from the water controls & it was still a tub not a zero barrier entry shower. As able-bodied people none of this affected up but 1 person in a wheelchair traveling independently could not have showered in this bathroom ||||Because we were traveling with a dog, I was verbally reminded 3 times to clean up after my pet. That’s fine. I’m a responsible pet owner but in the morning when I walked my dog, I was dismayed to find not 1 but 12 piles of dog poop around the property, none of which was fresh that morning. The hypocrisy...
Read moreThe Red roof inn located on Cedar Creek is Red roof inn name but not Red roof inn brand. The owner Neill is running circus where there is obvious invisible illegal activity to include but it's not limited to drug activity . You can find people sitting on the stairs doing drugs. Neil is a money hungry monster. He is the equivalent to a slum landlord. On many occasions I have seen him lock people out of their rooms and demand more money for fees that he makes up the top of his head. How do you pay a late fee to a hotel. How are you late checking in. I have seen him lock out women and children. I saw him hulimate a woman by calling her a crackhead in a parking lot full of people. When you walk into the lobby you are met by dogs who are literally trying to jump over the counter barking and biting. When I walked through the lobby doors and those dogs jumped and barked I almost fell and broke my ankle I was so startled. Cats in the lobby. There is a thin line between pet friendly and a zoo. the pool is clean. The breakfast is cheap. The lobby does provide free toiletries and snacks for a reasonable fee to make up for lack of vending. laundry facility 2$ a load great per wash and dry. The manager who's also the owners significant other have a personal and unprofessional falling out in which she vandalized the office and the lobby. Police are often called to this facility for drug activity recently one man who was not a guest was found in one of the guest...
