I normally don’t write reviews but this time is a must.
I was driving from New York City to Boca Raton Florida. Accompanied by my girlfriend’s daughter. This was a two days drive. I stopped in Fayetteville NC for an overnight stay. I am glad I chose Holiday Inn Express in Fayetteville NC.
After a 12 hours long drive, we were greeted by Zak with a smile at the front desk. Immediately, We felt welcomed. We felt safe at the hotel.
The check in was quick. Room and bathroom were spacious and very clean, so was the entire facility. We had two queen size beds. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. We had a restful night.
There were Sanitizer stations everywhere and face mask were also available by the front desk and at the breakfast service desk.
I noticed there’s a laundry room on the first floor and ice Machine. I am sure ice machine is on every floor as well. A long desk with few computer charging stations in the lobby. There is a swimming pool. I think there’s also a gym.
A 24 hours Hot water available in the lobby breakfast service area. Coffee, tea, sugars, creamer and half and half all day long. These were only a few items that I can remember.
Speaking of breakfast, it was Fabolous! It’s not just a simple continental breakfast, it’s a full breakfast. You can have almost anything you want. Pam, the lady who took care of breakfast was very friendly. Her eggs and bacons came out just right!
During my breakfast, I noticed the Manager was going around the table greeting guests and making sure they were happy with their breakfast and with their stay. I was very impressed.
We were sorry that we can only stay for one night.
We arrived in Boca Raton 15 hours later. We stayed at The Holiday inn Express in Baca Raton but the feeling was not the same. We couldn’t wait to return to the Holiday Inn Express In Fayetteville soon enough!
Upon returning to NYC, I made my overnight stay once again at the Holiday Inn Express in Fayetteville, NC. I booked my room over the phone with Stephanie. She was gracious and friendly. When we arrived, and it was really very late, at the entrance, I saw there was a welcome panel with my name along with other guests. Made me felt like part of the family.
Zak again was at the front desk, gave us a warm welcome. Stephanie who took my booking made notes that we will arrive very late. Everything was ready for us and checking in was swift.
I will be traveling back and forth to Boca Raton. I will definitely come back to this hotel and I highly...
Read moreI’ll start off by saying, “shame on me”. I was searching for a hotel near the place I was in town to visit. I’ve stayed at numerous IHG hotels. During our last visit at a Holiday Inn Express, the front staff told us that we’d be better off not using a big website like hotels dot com or kayak dot com, etc. so, I used the search engine to find a hotel nearby, then switched to the actual brand website to complete the reservation as it, indeed, was slightly cheaper (not by much though). I assume this helps the hotel itself as they keep the full amount of the reservation instead of potentially having to pay the large search engines to fill their rooms. — I was more than happy to book on the IHG site instead of hotels dot com. — The search engine had a great cancellation policy, if I needed to cancel up to a day or two in advance, there would be no charge to cancel. — I didn’t, however, check the actual IHG site’s cancellation policy (this is where the “shame on me” comes in to play) and just got informed by Remy, one of the case managers, that I would lose my entire reservation amount for the full cost of the room even though I cancelled TWO WEEKS in advance. — Beware, IHG Hotels (Holiday Inn Express) aren’t bottom of the barrel, nowhere near top of the line, but mostly clean, but if they can take your money, they absolutely will.
Again, my fault for switching to the actual IHG site to book my reservation instead of just booking through the search engine. — I’ll know for the future and certainly won’t be spending any more of my hard earned money at any hotel within this brand. — $167 surely means nothing to IHG, but to me, it’s a significant amount of money to have just thrown into the trash due to my lack...
Read moreIn addition to the aforementioned issues, I encountered multiple problems with reservations during my stay at Holiday Inn. There were inconsistencies and mix-ups regarding room availability for the specific hotel location I initially requested. Initially, I was informed that there were rooms available and asked to reserve one for the following day. However, when I attempted to do so, I was told that no rooms were available.
On a separate occasion, when inquiring about availability, I was initially informed that there were no rooms available. Yet shortly after this conversation, upon calling back, I was suddenly told that the last room had just been reserved as we spoke. These discrepancies in reservation information added further frustration to an already disappointing experience at Holiday Inn.
My recent stay at the Holiday Inn was deeply unsatisfactory. Despite my Diamond Elite membership, I was not recognized upon arrival nor offered any of the usual amenities associated with my loyalty status. I had to specifically request a late checkout, which was granted, but the overall interaction with the staff was unpleasant due to their unprofessional and rude demeanor.
Furthermore, the hotel's location proved to be unsafe. My guest was mugged while walking across the street to the Waffle House, highlighting a serious security concern in the immediate vicinity.
This experience fell far short of the expectations associated with both the Holiday Inn brand and my Diamond...
