The lobby is deceivingly nice, quite classy in fact! The pool is great too, the pool room is nice and airy so that the chlorine doesn’t smell too bad. Now to the rest of the hotel... the continental breakfast was pretty terrible, nothing but cheap cereal and bread. No eggs, no fruit, nothing worth eating really. Walking up to the rooms the hallway and stairways smelled terribly of smoke which is pretty bad mixed with the humidity. The hallway is a mix of smoking and non smoking rooms which makes me wonder if they just stick a non smoking sticker on a room if someone pays for a non smoking room. We had trouble getting in our room EVERY DAY! The first night we couldn’t open the door, got the lady at the front desk and she came up and showed us the “trick” to open the old door. Once we got in (about 15 minutes later) the room looks nice at first glance. After first glance I realize the desk is WAY too big for the room, you could fit a pull out bed and a smaller desk or table in the area that that big desk takes up. The walls are splattered with some sort of food or liquid (gross!) and the air conditioning unit has no vent to direct the air blowing right on our faces all night long making us freeze without cooling down the room before we had to turn it off (it did work good other than that though). The bathroom is a mixture of old and new furnishings, the sink seems fairly new although not installed well. The paint is all over the towel racks and not done well at all. The sink and bathtub faucet have water stains all over them, it is very obvious it hasn’t been cleaned well. The bathtub has major buildup on it and looks dirty and gross, obviously hasn’t been cleaned (seriously a good scrubbing with a magic eraser would do the trick), even if I wanted to shower or bathe in that gross tub I couldn’t because the tub would back up immediately and take forever to drain (I asked a different person every day of the three days we stayed there to get someone to unclog it and it never happened). The toilet had a long rusty bolt sticking up about two inches long for someone to kick or step on or a baby to play with (again...GROSS!). I begin to wonder if they did more than make the bed and change out the towels (yes they changed out the towels if you left them on the floor). I’ll give this hotel one star because it seems like they focused so much on the lobby that they forgot to take care of the rest of the hotel. The rooms were not quality at all! Seriously just hire a good cleaning crew and handyman and it’ll be great!... oh and enforce the no smoking signs cough cough I’d ask for a complete refund if I had the time...we paid for four rooms for three nights, not cheap! It would go up to four stars just if they cleaned better and kept...
Read moreThe only good thing about staying in this motel was finding out that everything else was booked due to a concert in Cincinnati. Thankfully, we had a room reserved, though they made me jump through hoops to pay for it. Our room was filthy: the floor left our socks black, the armchair was in dire need of cleaning, there was trash under the chair, the bathroom floor was yucky, there was scum around the sink (which lacked a plug), and there was scum in the bathtub. The bathroom floor had been "repaired at"; that is, some tiles had been replaced with mis-matched tiles, they hadn't been properly worked around the toilet, and toilet bolts were sticking up, a clear safety hazard. The shower curtain rod was improperly installed, causing the curtain to slide toward the middle; this, in turn, caused water to spray all over the toilet and bathroom floor. The bathroom door scraped on the floor due to the poor floor repair, and the bathroom amenities were paltry.||||The laminate flooring in the main room was bouncy, possibly installed directly over a carpet; the desk chair fell over when my husband sat in it (thankfully he was not hurt, but when he took it to the lobby, their response was lukewarm and they did not offer to replace it). The desk was just a small patio table, the fridge tiny, and nothing but a small rack to serve as a closet. NO COFFEE MAKER! Considering they didn't offer anything in the lobby (which isn't very welcoming), the least they could do is put a small coffee maker in the room! And the a/c unit was crappy: to get it to work, we had to keep turning it off and then on again. ||||Outside the room: the place is in serious need of maintenance all over, with tripping hazards on the stairs, stucco on the overhead beam cracking, split fascia boards, and water-damaged soffits (we're retired contractors, so we notice these things). The vending machine had nothing, the ice machine on the first floor was out of order (and appeared to have been that way for some time), the hot tub was covered over such that no way could it be used, and the indoor pool was COLD.||||We were thankful to have a place to stay for the one night we needed it, but we could not get out of there soon enough in the morning. This wasn't our worst motel/hotel experience.... but it was...
Read moreI'd give zero if I could. Way understaffed and rooms dont get cleaned (including toilet with hairs on it, under bed toys dirty socks cup of fluid thick dust, chair has never been vacuumed food crumbs, dead piles of ants and dead roaches better than live I guess)and staff is unprofessional and rude. Told me where to get broom and vaccum at the very beginning of my stay. As staff refused to help and told me to pick a different hotel if I didnt like it cause she couldnt accomodate my request to have room swepts and toilet cleaned. As well, Ac sounded like truck in room. And another staff member was rude to moms on phone night before we even got there trying to arrange our seperate arrivals and pay in advance to have ease with check in but NO. All around negative experience. False breakfast advertisement...blame covid but rent dirty rooms....smh!!!! We had 5 adults for 3 nights but they could carless!!! And NO breakfast as advertised....top it off NO RESPECT for veterans discount. Support our troops!! Needless to say.....I had to change hotels after being screamed at which I have never done before and I've been all over the world. I actually might have cleaned it but definately not for free...how unreasonable to ask me to clean previous peoples funk. Swear I drove 17 hrs had to wait 2 hrs or more trying to be patient to realize it's not worth headache to stay here with such aweful service procedures. I could add more but....I cant believe many people want to pay for these conditions. Ps. I second the PREV. Review comment cigarette burn holes in sheets in non smoking room too. Very obvious they...
