WICH DOCTOR — Restaurant in Florence

I almost regret ever knowing about this place. Now, I don't know what kind of witchcraft they used in that kitchen, but it was a salad so fresh, it made every other salad I’ve ever eaten seem like a soggy paper towel. The chicken salad was so perfect, I felt like it was mocking every other chicken salad I’ve ever made in my sad, mediocre kitchen. The pickled onions? I’m still wondering how they managed to pickle perfection. It was so tangy, it made my taste buds want to form a union and demand more. Every bite was like a beautiful betrayal to my health. My husband ordered the Double Decker, and listen, I think we need to have a serious conversation about how a sandwich can have that much power. The layers of meat, cheese, and whatever kind of sorcery they used to make the bread so toasted to perfection—there was no reason for a sandwich to taste that good. And the potato salad. Oh, the potato salad - I felt like I needed to confess to a priest afterward. Somehow, it made my entire life feel inadequate. Like, how had I lived this long without knowing a potato salad could be this transformative? I can’t even look at regular sandwiches and potato salads the same way anymore. I went in for a casual lunch, and instead, I came out with an existential crisis. We didn’t just eat food; we were enchanted. The food was so ridiculously good, it was borderline unfair. It was almost too much. I’m seriously considering going back for more just to make sure it wasn’t a dream, but I also don’t think I can handle the emotional trauma again. So if you’re looking for food that will make you question everything you know about dining, ‘Witch Doctor is the place. Just be prepared for a full-on emotional breakdown...

Ordered online to beat the lunch crowd and even tho the line was about out the door at noon, the lovely lady working the register asked my name the second I walked in and handed me my order without waiting. That's what you hope service is like when you order online and the Wich Doctor delivered. The food would totally be worth the wait but I was thankful to get it while it's still warm. Chicken & sausage gumbo was delish and the Hecate melted in my mouth, so good. The roast beef and ham were so tender and really have to call out how good the roll was, toasty and not chewy. Would definitely get again along with the tangy VooDoo chips and peanut butter cookies (you get 2 in an order). Not open on weekends so I took home a Calico Jack tuna salad cold wich on a croissant for tomorrow's lunch along with the VooDoo triple chocolate cookies.

First time trying the wich doctor, and I will be back. I was torn between the Cuban and Hecate, and several sides. I am indecisive so I settled on the Hecate, mac and cheese, Pasta Salad & Loaded Potato Salad. I wanted to try them all. Better than ordering two sandwiches I knew I couldnt finish. Lol. The sandwich was delicious, not too spicy. The sides were okay, the Loaded Potato Salad was different than what we’re use to seeing locally. I think it has ranch in it, maybe. I also ordered an iced coffee with salted caramel and oat milk. It was tasty. I highly recommend and will be back. Thank you.
