The good news: The location is great, near to hiking trails just outside of town, super quiet & views are great. (Sundance) was cute, had a nice jacuzzi tub, tv, tiny fridge & dual sided gas fireplace. Looks exactly like the pics on the website. Those 3 appliances worked…for the most part…more later.
I arrived after dark & found my dedicated parking spot labeled clearly. There seemed to be some construction going on so parking lot & courtyard were kind of a mess.
The most frustrating part is that there are 0 directions to where the room was. I walked all over the property in the dark until I finally found my room inside the lobby building on the 2nd floor after wandering to each door & looking at the names of all the rooms. At least I received the proper door codes for the lobby & room, otherwise would have been in a pretty bad spot. NOBODY working there to help me.
No elevator & many steps all the way from the parking lot to the room. If you are disabled at all, avoid this place! Had to make 3 trips to get everything from my car.
AC/Heating unit requires a pass code (which was never provided). Had to adjust the temp by alternating between running the fireplace & opening the sliding glass door. If it had been summer or snowy, it would have been untenable. I stayed in mid-Dec. & Sedona had a warm spell, but didn’t get over 80 or below 40 degrees. Bedding was nice & functional for warmth.
Back to the specifics of the room: There is a ceiling fan attached to the same switch as the light which is a dimmer switch, but the range is “not very dim to very bright”. In order to control the light & fan separately, you either have to be about 6’2” or drag the chair from the desk & climb on it to reach the chains. The light in the shower didn’t work (only the heat light which is red). The light over the jacuzzi tub also didn’t work, & one of the bedside lamps is missing the chain, so it doesn’t work either. There is a good size closet, but only 5 hangers. There are only 2 drawers for clothes unless you consider one of the nightstands that is basically a very small dresser with 3 drawers.
They provide a coffee machine, small container of Folger’s which was half empty, a bigger container of non-dairy creamer, almost empty, some filters & about 10 packets of Splenda. 0 utensils or even stir sticks. They have some additional things in the lobby, but again, no utensils.
What I thought was the absolute weirdest thing was that it’s possible I was the only person on the property during my entire stay. I literally saw no other human. I think I heard someone coughing while walking past my door in the wee hours one morning, but I didn’t get up to inspect. No one is available to help with anything & there’s a sign on the lobby kitchen door (which is accessible 24/7) that says not to go in there & look through the cabinets or drawers for anything (but you’re allowed to go in there to get ice from the fridge - better make sure to bring your own container for the ice!).
There were zero instructions of who to call & I was never able to get on the customer portal because I was never given a username or any way to create an account or password.
My room had only a couple of coffee mugs & glasses, nothing else. Basically, if you stay in the Sundance room, pretend like you’re camping & bring absolutely everything you think you’ll need. I managed with the coffee, but bought a bottle of wine that I thought I could enjoy on my balcony (which does have a great view), but low and behold! I forgot about that pesky cork! Couldn’t find an opener, so just took it home the next day. Oh yeah, there was only one “wine glass” which was more like a glass goblet. And no one around to borrow anything from…
Additionally, all the print on the tv remote was completely rubbed off so you had to find out how to operate the tv through trial and error. I also was not able to get the DVD player to work. I didn’t even try the sound system.
All said, I would NEVER recommend this particular room to anyone, nor would I ever, ever...
Read moreI don’t like to leave bad reviews but unfortunately we did not have a good experience here. We almost checked out but did not have time to switch hotels as were on a tour all day.
The pictures looked much better online than in person. The only good part was location and the pretty view of snow on the trees and some scenery out our window in the morning.
The place has potential but needs on site staff to take care of the place. And, they need to make it a warm, inviting atmosphere. Our rooms were not cleaned daily which I was not aware of.
This was a trip for my 50th and my husband called a couple times 2 weeks before to ask if they can put a card or flowers for my arrival to make it special. The person who answered said they would ask and call back and no one ever called back. Of course, nothing special was done.
We almost stayed the Sedona Golf Resort owned now by the hIlton but my husband thought this place would be better. We met someone on a wine tour staying at the Hilton resort for their birthday and that person received a card, wine, and chocolates from the hotel for their birthday!
Read more below but this place is ridiculous. So much improvements need to be made and better service!
Cons: No staff onsite or front desk for customer service or to take care of any issues. I had to call and text the phone number available and it sounded to be someone in the Phillipines on an opposite time zone texting back and forth with me all night. It sounded to be her daytime while it was my middle of the night.
Unfortunately, our heater did not work and we were freezing all night. That night there was a lot of snow outside and it got really cold. It was an ecobee thermostat and it was not working properly. She said someone tried to access it remotely and it still was not working. They had to send someone out the next day to fix it. Im not even sure if it actually started working as the next 2 nights it was much warmer outside and it was warmer in the room but at one point it got too warm and I could not cool it back down to the temperature we were trying to set it at.
We found a pile of dog poop in the dining room on the floor next to the tables. The first night we were exhausted so we went to Clarks and picked up some quick food and came back to eat it. We were planning to eat in the dining area but my sister almost stepped in the poop and the smell was so bad. It was really gross. So we took the food up to our room after using the microwave.
The refrigerator in our room kept clicking on and off all night long making a horrible noise that woke us up all night long. I would have unplug but we had a lot of food and frozen items that we did not wanting to bad. Between it being so cold and the noise, we did not get any sleep. I kept asking the lady if anyone could help us and she kept apologizing saying she couldnt reach anyone and that she forwarded our messages to whoever is in charge. The next day they brought me a different refrigerator but just left it on the floor in the middle of the room and didn’t even bother switching it out even though they said they would.
In the morning I went to the car to get a final piece of luggage and when I came back in, I must have slipped on water but I fell and planted forward so hard on the entry way tile. I already have a back injury that I am recovering from so this was not good. I had bruised elbows and knees. I laid there a while until I could get up. No one was around to help.
Having to carry luggage up the stairs is dangerous and is not good if someone needs accessible rooms and accommodations. It actually felt dangerous carrying our luggage...
Read moreA very frustrating visit to Adobe Village Inn||We originally reserved the Sunset Villa but just prior to our arrival were notified of a maintenance issue.
