Let me be straight with you. You're planning a trip to Sedona and you're not sure where to stay. If you've rented a car, it's definitely not a problem to make the trips from here to Sedona proper (especially Uptown Sedona). It's a scenic ride! Certain times of day, you WILL hit traffic going north on 179, so be prepared to add at least 10 minutes to the normal drive. Sedona is super touristy and there are just too many people coming the same way at once. This hotel is technically in the Village of Oak Creek. If you're like us, with a busy schedule, you'll have to plan accordingly because making a trip back to the hotel to change gets really tedious (like if you're in Sedona and need to stop back to the hotel and then have to come right back to Sedona). We were there for a week, so it got real old making the drive. There is a trade-off though. Staying here is way less trafficky than actually staying in the hotels in Sedona. We had some plans that took us north and some that took us south, so all in all it kind of evened out that this hotel was in the center. If I had it to do over, I might consider staying in Uptown Sedona just for the ability to walk around in Uptown rather than driving there and having to find parking. Of course, you'll pay for that. This hotel was MUCH more price-friendly. In any event, this hotel totally served its purpose. We were so busy that we just used it for showering, sleeping and eating breakfast in. We were out and about otherwise! The staff was very nice, but keep in mind that this hotel is smaller and not a chain, so they end front desk service hours at 10 p.m. If you're looking for round-the-clock staff, this is not for you. Also note that it's further from Sedona proper, so wi-fi is a bit of a challenge. We had patchy access throughout our stay, and many times had to use our cell phone's data plan because the wi-fi simply refused to work. I was very happy with the cleanliness of our room and the overall look/feel of ours. It seemed like the hotel has good sound-proofing, because I don't recall hearing our neighbors at all. All rooms have direct outdoor access, which is nice. Being a smaller place, you have less odds of trouble-makers staying there. The clientele seemed very much just like us - couples there to enjoy a nice trip. Beds were very comfortable! You get a BIG TV too - honestly one of the biggest I've ever seen in a hotel, so that's awesome. Our room had a fireplace, but to be honest it didn't really seem to throw much heat so don't necessarily base too much on that. We had a mini fridge and microwave, which was a BIG help because Sedona is very expensive for food at restaurants, so we went to Whole Foods and picked up a bunch of stuff to keep in the fridge for breakfast and snacks to take hiking. I'm always big on "how good is the water pressure" and this place definitely had great water pressure and no shortage of hot water. The water is very hard though, so be prepared to feel like you need to use 5x as much shampoo as you normally do! The water in the sink actually got too hot too fast, so beware! The view from the rooms (at least ours) was gorgeous. Don't drive yourself insane like I did, trying to seek out a hotel with the best view possible - this hotel has a view. For how much you're in your room, it's plenty enough. The parking lot is a little small, so if you come home too late you may end up grabbing one of the last few spots. There isn't really anywhere to relax outside here other than a few metal chairs outside the lobby and some seating on the second floor, so don't plan to be outside relaxing. We had considered a few other hotels with communal fire pits and what not, which would probably be the only thing I actually "missed" by booking here. With this hotel, your only option is really to be in your room if you're at the hotel. Again, which is perfect if you're planning to be very busy and only using the hotel to sleep. Don't forget the bonus that this hotel is just a few minutes from Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte! You could literally walk there...

Our stay at the hotel was fine, not really exemplary but for the price we understand it. The problem was when they double charged us (mine and my husband's credit card) after a night stay at the hotel. I called them and a certain Allen/Allan answered and the first thing that came from his mouth was I don't understand you. Then I proceeded to explained to him that they charged us double because our reservation was only for a night and that we already checked out before 11AM the next day. He was so rude and very disrespectful and said that he won't refund me because I made 2 nights reservations and it was from a third party. We argued back and forth because I know for a fact that I only made 1 night reservation and how hotel policy works (NOTE: I WORK IN A HOTEL) that even if (I MISTAKENLY) made a two day reservation, they still needed to refund me because we c/o before 11AM the next day. Then he proceed to challenge me if I can show him receipts to show that I only reserved for 1 night. I said I can and that I need to talk to the manager coz we are not going anywhere with the conversation. He then hang up on me. I think this is not the first time that these people double charged their guests, I am just lucky that I worked in a hotel and I know the policy but for those people that don't even check their bank balance after their trip, they must be screwed by this hotel. Watch out people!!!!!!!! As a hotel guest service representative, if that is the way you treat your guests, no one wants to stay...

I looked past a negative experience with this hotel back in 2017* (described at the end) to book here, and I'm glad I did.

Location rocks. Especially if you'd like something more laid back and less commercial than uptown. We walked to Bell Rock and some well priced restaurants. Staff was very friendly and gave us late checkout without any guff. Price was fair.

Only weird thing was the room - specifically the bathtub! We had a choice between a standard with a fireplace or deluxe with a tub. We went with deluxe, not realizing it was an either/or between fireplace and tub, not both. The tub was IN the room! It was kind of novel and fun, but not a very good design. Water spilled over and sprayed from the attachment. Only romantic if you have a good sense of humor 😊 Might be super fun for kids, though. Also shower spray had no pressure control, so when I turned it on I got blasted in the face with high pressure cold and the head was angled to it just started pouring on to the floor.

Otherwise, room was mostly clean and nice.

*In '17 we had to leave another motel due to bedbugs. We booked here on hotwire, but the office was already closed and when we called the after hours number the man said he lived too far away and wouldn't come to let us in to the hotel we had already paid for - leaving 2 ladies out and alone in the dark, short $100+ bucks and...
