Had the privilege to stay at a lovely condo within close proximity of the resort with my family over President's Day weekend. Our stay and the accommodations were fantastic, despite the highly unusual and extensive list of rules from Condos in Steamboat/Kim Filler. We complied with all of the instructions, left well ahead of our check-out time, and even did extra cleaning in spite of the fact that our charge already included a $400 cleaning fee to be paid in advance. If this wasn't enough, Kim attempted to shake us down for an additional $450 before we left and she never even came by the unit to check on the state of the place. Given that we already paid over $4k for the weekend that included the advance fee, we declined the additional charge.
Low and behold, Kim came back to us after 2 weeks and submitted a formal complaint to AirBnB for the additional $450 claiming that the state that we left the place was "disgraceful" and required "29.75 hours of additional cleaning" (she changes this amount of time every time there is new correspondence). Mind you, this is a 2k sq. ft. condo and this was a trip with my late 60s parents, my sister and our spouses where we used the space for puzzling, hot-tubbing and cooking meals. You'd have thought from her description that we threw a frat kegger.
I would beware of Condos in Steamboat and the professional extortion artist, Kim Filler! I think she probably assumes that Airbnb or my family will pay without any kind of resistance.
Trust me - there are other places...
Read moreSo, I don't normally post stuff like this but I was really bothered today by these interactions. Out of town friends came to visit Steamboat and stayed in a condo. The condo was in great shape and beautiful. It was a great visit until the lady from Condos in Steamboat, Inc came to clean up. She was very aggressive in her demeanor, walked into a BEDROOM where my friend was breastfeeding her daughter without being invited, complained about this being a 20 hour job (not professional), and invading space upstairs while my friend was getting her infant and toddler ready. Downstairs was ready to be cleaned, but she NEEDED to start where my friend was. She complained later that a 10am check out was IMPORTANT, which I totally get. But my friend was in her car, driving out of the garage at 10:04am. SERIOUSLY!? This is NOT how you treat people!!! My friend was so upset she was crying!!!!! Nicest person ever left in tears.
I am totally upset about this. This is not how you treat people. I felt strongly this needed to be shared because it was SO inappropriate!! I want people to know so they are aware AND maybe interactions like this will be prevented with other...
Read moreKim & Dan Filler Owner of Condos in Steamboat) are my absolute “go to” when it comes to our annual trip to Steamboat Springs! Kim’s attention to detail and communication are top notch. We have used her and her team for a number of years. My family of four just enjoyed a phenomenal week in Sheraton 706 just after the new year. This condo has been beautifully renovated (as we have stayed in this unit before) Everything was absolutely perfect. The new owners of this condo have clearly thought of everything. The beds, linens, and robes were all super comfy, the ottoman is full of fun, family games, the kitchen is incredibly well stocked (we cooked in three nights and it felt just like home), the furniture is beautiful and also super comfortable after a long day. The bathrooms are stocked with everything you need for a hot shower…The unit has a full-size washer and dryer-which was wonderful! The best part is that Kim is very hands-on and always available for all of your needs or questions. Thank you, Kim, for another great stay in Steamboat Springs! We will start planning our...
