Old Town Pub in Steamboat Springs is one of the most disgraceful, poorly ran business establishments I've ever been to. I was visiting my time share over the weekend and went out with a group of friends for drinks. They got tired and drove home around midnight and I told them I'd just catch an Uber later on. I left old Town pub after spending upwards of 100$ and tipping 20+ % at 1:30 am and tried to find an uber or lyft, to no avail.
I walked around for about 30 minutes before returning to this establishment and explained that I could not find a ride and needed a place to keep warm until my friends or an uber were available to pick me up. It was 8 ° degrees outside. I walked in after a door guy told me they couldn't let anyone in and noticed a guy I'd met earlier who was in no way affiliated or working at this bar along with many others who weren't in staff clothing. I sat down and pleaded with the heavy set, raspy voiced brunette bartender and she automatically came around the bar and grabbed me by the inside of my shirt while cursing at me to get out. I sat outside in 8 degree weather until 315. Nearly had frostbite and woke up the next day with my fingers still sore and a runny nose.
On my way to home at 315 am we also noticed the many local drunkards still in the bar that I was refused to keep warm in. Some pretentious people are expected in Steamboat as it is a nice mountain resort town. However ,human beings without a sense of compassion or ability to offer even the least bit of help to someone in need, are not. I will be calling to speak with management during my work day this week. I will never give this establishment another penny in the future when I visit if there is no...
Read moreOTP is a great place to hang out and grab drinks and food. The live music is always awesome! Although, last night November 19th I was harassed by one of the male bartenders while trying to fix my bill. I was charged a $10 cover for the band, which was totally fine. Throughout the night, my friends had gotten me a drink so I never went up to the bar at all for anything until I got my bill at the end of the night from the bar. It should only be $10 was my thoughts but I was overcharged. I told a female bartender and she was nice about it but then the male bartender came and was telling me “ no no, you need to pay for this, sign it” and I was like okay no that’s not happening. And so he kept trying to convince me that I had ordered a Jim Bean shot and also suggested I needed more drinks and tried to also suggest that the drink in front of me was mine but it was just some random drink that someone left at the bar. He very rude. All I was trying to do was sort my bill out. It’s not fair to be overcharged. He assumed I was drunk and unknowledgeable but I was not. Please make sure to use cash here and to always check your bill, it’s your...
Read moreSTAY AWAY...RUDE/DRUNK STAFF. Went here to grab a drink with a couple friends around 1am on 1/17/2016....at 1:37 they served my group and myself another rounds of drinks and then at 1:40 proceeded to turn on the lights and tell us we had to leave. We mentioned we were just served our drinks and asked if we could stay a couple min to finish them, the guy we asked (who was also the same person to serve me my drink) rudely told us "it was state law and you have to leave right now". In most states you are required to give your patrons 15 to 30 min window from last call til when you kick people out so that they can finish there drinks and or sober up a bit...but they didn't even give us 10 min and were extremely rude about it too. I stated that we had received poor service on our way out the door and the same guy proceeded to tell me to leave and never come back (he was clearly wasted and or on drugs) even though we literally did nothing wrong...Trust me I won't be back and I hope anyone reading this will also avoid the old town pub. We went to many other placed while visiting steam boat and would recommend anywhere in steamboat...
