Overall our experience wasn't horrible but our first night definitely was. We stayed the weekend and upon arrival we realized there were so many different issues with our room. We booked a room with a jetted tub but were given a regular room. We also realized the wifi or cable weren't working in the room we were in (room 300). I think the signal just wasn't strong enough because it showed up but wouldn't connect. Our bed was completely destroyed/broken. It was obvious and very poorly repaired with a metal hose clamp. The middle support was on the ground so the bed was practically a V. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling and it poured water (at least while shower ran) but luckily it was over tub. The mildew/mold smell gave my fiance a headache. The door lock/frame were broken and another thing they poorly repaired. It looks like they used some type of cheap packaging tape like that will offer any type of security. The dead bolt was mounted on the trim so it was useless. There was a dirty sock and numerous other items left from whoever stayed before so it obviously wasn't cleaned very well. Just a horrible and disgusting room I'm honestly shocked they're even putting customers in a room like that. We called 10 minutes after arriving and explained the issues to the receptionist. And since she informed us she didn't have any other jetted tub rooms Available we asked for a refund so we could find a better room. Both her and priceline refused at the time and claimed they couldn't until the manager was available at 9am Saturday morning (following day). We weren't happy but didn't have the extra money for another room without a refund so we stayed the night. Neither the manager or priceline called us at 9 so at 10 we called and the manager was in. She offered to move us to a better room with a jetted tub which is all we wanted from the beginning. But refused to compensate us in anyway for the night before so we asked for a refund and she refused. We tried calling priceline but they refused to refund us or help us in any way. Not having any other options and being hours from home we just said we'd take the new room. It was SIGNIFICANTLY nicer but still had a few small issues. But it was good for us we aren't picky at all. This all truly caused us so much stress and ruined our first day and plans we had. The 2nd night was significantly better but our first night was so horrible it just messed up our whole trip. We honestly haven't decided if and how much we're going to dispute with our bank but we definitely didn't receive what we paid for the first night. Our bodies are still sore from the first night bed being so broken Overall I couldn't suggest to stay here because if you have any type of issue they're most likely not going to refund you. I know alot of customers like us can't afford to just go pay for another room without getting your money back. If they would work on a few small things they really wouldn't be a bad place for the price. I doubt we will be returning

This is the worst hotel i have ever stayed st and i have been to sone pretty bad ones traveling. Day one move in people walking around zoned out staring at me. Reminded me of the old south when you visited your relatives. Just a mess. I do not recommend this place for kids or single females not safe. Unable to unlock the door security lock had been tampered with so much i had to get assistance. After move in the floor was uneven the carpet was filthy apparently nobody cleaned the unit with bleach. I found a toy mouse behind the tv cabinet that scared the hell out of me as well as some jerk pulling and pushing in on my door. I had to barricade it with my luggage and a table. The complex is dirty drug infested section 8 extended stay. The staff us condescending. Maintenance came to my unit about a smell i did nit call he just open the door then said he thought it was empty. Most places write up a work order. U found a camera in the room in a light another that looked like a listening device i have a scanner. Can't leave booked online no refund. A homely white guy kept following me around every time i walked to my car there he was driving or walking. A hot mess! Some black guy in an old black caddy watched me move in and out took a picture i took his now he has attitude. Men walk around all night loud music people sitting on the steps curb against the building just ghetto! No direct tv so movies no phone cameras bugs mildew stains. Well you get what you pay for. You are better off sleeping in your car much safer and cleaner.

Do not stay at this disgusting hell hole. A big red flag when they have a 10 minute refund policy (is this even legal?) I tried three different rooms that were all equally as run down and gross. First room had dirty sheets, so I asked for another one. This one had burn marks in the bed, some questionable spilled fluid in the sheets, and it smelled like dog hair mixed with cigarettes. Finally I get a third room, and I’m instantly greeted with the most pungent mold smell that has ever come across my nose. I just noped the hell out of there. If you do happen to stay here, make sure it’s on a credit card so you can cancel it immediately when you realize this place doesn’t conform to any sanitary standards. The days inn right beside it is the same price and it feels like a 5 star luxury resort compared to this dump. I would slept in my truck if it weren’t for my company going out of there way to changing the hotel. The rooms looks absolutely nothing like the pictures. You have been warned. Do not stay here unless you want the authentic craphole experience. These people should not be allowed to operate and sell such a monstrosity to the public. Not to mention the only place to park a truck there is filled with potholes, it is the single worst piece of road I have ever seen.

I would like to start this review by noting that I am a Diamond level Wyndham Rewards member. I can not speak for everyone, but this is my experience with Travelodge Monroe. At check-in, you may or may not be charged a cash deposit. It depends on if the "manager" April is there or not.. and whether she's deemed you a "trustworthy guest". Let me preface this by saying I've stayed more than 3 months at this hotel due to work in the past, with no issues. I've NEVER been charged a fee at check-in! I always booked my weekly stay online with my debit card. I've never received ANY of my Diamond level perks! Due to my extended stay, I've racked up SEVERAL free nights with Wyndham. I had to come back for work on 04/28/25 and decided to use one of the free nights. At check-in, April (the "manager") let me know that the housekeeping crew was running behind with their cleaning duties for the day and that the room type I requested (1 king bed, non-smoking room) was unavailable. (Check-in is 3pm. It was nearly 4 o'clock at the time) She said she could get me into a different room or that I could wait for an hour or more for the room to finish being cleaned. She said she couldn't guarantee a time the room would be ready, so I opted for the room they currently had available (2 queen size beds, non-smoking #223). She asked for my ID to verify the reservation. Made a copy of my ID and said, "that'll be a $50 cash deposit." I questioned this as I was NEVER charged a deposit in all the time I stayed here. She said it changed when she tool over as manager.. I was staying there at the time and knew that was untrue, but I had already used one of my free nights by booking this room, so my husband gave her $60 (3 $20 bills). She handed him 2 $5s back and took 2 $5s out of the cash drawer and put it in an envelope with 2 of the $20s he gave her placing the other $20 in the cash drawer to replace the 4 $5s she took out to make change. The next morning at checkout, she called housekeeping to verify the room had all of its linens. They told her everything was good. When she returned the money to my husband, she opened the envelope and handed him a $50 bill....👀🚩 When he questioned her, she laughed and said "sorry about that, I had to make change for someone else! It's still the same amount you paid.." I told my husband that was the last time we would be staying there... he wasn't as upset about the situation as I was since he did, in fact, get $50 back as promised. Fast forward to yesterday, we find ourselves back in Monroe for work. My husband says, let's use another one of those free nights so that we don't have to drive home tonight. Against my better judgement, I booked another night at this hotel using a free night. We went by the ATM fully expecting the $50 check-in fee that we were charged for the first time a few days prior.. THIS TIME she tells us she "CAN'T MAKE CHANGE FOR THE $60 AND HAS TO KEEP THE FULL AMOUNT!!" 😳 I wanted to cancel and was told that if I do, that my free night can't be refunded so it's basically wasted if we didn't stay.. So we stayed... The rooms are dated and smell musty and like stale cigarette smoke (even though the rooms are advertised as non-smoking rooms, we witnessed a member of housekeeping carrying linens in and out of multiple rooms with a lit cigarette hanging out of her mouth). The TVs only have limited channels. The remotes don't work half the time. Some of the beds are hard as a rock while some sink so badly they're almost impossible to get out of. Some rooms have water pressure, some do not. Their housekeepers and Maintainence crew all live at the hotel. It's clear they've never been trained to do ANYTHING. They're all just running around like chickens with their heads cut off smoking in all these non-smoking rooms. Not to mention all the drugs and loud, unruly children and other hotel guests who have no common courtesy. (Those people don't get charged a check in fee.. btw)

The manager told me this morning if I didn't like it to stay somewhere else, which we will be doing...

I became homeless in May and started staying here once I got employed nearby in late June paying $378 a week. That's almost $1,600 a month - a house payment or two. I've soaked around $4,000 possibly closer to $5,000 or so into this hotel as a "necessary evil" over the last 4 months as I've got a $4,700 eviction over my head and nowhere else to go. Spent time in three rooms of varying quality but I won't get into that. Other reviews are consistent. Can't say much about the office staff that hasn't been said before, either, but I believe management and hotel ownership are overwhelmed with live-in housekeepers calling off, lack of knowledgeable maintenance staff, and the long standing fraudulent businesses models and practices of Wyndham itself. Corporate is the focus of my ire here because how corporate treats their employees is exactly how employees treat the customers and I'll use the 3x points promotion as an example because it just happened to me. The example given on Wyndham is a 2 night stay with a base rate of 3,000 points would be tripled to 9,000 points total. Logically, I concluded my most recent 5 night stay would net me about 21,000 points because the maximum is 30,000 for 7 nights. Oh no, this is where Steiner Math kicked in and the Wyndham chat agent pulled a bait and switch by saying points are only rewarded by factoring the total amount you paid minus taxes. When I pointed out that the example doesn't mention this "cost - taxes" stipulation, the chat agent responded with, "It's only an example, Jason." Oh really?!? Then I guess I have no other choice but to invite the Michigan Attorney General's Office into this discussion and take my $1,600 a month elsewhere. Maybe a nearby hotel will give me a much better deal that doesn't involve gaslighting, breadcrumbing, and open bald face bait and switch fraud? Hey, I'm just a homeless UAW worker instead of an elderly Wyndham Resorts time-share owner - they got it worse than I do! If this is how corporate treats the elderly, the homeless, and the vulnerable, no wonder house keepers are calling off. If only management and the owners can call off, too. Wait. They pretty much have. It's what the "trickle down" part really means in "trickle down economics". COVID hollowed out the labor poor, corporate saw how much money it saved, and skeleton crew staffing became the new normal. Grifters gonna grift ...

EDIT: I figured out what the deal is. You get 10 points for every dollar spent on your stay or 1,000 points - whichever is greater. In the example used on the triple points promotion where a 2 night stay would earn 3,000 points (tripled to 9000 total), you'd have to have spent $150 a night. Those aren't Travelodge/Days Inn prices - that's more akin to the Baymont price model. Wyndham should use a table breaking...
