Firehouse Deli — Restaurant in Gaithersburg

Tiny spot that has a great selection of subs and sandwiches, with friendly and fast service. I phoned my order in and enjoyed it outside where there is some patio seating.

I had the Texan pastrami sandwich (pastrami, Jalapeño, coleslaw, Swiss, spicy Russian) on eye and "the Works" Steak and Cheese sub (Lettuce, tomato, onion, provolone, mayo + I added jalapenos) on a 6 inch sub.

On both, the bread was excellent, fresh and very tasty.

For the Texan, the pastrami was of very good quality and was so delicious with their slaw, spicy Russian dressing, and jalapenos. 5/5 stars for this sammy, can't wait to try it again!

For the steak and cheese, it was good but nothing special. They used the standard cheese steak processed meat, not fresh ribeye or anything. It was still decent because the other ingredients were fresh. Don't regret ordering it, but just wouldn't get it again. Maybe 3 or 4 out of 5 stars.

There is some seating inside and outside but this is generally setup as a takeout spot.

Judging from the supplies, boxes, and exhaust hood as you walk into this venue smack dab "in your face", I lowered my food expectations 75 % for an even edible meal. It's never good to shop Costco hungry and The BLT Grille (my #1 go to) was running 30 minutes behind on the wait. I glanced at the "thai chicken wrap" on the board outside so, there was no rocket science involved; they had me at "th". After 13-15 minutes, she brought our food out to us. Let me tell you, if you've ever been on a blind date and the person you expected to look like Napoleon Dynamite but ended up looking like Fabio, this was my fabio! I’ve been coming to this place for years and I realized I’ve never given a solid review but this place has some of the best sandwiches ever! Always get a sandwich and chip and drink combo and it hits the spot every time. Got a firehouse melt for the first time today and it was so yummy. Have had a few of their vegan options as well as the meat ones and they’re both amazing. Took my vegetarian friend for her first time today and she absolutely loved it! Glad they’ve been around for so long, always happy to give them my business. Customer service is good it’s always wholesome...
