Really good food. Was a little worried with how touristy the area was and the recommendation for this place coming from someone that handed me a list of places I know are a little more touristy and not something to brag about from previous experiences down on the island. But I was pleasantly surprised by how we all enjoyed the food as much as we did! The Shark Bites had potential but in our opinion the bbq sauce was all we tasted; the sauce to dip them in was delicious on fries so I can imagine without the bbq sauce that would have been super… when we come back probably will order this way. Had I known the truffle aioli was gonna be as good as it was I would have gotten a burger and added that like my wife did… instead I ordered the Big Kahuna hot dog… totally underestimated its size and had to throw in the towel. It was good but if I get it again I’d probably hold the relish, kinda the strongest flavor and can’t say I’ve ever done that on a chili dog. My fried green beans were delicious and I probably ate way more than I should have of those. The onion rings were pretty amazing. The breading was spot on and they weren’t super greasy. They were big slices but the onion didn’t all string out like they do sometimes in big slices so that was awesome. Our server was pretty attentive to us and I feel like she took great care of us but I will say some of the tables near us seemed to be waiting on the guy serving them. We have a family trip planned for next month and have already put this place on the list to go back...

So I have been wanting to come here for a while. The food pictures looked so good on FB. Made it for dinner and was not so impressed. The food was just ok for the price. I wouldn't be leaving a negative review for how I felt about the food and price. For this I have to leave a review. As we were finishing our meal I see standing at the bar Manager of the restaurant named Lynn. She grabbed a bag and slammed it on the counter in anger and started walking to the back of the restaurant. I watched as she walks up to a young bus boy and gets in his face pointing her finger in his face. She starts walking back to the front of the restaurant with the bus boy following her. As he is preparing to start to clean the table she grabs a napkin from the dirty table and throws it in anger towards the bar. She turns and in front of several tables loudly says IT BETTER BE DONE BY THE TIME I COME BACK!!! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The people had just left table. It wasn't like this table had been empty and dirty for 3 or more minutes. I felt so embarrassed for this young man. I couldn't hold my tongue and called her to our table when she returned and mentioned how awful her actions were. WE WILL NEVER RETURN. I hope they can get better people to manage. Ones that know how to treat employees with respect. If she does this in front of customers how is she treating...

Food was ok, service was awful. Greeted when we walked in and we chose to sit at the bar. Bad choice. There were 3 other people (not busy) and it took at least 5 minutes to be greeted since the Bartender felt the need to finish a conversation with a friend. (Side note...bartender had really long nails that we noticed she used to do everything with, from tapping on the computer to grabbing lemons, just gross-wonder how much bacteria gets stuck under there) Ordered fried cheese to split as a starter and each of us ordered the 8 fried shrimp platter. Food came out quickly....all together. Annoying. Starters should start, right? We also each were given a 12 fried shrimp platter- more than we wanted, especially since staying in a hotel (and I mean, it's shrimp. Who wants reheated shrimp?) But couldn't say anything since our bartender friend was complaining about another employee to a server and wasn't paying attention (apparently the other bartender wanted to change schedules and she thought it was bull@#$@ but at least she would get more hours) finally got her attention so we could get the check. Yep. We were charged for the larger platters. But bartender friend was off chatting with friend #1 so we just paid and left. So much wasted food. There won't be a next time for us, we will go to one of our regular spots- but I would suggest a...

WOW! Unexpected quality and flavor! You truly have to try this place. My wife and I were looking for a place with variety to grab a quick lunch, we usually have our kids with us but this time it was just the two of us with limited time and a good appetite. We have been to Shark Shack before with our kids so we stuck to burgers and chicken nuggets which were great! But let me tell you about their Parmesan crusted chicken fettuccini Alfredo pasta dish and their Sweet Sriracha Chicken Sandwich! There is no other Italian restaurant (within a family friendly budget) that does Alfredo + pasta the way these guys do it! Yes, way better than olive gardens’ interpretation of it folks, not kidding you must try it! If you prefer the chicken broiled or blackened they can serve it that way too, to save a few calories. However if you split it, this dish is plenty for two. The Sweet Sriracha Chicken Sandwich is definitely amazing, the flavor is very unique and not too spicy. Crunchy, warm, savory, on a soft bread, full of flavor. The fries are breaded and very tasty. There is no downside on their food menu. The only thing we could have hoped for was some fresh squeezed lemonade, they did serve a small variety of sodas and iced tea. I almost forgot to mention the Alfredo dish is also served with shrimp if you’re in the mood for seafood! Try it and enjoy.

I went to Shark Shack for the first time Friday for lunch. The location is terrific if you plan to visit the Strand. It's in the heart of the Strand and makes for great people watching if you sit outside. The restaurant was very clean. Our server Kat was very friendly and provided great suggestions and service. We sat outside in order to people watch. My ONLY criticism was that they just have 2 outside tables, but that appears it's all their outside footprint will allow, so it's not anything they can really change. The inside is well lighted with a lot of natural light coming from the windows. It has a very open and inviting appeal. Both my wife and myself had margaritas, which we both enjoyed. I had the chicken Ibiza which I absolutely loved and will be getting again. It came with mashed potatoes, which were fair, and carrots and green beans. The green beans were better than average but not outstanding. I don't like carrots, but I ate just about every carrot on the plate. Apparently, I only like carrots that are cooked to perfection. My wife got the stuffed shrimp which she loved. Galveston has a lot of really good places to eat, and Shark Shack is a "don't miss" restaurant in the Strand District.
