Phoenicia Restaurant — Restaurant in Glendale

I want to start with this: I do recommend this place. Better not to consider Yelp or Google review's low rate. Go and try it. If you wonder why, please read the post. We had a birthday party there, reserved a big table for all of us. I was so busy with friends so I could not take enough photos for you. Anyway, when half of our friends arrived. They started to bring appetizers which were alot, some of us thought those are the food. Later they brought the main course. I don't want to give you sentences just about what they brought, enough to say they were all delicous. All of them. All staff were taking care of us. Though the resutrant was pact with people. They gave us a decent service. About this resutrant I can say: They all are so nice, staff, manager, singer... You could have hookah outside in the lounge but not inside ( you migh ask who smokes inside the resturant, then I say just go to westwood, you'll find one😐). So, the inside is smoke-free. All foods they brought for our table were delicous They do not accept multiple cards. You should ask your friends being cash or one of you pay for it. Each of you could have separate check for your drinks (helpful) Parking: street parking is available but you need to look for one. The resturant has valet parkin, not sure about the price. You should go there hungry if you have a party there. You'll eat good foods😋. They'll take care of your birthday cake, so dont worry about cutting it. They are awesome They have good entertainment on weekends. Singer, the guy, has a good voice There is a dance floor and it's big enough for at least 30 If I remember more I'll update the post....

My husband took us for date night and this place was spectacular! If you were here for a good sit down, maybe hookah and laughs, and ofcourse - scrumptious food, this place won't disappoint, neither will the service. It gets busy after 8pm. This place is great for large groups too! Service can be slow but the food is worth the wait! I saw many reviews with people being upset about the service. These guys don't rush you through your food experience and neither after you're done with food if you're lounging. I've experienced having to finish my sentence outside of the restaurant when hosts are in a rush to flip tables. Even on a Friday night and with so much crowd, what was happening around us didn't creep into our table. I loved that about this place! Big shout out to our host Tony ❤️ He made us feel very comfortable throughout our 2.5 hour dining experience and he did throw in some complimentary salads that I enjoyed. Their hookah was so smooth and worth the 45 dollars, hands down.

FOOD:

Hummus took me back to Dubai! Falafel was so crispy. It was so even after 20 minutes. The stuffing inside was not dry, you could have it without any dipping sauce. FAROUJ AL FAHAM : Marinated chicken on charcoal grill - The star of the evening. Dig in, use your hands if you will .. Oh my, the perfect blend of spices and juiciness with garlic sauce, grilled tomatoes and rice. My suggestion, choose rice over their fries. Tony gave us the fries on the house any way. 😀

This restaurant was by far one of the best dining experiences for a mezze style meal. The food was incredibly delicious and there wasn't any item that disappointed my palette. That being said I only tried the vegetarian options, which there were many of. My boyfriend's father was kind enough to order for the table and we had a large enough party that everyone had different dietary restrictions all of which he accounted for when ordering. Most of the people in our party did eat meat and they all did have good things to say about the non-vegetarian dishes. As someone who enjoys cooking I often find dishes to lack a balance in flavours. This was not the case at this establishment. The highlights were the lemon potatoes, falafel, fattoush, shanklish, which was an incredibly seasoned cheese dish, mujaddarah, mousaka, hommos and baba ghanouj.

In my experience, places that have such a variety on their menu don't often exceed expectations on all if the dishes. The presentation of each dish was great. We are family style and there was enough food for 10 of us, though we did order a table full of dishes and a giant player with the tops of meat as the entree course.

The staff was great and I would say that the service was consistent throughout the night.
