El Potrero Night Club — Restaurant in Glendale

I lost my debit card at this bar 2 Saturday’s ago and it was used this past Sat. Hope whoever is using it enjoyed their time. Just know I got the police involved and will have you prosecuted to the highest extent of the law for theft.

Response to Owner: I lost my card the evening of 8/28 AT POTREROS. My card was locked and reported as lost as of 8/29. EXACTLY ONE WEEK LATER on 9/4 my card was charged AT POTREROS! Nowhere else! What a COINCIDENCE! I’m sure it’s routine for all clubs/bars to do a routine check of the entire building/dance floor. You mean to tell me as many staff members as this establishment has that not one single person came across my card? The first and very last time I’ll ever step foot at this place. I’d rather give my money elsewhere than to support a sketchy establishment as this.

UPDATE: well maybe if you guys would ID customers at each point of purchase, especially at the bar, then fraud could be prevented at your establishment. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ID PEOPLE. This place lacks professionalism. Rather than deflect from the situation, this establishment should recognize how they could improve from a complaint rather than down play my reasoning. The irony of it all is that I’ve heard plenty of horrible things about this place, yet still gave this place a try. My entire experience as a first time customer just proves a point. This place is a run down, classless place to spend quality time. I hope this post shows all of Denver how tasteless you all could be.

& may I add, it doesn’t seem like I’m the first person to leave a review regarding being scammed or taken advantage of at this location. If everyone were to click on reviews and select lowest, then everyone will be able to see there are a number of customer complaints about the poor customer service among your employees and thievery. In my entire life, I have never had such a terrible experience at a bar as I did at this place. From the moment we arrived, everything was a disaster. First, the security guards at the entrance were unbelievably rude and abusive, acting with an arrogant and completely unprofessional attitude. They didn’t just seem to enjoy mistreating customers—they made it their mission.

After dealing with that unpleasant welcome, we encountered the first ridiculous surprise of the night: a $30, 40 and 50 cover charge. Why? I have no idea, because this place is absolutely not worth it. It’s not a high-end club, not even close. It’s a rundown dive bar with filthy facilities and bathrooms that look like something out of a horror movie. The dirt, the terrible smell, and the obvious lack of maintenance make stepping inside a disgusting experience.

As for the atmosphere, the drag show is the only somewhat redeeming aspect. It’s entertaining at first, but after 30 minutes, it becomes repetitive and boring. There’s no variety, no originality—just the same thing over and over. The music doesn’t help either: it’s monotonous, repetitive, and after a while, it becomes unbearable.

But the worst part of all was the outrageous overcharging. I ordered two buckets of beer at $40 each, only to check my account the next day and find out I had been charged twice. When I realized the mistake, I tried to contact the bar multiple times, but, as expected from such a poorly managed place, I never got a response. They basically stole my money and didn’t even have the decency to acknowledge it.

All my friends and I wanted was to have a good time, but with everything that happened, it was impossible. There are so many better places to go out without having to deal with rude staff, ridiculous prices, boring music, and fraudulent charges. I do not recommend this place under any circumstances. In fact, if you’re even considering going, do yourself a favor and choose literally any other...

Excellent Staff!!! Say hi to Dawn while you are there...she is AMAZING!!!! Always friendly, tries to know everyone, remember things about them AND help with whatever needs to be done. The owners are personable and relatable! The music is top notch and the drink prices are cheaper than going downtown by a LANDSLIDE! The shows will knock your socks off and I am surprised at the quality for the low cover price. They do their best to maintain COVID standards unlike a lot of the places I have been to and I feel comfortable that I am safe there with the HUGE building and the social distancing that is available, maintained and adhered to. In this day and age, it is important to support small business that are hurting BECAUSE they value life and maintain the standards that are needed. We as a people can make sure that companies like this stay in business and are here for generations to come. We all know that most of the bars and nightclubs are here to just 'make a dime' and they do not care about the people within or (more importantly) outside their walls. This company, however; has shown concern for the community at large (by staying closed until real standards could be implemented) and adhering to them even as they have seen business decline because they REFUSE to blatantly defy standards and put others lives at risk for the sake of the business. This place is one that deserves the communities full support for doing just that.
