I usually stop in at the location on Leetsdale (5835) as it's right down the street from my work. I love this location along with the one right by my house off Quincy and Picadilly. Both of these locations are always clean, friendly, and fast. This morning the drive thru at my usual spot was really backed up so I decided to hit the Starbucks inside the King Soopers down the street.
When I walked in I wasn't greeted, the cashier took my order, and didn't ask for my name. I said thank you and got no response. I was the only person in the store, outside of the security guards talking in a corner, so it didn't take long to make my order. The barista set the cup down once it was finished, didn't say anything to me just stared. The cup had nothing on it however I figured it was mine and picked it up. I smiled and said thank you and again got no response. The barista just stared for a moment and then turned to do something else.
It was definitely not the customer service I am used to from a Starbucks location. Very cold and impersonal. I won't be going to this location again. I'll stick with the two locations I know and the great customer service...

I've never noticed this Starbucks location doing much business and it was very quiet when I visited on a weekday afternoon with only a couple of customers and one barista. Part of the problem may be that the space is very dark and the inside entrance is hidden in the back corner of the deli area. It's hard to see or to realize it is open.
I ordered my usual flat white. It was disappointingly made with way too much oversteamed foam. Contrary to other comments the space seemed clean and all of the products were well-organized. I can certainly see one staffer being overwhelmed trying to keep this huge space tidy while also taking a stream of orders, though. Definitely an odd atmosphere for a Starbucks, especially since the adjacent King Soopers is almost...
Read moreVery sad. I rarely drink Starbucks coffees but thought a barista could help me find a drink. I asked for something sugar-free with high caffeine. The young lady Sha, barely stopped her cleaning or whatever she was doing to let me know she was in a coffee drinker and didn't have any recommendations for me. she'll ordered around as I search the internet on my phone to find a drink that might work. I purchased my drink without a thank you. No manager in sight. Sad experience. Happy Thanksgiving...
