So many things just WRONG with this hotel that has potential to (and could/should) be excellent if managed well.
Avoid this hotel if you are from east coast time zone. Breakfast begins 8am (yes, 11am for us)! When i asked management get this... they said there was not enough business to justify starting earlier. Well… the job of a hotel is to provide for guests! Misplaced priorities here. Whatever happened to hotels catering for customers??? This is a hotel which is apparently part of the worlds biggest hotel chain with travelers from all over the country/world - but they cannot have someone begin breakfast before 11am EST.
Speaking of the breakfast restaurant - tables were not cleaned. We watched one group leave and staff do a cursory sweep of crumbs off the table then the next guests could come in. Accordingly, we noticed table mats were dirty. Really unacceptable levels of hygeine from a supposedly higher quality hotel! Overall the staff in this breakfast cafe really didn’t impress.
Titanium Bonvoy members get $20 per day credit. We were told on check in gratuities not included (so dont forget to tip). They overcharged my invoice at check out. Why.. we were desperate for something at 7am so ordered coffee. But could not order food until 8am. The staff told me; oh we can only make one discount per guest per day. So my coffee was free (at 10am EST) but the breakfast (available 11am EST) had to be paid? What???
Drip coffee at breakfast was charged $5. The muffin ($3) was hard. We returned it and staff apologized that they had ‘mistakenly’ served yesterdays stock. A new one was offered but it was still partly frozen. Not edible! Reported it but staff shrugged and didnt care.
$30 parking. Is this really justified?
I asked pre-arrival for quiet room location and the staff kindly offered me end of corridor on 4th floor. That was nice and considerate.
One day we asked for a wine bottle opener. They promised to send to our room. Took an hour and 2 trips to front desk to finally resolve. Another example of bad management and inconvenience to guests.
We tried to use rooftop bar/restaurant. The two staff greeting us at the entrance looked completely unable to comprehend 2 guests were asking to come in and sit at the bar. Completely untrained and unwelcoming staff. We left and went elsewhere.
Tried contacting hotel GM. Completely unresponsive. One of front desk managers did reply (see explanation of breakfast opening times above).
Overall the hotel is ultra modern, room lights all controlled together by one dimmer switch is a nice idea but actually inconvenient.
This hotel just had so many small details very wrong and it detracted from what should have been a much better stay. the ethos is all about making money, not about caring for guests and providing a convenient and clean environment. Lack of management (GM - Kevin Briggs) accountability was very...

The hotel is located on a corner and my directions took me to the wrong street so I did a lap and found the front entrance. Ample parking in the garage beneath the hotel, although the drive in can be a little tight. Elevator from parking drops you off right at check in.
The lobby is gorgeous with plenty of seating and great decor. Definitively not cookie cutter. There is a bar in the lobby as well, but I did not have a chance to experience it. I had already checked in on the app and saw that they had upgraded me to a king suite. I prefer a physical key and the front desk was extremely helpful and recognized my Marriott status. I was given a clear and concise run down of the hotel since it was my first time there and sent on my way with a promise to deliver anything additional I needed. There are new standard COVID precautions at check-in and hand sanitizer throughout the hotel. Masks are also available at check-in to those in need.
Each hotel room had stickers on the door indicating that they were cleaned and no one had gone in after. It was a nice touch that I haven't seen any other hotel do (and I've been traveling each week this entire year). The suite was gorgeous with plenty of space. A kitchenette with a microwave and fridge, plus seating were next to the living room with a king size pull out sofa if needed. The bedroom was a separate room that was quite large and had an en suite. The bathroom is what really stole the show. Double sinks greet you right away with a toilet to the side. A wet room houses a large soaker tub and 3 waterfall shower heads plus an additional traditional head to give you a spa like experience. The mirrors on the double sinks are motion activated and a neat touch. The bath products are individual which I enjoy versus the wall mounted systems that are slowly taking over. The bed was very comfortable and I appreciated the USB and USB-C along with a traditional outlet next to both sides of the bed.
Breakfast the next day at the hotel's restaurant was easy and delicious. I received any item and drink with my status so I went for the avocado toast with an egg and an iced chai. Both were fantastic, with the toast looking picturesque and tasted even better.
I was sad to leave the Glenmark and already excited for my next visit back. I selfishly don't want anyone to find out about this amazing hotel, but their great work should be...
Read moreGlenmark was super disappointed, and ran away from this place. First of all, the hotel seems new but the amenities are outdated and limited. They offer cheap and small paper cup as coffee mugs in the room. The TV is slow and the window is not sound-proofing and you can clearly hear the street noise. The gym is small and the only treadmill is a peloton one which requires a peloton account to use. The water in the room seems to be going through a war and the bottom seems like a couple of years old. That is not what is expected from a newly renovated 5-star hotel.
Besides amenities, the service and customer services are the most disappointing part of this trip. With Titanium status, they did not offer any upgrade on arrival and gave me a room on the second floor directly across from the elevator and a conference room. My room was in the middle of a group of people who have a bridal event in the next few days. It seems ridiculous that my preference is always on the higher floor and they should ask for respect and avoid placing me in the middle of chaos if they know about the events. The group of people moved stuff all night long and slapped the door, so I can not sleep until 12. Then at 3-4AM, they started using the conference room for their events, involving slapping doors all the time, chatting in the hallway. I could not sleep again and tried to call the front desk and then I found out the phone in my room was broken. When I called, they said they will check. Yes, they did check but did not stop them from what they were doing. They kept what they were doing and I had to get up. In the morning, I messaged the crew via Marriott app, but it seems like they do not feel sorry about this and said they added some points to my point. Guess what? It is 2k points, and it is like a joke. For the Marriott hotel I stayed at, most of the compensation points start with 10K, especially I do not expect this from a severe incident like this (ruined my entire day by taking my sleep away). Then I asked what about tonight, they said they can move me to a different floor and have me upgraded to a suite. After a long day, I came back and they gave me the new key and I had to pack my stuff and move after a long day with sleep deprivation. Then I found out that it is the same room type and it was not an upgrade.
Upon checkout, the front desk was heartless and did not ask about my stay or apologize for all the things that happened. It was a huge shame for this hotel to be...
