I am now 2 for 2 stars in Greeley on hotels. The biggest problems here are: Over controlling customers and front desk with 1 hour limit on Gym and Pool and requiring a signup and front desk person to let you in. This was not true at the Double Tree in same town and was straining on already sparse usually single front desk resource. Lawn was overgrown and would be a fine in my community. Only place the lawn was not overgrown was where the Prairie dogs were which was barren grass an still 3 foot tall weeds that they did not eat. This will in time destroy the sprinkler line and undermine the foundation. Also, long grass promotes place for other undesirable animals to live. Prairie Dogs need to be trapped and relocated before they cause damage to the hotel property and lawn properly maintained. Top floor is not open. Thus, room selection is limited and upgrades on top floor for Diamond members impossible. Late checkout for Diamond members is at Noon which is a bad joke. This is the same time as normal checkout in majority of hotels. This made me have to leave early and not so happy to get back home before work day started. Also, as Titanium member of Marriott I can get 4 or 3 PM late checkout the majority of the time. Bathroom behind door was about 6 inch mold stain where looks like bathroom flooded and was not repaired correctly. Thermostat set-point min was 68 F which is record high and unacceptable for a great new air system that has outlet temp of 49 F which could cool to 60 F easily. TV was a not so great Phillips 40" which is way worse than the 50" that Double Tree had. All Hilton hotels I have stayed at so far had Sanitation Seals on Door to insure you are entering and disinfected space. Reality is you do not know if was sanitized or not when you enter since someone can enter room after it is cleaned. Construction was going on all next door to the Hotel making a mess and noise. Probably because of construction, but really not sure why, the front door was locked during the day. This makes checking in a pain since can be locked out and put more strain on the front desk people to manually open each time. I was told this was for security reasons, but since Greeley is like 10x safer than Downtown Denver Homewood Suites that keep front door open during day this makes no sense. Bed was hard and unconformable and I think something either zipper or feather pillow left me with multiple cuts and little sleep.
The network was good at 20mbs down and 20mbs up, but did get 2 drops of network on Sunday but not sure if this is Hilton IT of hotel related since all hotels in Hilton have daily drop outs which I never experience in Marriott since you set your length of stay and it stays up. Both Joelle and Angel were very sweet and helpful which is something I cannot say for the GM Pam. Also, there was hot food and service there was good as well. For an fairly new hotel was very disappointed in this stay. Hotel has great potential but just not achieving...
Read moreOh Man! Stay away from this location!! I love Homewood Suites, usually. This place looked nice, but the staff and manager, Pam Evans, are terrible. So terrible that we left to find another place to stay, after traveling for almost 12 hours. We got there an hour ahead of check-in, hoping maybe an early check-in available - we were ready to crash. but we understood that might not be possible. First, the front desk staff couldn’t find any rooms under my name. Then found two reservations for another person with the same last name. Finally found me. Then said she didn’t think she could get me in. I asked if there was any way to check. She went in the back. Came back out 3-4 mins later and said her manager said no deal. I asked if we could stay in the lobby until the room is ready. She shrugged her shoulders. I said, ok, so if I come back in an hour, the room will be ready? She said, “well, maybe. There’s no way to guarantee because we’re so busy; every room was booked last night and every one is this night.” So, that’s when I got frustrated. I asked to speak to the manager. Boy was that a mistake. This woman - Pam Evans - comes out, no mask, scowl on her face, and these crazy long yellow nails, that she frequently used to point at me. She basically said, too bad. Come back at 3pm and maybe your room will be ready. She was incredibly aggressive and I just said, “wait... hold on, I’m the customer here... I booked a room to stay at 3pm. There wasn’t a maybe-3pm check-in.” She got super mad. Reprimanding me in a condescending manner, accusing me of yelling her, declaring the conversation over. Insisting I shut up or she’d make me leave. I was astounded. Crazy thing was that there was a guest sitting about 10 feet behind me the entire time and didn’t hear a word I said. So, obviously not yelling. They could hear her, however. I’m basically in tears and just sit down. My cell signal was really bad there, so I asked if there was a way that I could access the Internet on a guest basis so I could tell people that I wouldn’t be meeting them as planned. The manager came back out and said that I could have access at 3pm. It was at that point that I went outside, called a hotel 10 mins away, and switched. As I went back in to grab my husband and bags, I told her that we wouldn’t need the room since we’re going across town. She said, “That’s fine. Glad to hear it. I’ll still be charging your card for the room.” I asked why that was since she said she didn’t know if she could get me into the room I booked at the time I booked it for. She just repeated that she was charging my card. I asked for the name and contact info for her manager. She said she didn’t have one. I said, well, that can’t be true since you’re not the CEO. She got bright red and said, this conversation is over! Get out. Wowza! ...
Read moreMy first "fun" trip since covid-19 was One of my worst experiences at a Hilton property. This room was not clean, I definitely felt unwelcome here. Every time I asked for something (extra towels for example) I was either questioned as to if I forgot to put out the towels before I left or was told there was already 4 sets and I guess that's enough? I'm fat. I need more than one towel for my body and felt like I wasn't allowed to ask, I felt embarrassed and like I was bothering the manager or the Front desk clerk. I asked for extra pillows, was told that there are 2 extra, again, that's not what I felt I needed. I asked for toothpaste and was given mouthwash without being told they didn't have toothpaste. Pans, dishes, and pots were in the cabinet as if they were clean, I have photos of food still inside the bowls here, food stuck on pans, and a dull knife that is bent. When I called tonight to ask for towels the man who answered the phone laughed at me 3 times when I was talking first because I didn't leave the room to put the towels out then twice more. No sponge or soap to wash dishes& the dish soap that was brought to me feels like water, it is very liquid like. My neighbor gave me his dish soap, same brand, but it was thick like soap. I'm wondering, what does this location have against me? What did I do to be given a dirty and dusty room and then be grilled about why I'm not leaving things outside my door before asking for clean towels. My cousin is staying with me and has an autoimmune disorder, so cleanliness was the bare minimum I expected. I leave soon and thankfully, I'll not have to comeback to Greeley. Also what happened to the Hilton Clean Stay stickers, so I could stay worry free? Masks aren't enforced here, so why couldn't the room be sanitized and clean? I tried to call and ask about availability to extend one night and before I even told Angel (the clerk who answered the phone) which day I was asking about she said "were sold out" and when I said "I haven't even told you what day yet," she said "oh ok,' I said I wanted to reserve a room for one more night and was told they will not reserve a room without 2 nights minimum. I only stay at Hilton Properties and they obviously do not care, I've been asking for help dealing with this reservation/stay for 5 days. Waste of...
