Cafe Mexicali — Restaurant in Greeley

"Hello :)!", Which should've been what the employees said to me. Instead I got attitude. I'm giving this place a one star because it has not been the first time the employees have been disrespectful to me. But this night 12/12/24 takes the cake for worst service I've ever had. I walked in and was not greeted at all. The blonde girl behind the counter at first ignored me, but maybe she was busy which is fine. Anyway, I ordered my inside out burrito which she aggressively put together and when she was done chucked in the little oven they use to heat up the cheese. This might've been my mistake but, I told her that I wanted another inside out burrito the exact same as the one I just ordered. She proceeded to respond with "alright is this the last one im making exactly like the other one?" (Very annoyed sounding). I was taken by surprise and replied "yeah...". When she was done with that inside out burrito she also chucked it in the oven (it jumped a little and some cheese and food spilt over). I then walked over to the cashier and told him "she was very rude". He ignored me and asked "what did you have" i replied an inside out burrito and repeated "she was very rude" ignored me again and asked "what kinda meat"...."chicken." I said a THIRD TIME! "SHE WAS VERY RUDE TO ME" ignored..."what else". I said "I'm not paying for this." And left. At no moment was I rude to either of them. I said hello I explained my order calmly, I didn't even yell or make a scene at the end. BTW there was no reason to try to rush me out of there there was no huge line. I checked just to make sure I wasn't holding it up. The cashier was a tall brown haired guy and the girl was a blonde one with what I think is a neck tattoo? The were both working around 7 or 8ish...

i love this restaurant, i go quite often, but today when i went in (over an hour before closing), i had a bad experience :((( when ordering at the beginning of the line i asked for a smothered burrito, no side please! i didn’t want the lettuce or chips, and usually i don’t have any issues after communicating that to the first employee on the line. but after my burrito came out another employee put the lettuce on the side, and once i saw that i verbatim said “oops, im so sorry, can i please get that without the lettuce” and the employee looked at me rolled her eyes and snatched the lettuce out the dish, along with some white sauce 💔 and didn’t say a word to me, i still thanked her, but the attitude was insane. i work in fast food/service industry, and i have NEVER once experienced behavior like that in any restaurant i’ve been to or worked at. i came in on 6/16/2025 at around 7:50pm, and the worker was a bottom heavy white girl with medium length blonde hair. and once i was at the checkout i asked for a bit more white sauce because so much of it was snatched out with the lettuce that i could see more than 50% of the aluminum dish underneath was dry. and THEY CHARGED ME FOR “EXTRA” WHITE SAUCE. like please i just wanted what was originally on my burrito before it was taken off 💔 im so sad because i used to love this place but the employees turn me off from wanting...

Don’t get me wrong, the food is great. And so is the service usually, but not this time. I ordered online with their curbside to go option with a pick up time of 6:30. I got there about 6:25 and parked in their curbside pick up spot. I tried calling the number on the sign and got the “this number is no longer in service message” and then got the same message when I tried calling their business number from online. I waited until 6:45 (giving them a little extra time because it looked like they were busy) and then I finally decided to go in...defeating the purpose of curbside pick up. When I told the guy at the front I was there he just grabbed my order from a shelf...I told him I tried calling when I got there and he said “oh yeah, the phones are down”, like it was no big deal.

The kicker is that when I checked out online for curbside pick up it had me put my make, model and color of my vehicle in, so even though their phones weren’t working they probably should have brought my food out when it was ready, right?!
