I want to start off by saying that our waitress, Kendal, was amazing! Some of the best service we have received in a while. I will also state that the restaurant was clean and it had a nice decor.
The food. It was perfectly cooked for each dish which we ordered and the presentation was very nice. I think the cooks did an amazing job with prepping what the restaurant has on their menu. I did knock a star off though. I docked a star because because for the price we paid for each dish, I didn't feel it was up to par. I ordered the Peach Halibut (my first choice was the Noodle Bowl, but I passed because I wanted fish and not just shrimp). Anyway, for the Peach Halibut, the peach salsa and the balsamic reduction were all that had flavor. The fish and the rice seemed to have almost no flavor whatsoever so the salsa and balsamic just took over everything, even the asparagus. Rather than complementing the fish or the rice, they just overpowered what was supposed to be there. It was a similar experience for lobster tots appetizer; just lacking in flavor. Needless to say I was a bit disappointed. While the main course for me was okay, the fish and chips for my wife were spot on and fantastic.
Kendal listened to our feedback and gave a piece of cheesecake as a peace offering. This was also a let down. Plain piece of cheesecake with a spoonful of blueberry compote on top. It was just lackluster and lacked the creative enthusiasm of many of their other dishes. The price (yes we got it free, but the bill showed us what the cost was) is more than most other places for dessert and just did not live up to the price tag.
I think these are just menu ingredient changes that should be made. As I said, the cooks did an amazing job and the food was prepared perfectly, I just think the directions they are following could...
Read moreA Perfect Dining Experience. From the moment we stepped through the doors, it was clear this would be a meal to remember. The warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for an exceptional evening, but it was the outstanding service and delectable cuisine that truly stole the show. Our waitresses, Veronica and Julie, were nothing short of amazing. They greeted us with genuine smiles and an infectious enthusiasm that instantly made us feel welcome. Their attentiveness throughout the evening was impeccable; they were always there when we needed them, yet never intrusive. Veronica's insightful recommendations from the menu were spot-on, while Julie's expert knowledge of the dessert list ensured we had the perfect pairing for our meal. Their seamless teamwork and genuine passion for their work were evident and greatly enhanced our dining experience. And the food? It was, in a word, perfect. Each dish that arrived at our table was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation. The ingredients were clearly fresh, and the chef's skill was evident in every bite. From the perfectly cooked wagyu to the rich and flavorful lobster stuffed avocado, every element of the meal was executed with precision and creativity. In a time when exceptional customer service can be hard to come by, Veronica and Julie are a shining example of how it's done. Coupled with a kitchen that is clearly passionate about its craft, this restaurant delivers an all-encompassing, five-star experience. We will certainly be returning, and we'll be asking to be seated in Veronica and Julie's...
Read moreWe arrived at the restaurant at about 5:00 pm. This was on a Monday. I was in a large group so some of my experiences might be affected by that. Lucky Fins had a very friendly staff. We had to wait a few minutes for the table to be ready. The decor of the building was very nice. After we got to the table however the waitress was there to get our drink orders. When I got my drink (Sprite) it was very light on the syrup. After we had got our drinks we were ready to order our appetizers. We ordered the edamame and their key lime calamari. The edamame was well cooked but had no seasoning. I had to add additional salt so it could have some flavor. The calamari was good but was very tough. The aioli sauce it came with however was delicious! A couple minutes later the waitress came back and asked for our orders. I got their Fin’s Famous Fish and Chips. After we all ordered we had to wait a LONG time for our food. And what I can say about the meal is that just like the edamame it had little to no seasoning. I had to dip the fish in the tartar sauce so it could have some flavor. The fries were cooked to perfection but I had to add salt or dip them in ketchup so they weren’t bland. The meal also came with Fugi Apple Slaw. When I got it I was eager to try some. I haven’t been to this restaurant before so I’m not sure if it is supposed to be served at room temperature. That is definitely how it arrived though. By the time we were all done with our meal it was about 6:30 pm and it was very busy. TLDR: Friendly atmosphere, under seasoned food, expensive for what you...
