We visited Friday 7/18/25 at 6 pm. It was very busy with multiple groups from 2 to 4+ people waiting. The bar had a few single seats open but was otherwise full. We were told the wait was about 20 minutes. We waited 45 minutes for a table which isn't unusual for a Friday evening and we weren't surprised.
Unfortunately for the restaurant there were multiple tables of people that had finished their meals, paid, and were just sitting sipping water and banging away on their phones. A polite nudge from staff/the manager would help move those that linger along to open tables faster. I.e. "We're really busy tonight. Is there anything else I can get you before you leave?" ...Or something along those lines.
They also "hold" a few large communal tables open for large groups according to our server and one of the hostesses. I would recommend changing those communal tables to high tops you can push together if needed but otherwise make useof the space.
It took a handful of minutes for our server to check with us once we were seated. It was busy so no worries there. Service during the meal was ok but I did have to do a cartwheel or three to get an ice tea and water refill.
The food was pretty good. I had a house salad with homemade ranch dressing and the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was good but the gravy tasted a little like it came from a mix. The potatos and chicken were good. The chicken was juicy and tender with a flavorful crust and the potatoes tasted house made. I definitely prefer the version from Roadhouse but the G.O.A.T. was a close 2nd. The homemade ranch dressing on the salad was very good.
My wife had the tomato basil soup and The Porker sandwich which was smoked pulled pork with cheddar, crispy jalapeƱos, pickles, and bourbon bbq sauce. For a non-BBQ place it was pretty good, better than I expected. The tomato basil soup was a pass however. If there was basil in it we sure couldn't taste it. It was a pretty basic tasting tomato soup.
Overall it's a solid place with a great "sports bar" atmosphere. Plenty of TVs to watch sports and a nice bar if you prefer to sit there. They also have a very nice outdoor seating area. We would go back and we also recommend it if you're looking for a nicer sports bar in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEdit: With such a quick and excellent owner response I'm tipping this from a 3 star to a 4 star. Original review is still below.
First off, I was really waffling between a 4 star and 3 star review. This should really be taken as a 3.5. Let's start with the good:
Service was good, especially for not being open very long. The place was full when I got there, stayed full throughout my stay, and the service was timely. I didn't feel like anything was delayed which means they are doing a great job training and managing the front and the back. The server and the person who brought out the food were really nice to my kids and even asked me if I was OK with them having glassware, which is something most servers don't ask and I have to ask about after they've already put a full glass in front of my 4 year old. A minor thing, but the attention to detail is much appreciated. The wait time for how full it was was also great, and again the fact that they had it this together this early into their tenure is impressive. TV's were plentiful, although having a few more TV's and a few larger ones is probably needed, especially for major sporting events where some people may get less than ideal seating.
The only thing I could really fault them on was the food, and it isn't that it's bad, but that it seems like they're really focused on pre-made items. That being said, they've clearly chosen a vendor based on quality and not price. The food was good, but I was hoping it would be higher quality pub food with more housemade items like D.C. Oakes rather than nearly everything, if not everything, coming pre-made. I'm pretty certain that even the burger was a pre-made patty, and that's one of the easiest things to do in house and adds so much more flavor when it's not sitting around highly compacted for hours or days on end.
At the end of the day, I would definitely come back. They treated my family and I great, were fast and efficient, and although the food wasn't where I'd like it to be it certainly wasn't bad. I would recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToo cool for school bartender didnāt even acknowledge me for close to 5 minutes as I stood at the bar waiting to place a to go order. This was 5:00pm and it was dead. He had probably 5 people at his bar and there were only maybe 10-15 people max in the dining area and patio combined. First he stood there talking to another server, no acknowledgment, nothing. Not hello, Iāll be right with you, not hey, whatās up, nothing. Then he slothily paced around the bar with a gallon of milk to put in his cooler, talked to some guys sitting at his bar, then came back and still nothing. Unreal to be honest. I was the only standing at his bar. Gee dude, you think Iām just standing there for no reason? Get a clue lol. Iāve seen many bartenders just like him. They have this aura of arrogance and/or ignorance, maybe both. Maybe he was stoned, I donāt know, just no energy and zero awareness . Iāve seen many other bartenders who are lively, energetic, they acknowledge you even when busy (this guy wasnāt busy). This guy was literally the worst. I have no idea what his name was, but he had a cool, trendy mustache, with a St. Louis Cardinals hat. Then, magically, a girl named Evelyn had awareness and noticed I wasnāt standing at the bar to breathe Mr. Cool Mustache Bartender guys precious air and she immediately asked if I had been helped and I said no with a laugh. That dude seriously sucks bad. Evelyn took my to go order and the food is amazing, like really good. Iād highly recommend this place for the food. To the bartender. Youāre not that cool bro. Maybe shave the trendy mustache, drink a red bull , have some energy, and at least say hi, acknowledge your customers. Not that...
