There is quite a bit to like here. The atmosphere is decent. It's not amazing; it is an update on the restaurant that used to be there, but not significantly remarkable. That being said, it's good for a date night or a bite to eat before a show at the theater next door.
It's definitely not a place for small kids. I think the only thing a 3-year-old was guacamole (hold the peppers) and orange juice.
The drink selection was fairly limited. The house margarita was excellent, as was the freshly squeezed orange juice. For an appetizer we got guacamole, which we agreed was too small for the price and the quantity of chips with which it was served. It was decent guacamole, though, especially if you like it on the spicy side.
We got their Thursday special, mushroom tempura tacos. We both liked these spicy, delicious tacos very much. I also tried the avocado tacos and Thai Brussels tacos, both made vegan, and both pretty good. Overall the tacos were a hit.
The server we had was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. She was able to make solid recommendations for which kind of tortillas to use with which tacos and which could be made vegan.
If I could change one thing, I'd say add a few more options, especially for little kids, but having a burrito or fajita plate would also go a long way. If you love tacos, or margaritas, though, this place has some amazing ones.
Update: after coming here again after such a long time, the experience was a bit lacking. Their options are more limited than they were previously, which lowered my enthusiasm a bit. Drinks and guacamole are still good, but...
Read moreWe visited there last night with some friends (4 people total). We got there and told them we are a party of four and there was an open table that we were told we couldn’t have because our party wasn’t big enough. Plenty of couples at a four person table too. We said we would just sit at the bar until a table was available and then we were told that we couldn’t sit at the bar unless we were eating food. Okkkkaayyy so we can’t sit at an available table AND we can’t sit at the bar. So the manager tells us that we can go next door and have a drink until our table is ready. So we did for 20 mins until our table was ready and we walked back to Cantina. When the waiter came to get our drink order, my friend ordered a whiskey old fashion and the waiter very abruptly said, “I don’t make those.” Completely unfriendly and full of attitude. That was it. We got up to leave and I told the manager that we were leasing due to his rude server. I cannot imagine turning customers away and then being rude to them. Good luck vintage cantina, my money supported another local...
Read moreThis place is a hidden gem in Green Bay. Almost literally! You could drive or walk right past it and not even realize that it is there. Stopped here for the first time on a whim for some impromptu tacos. Sampled about 8 things on the menu.......a great idea but also a bad idea. Let me say this, everything on the menu that we tried was excellent. Every. Single. Thing. The food is uniquely prepared and they have menu items that you will not find anywhere else. The only reason it was a bad idea, was because I have no self control and could not stop myself from continuing to order taco after taco after taco. Their salsa and homemade taco dip is phenomenal. The "pickled" fruit didn't seem very pickled, and the homemade margarita mix wasn't that great, but that won't prevent me from giving a 5 star rating. The place has awesome decor and a great/fun atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly. They have a great beer and liquor selection (Casamigos tequila for the win!). So glad to have found this place. Live 30 mins away, but will continue to come...
