This is a kid friendly haunted "Museum" put on by, not only the Williams family, but a whole crew of people. Some nights there are as many as 25 actors or volunteers working in this event. Every year it changes and grows. It started off as a huge collection of Halloween decorations and props and gets bigger and better every year and changes every year so you will never see the same show from one year to the next. It is a charity event which raises money for multiple charities, most include the PTO's of the Grosse Pointe elementary schools. The smaller kids are offered light sticks to ward off any scary monsters. The concession stand offers freshly cooked doughnuts that are to "die" for. They also offer hot or cold cider or cocoa and hot dogs. The displays you will see are years and years of collecting and building and every year they get more and more advanced. Some of the props are one of a kind creations that you will never see anywhere else. Others are very rare props that aren't around any more. It's a great time, right in your own Grosse Pointe - back yard! If you had to drive to a haunted house from the Grosse Pointe area, it would take at least 40 minutes and you would spend way more on gas and the entrance fee then going to the Haunted Garage. The kids probably wouldn't have near as much fun either, because most haunted houses aren't great for the younger kids. You will never be able to take in everything there is to see by only going through it once. You will want to see it again and again and once you do, you will want to tell your friends to go too! This rivals many of the more well-known & commercial "haunts" in the Detroit area!! The best part? It's for charity!! It's a fundraiser, and you won't believe the amount of time & effort that's been put into getting this together. Srsly. Great decor, awesome venue, friendly folks, and... the icing on the proverbial cake... the donuts are SO FRESH, they're WARM when you get them. Like, right out of the fryer, warm! Delicious, pillowy soft, and melt-in-your-mouth goodness. The apple slushie is amazing as well, fresh-pressed apple taste, with caramel & whipped cream, an incredible delight for your taste buds. Still, can't say enough about the venue... and my daughter went nuts over the dinos! Just really well-done, incredibly well-produced, scares by the yard!! You know this place is fascinating. It's like at somebody's house but somehow they turn it into a very elaborate and unique haunted house and somehow make it long. I am a haunted house junkie and this is one of my favorites. And the warm Donuts at the end is awesome. And they do this for charity. Actually quite amazing. Not to mention at the end of the haunted house, you walk in to this magical Christmas world inside the house so it goes from Halloween to Christmas and it's amazing.
