3 strikes and you're out Da Edoardo! My 1st visit was at the downtown detroit location where the service was extremely slow. I was with a party of 6, and we weren't offered the opportunity to reorder drinks, our food was brought out in intervals (3hr dinner), and some people were done eating while others had not received their food. The worse part we were served 2 baskets of moldy bread! The compensation offered for this health risk snafu was 10% off dessert, no thanks. About a year later I was invited to dinner at the same downtown location, my 2nd visit the service was extremely slow and we had to play find the waitress again BUT there wasn't any visible mold this time, the food was hot, fresh & delicious. Yesterday was my 3rd (and final) visit this time at the Grosse Pointe location. We went for dinner at 8pm, we were seated right away as the restaurant was pretty empty, and the waitress took our order quickly. They also brought the food quickly, to quick. The soup was room temperature. We ordered 2 dinners spaghetti & meatballs and the lobster ravioli. The sauce was salty, and the meatballs were cold, the middle felt as if they just came out the fridge. The waitress took the dish and microwaved it and when she returned it was smoking and the sauce was bubbling hot. Unfortunately this made the meatballs so dry they needed a steak knife to slice through them! It wasn't edible. The waitress told my boyfriend "we have good food and everyone loves our food" but since he didnt "like it" and didnt eat it they will remove the cost from our bill. Another disappointment the lobster ravioli was served warm (I was starving so I ate it as is), the ravioli was packed with lobster, the sauce was salty but made well, I liked the dish until I pulled a blonde hair out of my mouth. Unfortunately I have yet to experience good food or service at Da Edoardo, just a series of disappointments. I will not be back and until they make some serious changes I don't reccomend anyone going. Sadly, Carrabba's lobster ravioli is just as good and it's not served with hair. Also, the waitress was nice but lacked professionalism and was not properly trained on how to serve at what they consider to be a fine dining establishment. She reached all over our table, put her hand in the bread basket with a pen in it, didnt make the olive oil dip but left the bottle and bowl of parmesan and told us to do it ourselves on our bread plates. We were seated by the kitchen (even though there were a dozen open tables) and we were able to hear full conversations of the waitstaff and the kitchen staff, it destroyed the ambience . It was like being at a regular bar, which is actually where we went next to have dinner since our $100 dinner was an epic fail. I love to support local business and wish they valued their business more so that value would be passed on to the customer.

Went to Da Edorado last night. We sat on the patio and it was very relaxing! We had Abe as our waiter and he was great. We got the calamari as our app and unfortunately we had to send it back due to it sitting in a pool of oil. We received a new one, and this one had way too much batter. If you look at our plates and in the bowl, you’ll see all the batter we had to take off. Abe was very accommodating and took it away because he saw we were not happy. My friend got a dirty martini (the description says olive juice and blue cheese olives) and it came out with just Hendricks. Was a little confused by that but we sent it back and got a new one! I got the house salad with chicken and she got the chicken Marsala - both were great. We were there for 3 hours so definitely longer than we’d like - our dinner took quite a bit to come out. I probably won’t be back but I appreciate Abe being very accommodating.

The Bistecca alla Fiorentina at DaEdoardo’s Restaurant is a true culinary masterpiece. This 44oz Creekstone Farms Prime Porterhouse is accompanied by a generous selection of salad, soup, pasta, potatoes, and vegetables - enough to feed a family of four. The chef expertly seasons and sears the steak to perfection, creating a mouthwatering experience. My 10-year-old son and I shared this delectable feast cooked to a medium-rare perfection, and it truly stands out as one of the best steaks we've ever had. Both the strip side and the filet side offer exceptional flavors. The chef thoughtfully slices the bone for sharing, leaving us with plenty leftover for a delightful second meal. I highly recommend this exceptional entree, available only on Fridays and Saturdays.

I will start off with atmosphere. Its very relaxing and had a wonderful time. Ranging from the decor/lighting/seating arrangement. I always forget to take pictures mostly because enjoying the time. The lighting is darker which is nice and have perfect amount of lighting over the table. Music plays just loud enough that other conversations are nulled but the conversation at the table is heard perfectly.

Service is perfect.

Food is perfect, definitely layers of flavor that come through. Such as the spicy calamari. Best I have had. You have a creamy sauce which is sweet/hint of salt and compliments the dish. Then you get hit with a nice sour from the hot pepper which gives takes it to the next level. I have a high spice tolerance so I cannot tell you if its actually spicy. Not a complaint by the way as I wouldnt want it at that spice level. I had the tortellini which has green peas, and prosciutto with it. It was an excellent combination. My wife enjoyed the spinach lasagna which I had a taste of and I will get that for myself next time or if the chefs special is Scallops, Mashed Potatos, and green beans. Was a hard choice as everything on the menu looks great. We also tried the bruschetta, it was excellent as well. We ended our night with the carrot cake. It of course was delicious. It had raisins and coconut which was a new way to enjoy it for me. We plan on trying the tiramisu our next visit.

I noticed others getting steak and looks excellent as well.

Well I honestly have no complaints. I recommend it here. For us will be special occasions. Thank you for a...

I live close by this restaurant and I enjoy their minestrone soup, however, the service has been abysmal lately. On the past couple of occasions I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but it is clear that this is their third strike. I placed a simple order for carryout and upon my arrival the hostess did not greet me. She was on the phone, so I waited but she was wrapped up trying to take an order from another patron for more than 5 minutes. She was an older woman and repeatedly had difficulty hearing the person on the other end (she had the same issue with my order when I called). Multiple other servers and bus boys walked by me and looked at me without any greeting or asking if I needed help. Another couple entered after me and were taken care of first since they were "dining in". I waited almost 10 minutes just to ask to pick up my order that was clearly sitting on the bar simply to be told that it was being packed up and I needed to wait even longer. There were less than 10 patrons in the restaurant and at least 6 staff that I saw. My total bill was $40 for a quart of soup and a chicken caesar salad. At prices like this I expect very good service, but Da Edoardo continues to come up very short. I do not recommend visiting this establishment. It is a faded memory of the lovely establishment it was years ago...
