Just shy of a year ago, after months of consuming a voluminous amount of information and reviews on mattresses that may address my myriad of needs, my wife and I decided to go look at some mattresses. I am by no means an expert, but I did know a bit about mattresses. Our first stop was Mattress Firm where my wife, son, and I were pleasantly and professionally greeted by Erika; there was another lady in the store that was courteous as well. After letting Erika know that we may not buy anything that day we discussed my requirements and the issues I needed to address, which were many.
Without any sales pressure and with a confident, customer-focused demeanor Erika began educating me about the various options available and the things I wanted to consider in both a mattress and bed frame while differentiating between needs and niceties. Now, I am known for being quite direct with comments and questions and Erika responded professionally and courteously the entire time. I tried one mattress in particular that felt perfect for me.
After consuming quite a bit of her time, we thanked her, asked her for her card, and went to other places that sold mattresses. Some of the stores were high-dollar retailers. We tried some of the mattresses, but the sales associates either didn’t know much about the products or completely ignored us even after being in the store for about 15 minutes and trying to get anyone’s attention. I told my wife I was done and I knew what I wanted; we headed back to Mattress Firm.
Again, we were greeted professionally and courteously. We let the lady know that we were there earlier and would like to speak with Erika when she finished with the customers with whom she was occupied. When Erika came up to us and greeted us politely with a smile, I promptly told her, “I’m here to buy.” I pointed to the mattress I wanted, asked for two adjustable bed frames, and mattress covers. All of the paperwork was done with each and every item addressed whilst getting us the best deals that they had available on the items we purchased. Everything went flawlessly and everything was delivered when promised.
Over the past year, I have called the store with questions now and then and everyone was always courteous and went out of their way to ensure that was my question was sufficiently addressed. I have been 100% satisfied with my purchase and associated service including the delivery folks that had a good sense of humor. I use the massage feature every night to summons The Sandman.
Today, I called the store to give them feedback about both the products and service. Jayme (supervisor) was as pleasant as she could be and I actually got to speak with Erika and thank her as well. Lady Erika and the others at this location of Mattress Firm certainly set the standard by which others ought to be judged.

We thought we were safe with the 10 year guarantee and our return was approved for a faulty mattress (it sank down in a certain area), but when we went to get the guarantee honored we could not afford the exact same bed anymore because prices had gone up. We could not get cash back for the value we paid, so we were forced to pick a lower quality mattress and still pay more on top of the return credit. Plus, we also had to pay $100 delivery fee again! We asked if we could pick it up ourselves and that was refused also. That is not what a guarantee is. That is a money grabbing scam and terrible policy. A guarantee means I get what I paid for and I don't pay anything else. Not a worse product and you take more of my money. Read moreHad a great experience purchasing a new mattress for my wife and I. The associate Jayme L. Ruszkowski was very helpful and considerate of our needs. The mattress we went to purchase was not there or on display but she showed us to one that was similar in feel for us to test out. She was also very knowledgeable in the different types of mattress and what would fit our needs. During our time there, a woman, and a family came into the store. While we were waiting for paperwork to print out Ms. Ruszkowski asked the family who was closer to her if they needed help, and the other woman got upset because she was there first. But Ms. Ruszkowski handled herself well and diffused any type of negative confrontation quickly and helped both customers efficiently.
