STAY AWAY! We bought our king mattress and within the first year we had 1½" divets on each side to the point that the mattress had to be turned sideways in order to avoid back problems from the craters in the mattress. We have the warranty and tried making a claim. The manufacturer, KINGSDOWN, denied it 3xs. Each time they denied it, I supplied pictures proving that what they are claiming is false. They then would come back with a different reason to deny our claim. They provided 3 different denials with a different reason each time... How is this possible?! First, the box springs are worn.... Proved that wrong. Second denial, the number of slats aren't adequate... Proved that wrong. Third denial, now it's an improper frame.... According to THEIR WARRANTY DOCUMENTS AND PICTURES, our EXACT foundation and frame are pictured on THEIR warranty form. The number of slats we have is EXACTLY what warranty requires. We have refuted every claim they have made and now we are stuck with a sideways mattress that kills our back. $2k should last longer than 1yr. This store deals with manufactures that DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTIES and they could care less. I was told by Lamar that a district manager would be calling me... Of course that never happened and no one else has reached out! The customer service is atrocious and the clear and blatant, wrongful, fabricated denials of warranty claims should be illegal! Pick a company that stands by their products and warranties! Not one that makes false statements to avoid warranty...
Read moreJust another day giving a bad review to a place that had so many good reviews but, also a couple of bad reviews in which myself and my wife experienced some rudeness from Jayme the manager. At first it was a pleasant greeting and a tour of all their mattresses. She gave some good information but, at some point in our visit it became uncomfortable. She kept saying that she wanted to "EDUCATE" us on mattresses and wanted to make sure we know what to watch out at other places and questions we should ask. I'm not sure how many times she repeated that but, it was like we were getting a lecture and that we were kids or something. Also, after we told her that they were our first stop but, we still wanted to visit other places to be able to make an informed decision she kept pushing for the sale until it became uncomfortable again. She kept repeating she wanted to be the first and last stop and not a callback option. At that point my wife was walking out the door and was in no mood to stay any longer. I know for the majority anyone working in sales works on some type of commission. However, you should get to the point where you are so pushy that you run customers off. I've worked in retail for 20 or so years and have learned that you need to feel out your customers and don't be so pushy to the point where you run them off. I'm sure they have great products but, when the store manager acts like that it will only drive...
Read moreMattress Direct in Gulfport MS knowingly sells defective beds. You must purchase a mattress cover ($175) in order to receive the warranty. Their beds begin to concave after only a few months. The ridiculous task you have to perform in order to prove your bed is defective involves driving to their store, picking up a wooden block, 2 washers, and weed eater string. You must also completely dismantle your bed and take pictures. The block, washers and weed eater string has to be returned before your claim is submitted. Then you wait for your warranty to be approved. Hopefully if it's approved it doesn't "accidentally" get lost or deleted. If this happens, they'll have to resubmit your claim and you'll have to wait again. If your warranty is again approved and they find that your bed is indeed defective, then you will be charged $80 for a delivery fee. Which is a fee that has already been paid and should not be charged over and over in the event you, again, receive another defective bed. Save yourself the hassle and buy from a more reputable company. You can confirm my claim and many others through complaints filed with BBB. Mattress Direct is a...
