Tried Pedro’s for the first time and I was very disappointed! As a girl who grew up in CA, I know that good real mexican food is very hard to find down south, so my expectations aren’t very high to begin with. First of all, it’s way overpriced! $40 for a crappy drink and mediocre food! To started, I ordered their “skinny margarita”, and even specified to the waiter that I just wanted tequila, lime juice, and triple sec! Can’t get any easier! Why then was the margarita I got half full of club soda? There is no real margarita recipe in the world with club soda. So, I went up and asked the bartender what the heck she put in my marg, thinking maybe she tried to make a mojito instead, but nope! She said, “that’s how we make margaritas here”! I handed it back to her and asked for one, again, tequila, lime juice, and triple sec. What I got the second time didn’t have the club soda, but it was the worst margarita I’ve ever had. So… either get better bartenders who actually know how to make a drink, or put a disclaimer on the drink menu letting folks know that your margarita will be served with club soda. Of course, they add it so they don’t have to add as much tequila but again, club soda goes in mojitos, not margaritas!! As for the food, I ordered the fajita bowl, and it was decent. I tried some of my friends food; a chile relleno and enchilada and those were not good at all! Very bland! Needless to say, I won’t be back! Attached in the photo is a recipe for a real margarita. Someone should pass this along...
Read moreI’m going to start off by saying that this restaurant is by no means “affordable”, but I firmly disagree that affordability should be a factor in a review.
5 stars because it was delicious, quick, friendly, clean (yes, even the bathrooms) AND our waiter was extremely patient with me when I couldn’t decide what to eat. He also went above and beyond in helping my 5 year old get her yo-yo back.
The kids meal cheeseburger and kids taco plate were “juicy and flavorful”, according to my kids.
I had the puff taco and now I think everyone needs to try it. Amazing combination of the crispy/chewy shell soaking up the flavor of the tender beef.
The salsa is unlike any similar restaurant I’ve been to on the gulf coast and their bean dip is “chef’s kiss” perfect balance of flavor and consistency; the salsa mixed with the cheese dip is dangerously yummy.
Someone complained about the $10 cheese dip in a review above me. First, don’t order it if you don’t like the price. Second, it was me + 3 kids and we all had plenty, plus had some to take home. Honestly a better value than the places charging $5 for a small salsa bowls’ worth. If I had gotten that much cheese dip elsewhere, it probably would have been $15…so 🤷🏼♀️.
It is definitely not a place to go if you’re on a tight budget and I personally did not realize that either, but I’m not about leaving bad reviews just because I can’t necessarily afford the place. I won’t be taking the kids back any time soon, but I will be back for a date night with...
Read moreOverpriced for value and the worst margarita I’ve ever had. I ordered a skinny margarita and was shocked when it came and was half full of club soda. Especially, when I specifically told the waiter, I only wanted tequila, lime, juice, and triple sec. So, I went up and asked the bartender if she accidentally was trying to make me a Mojito, which would have club soda, and she said no, that’s how we make our margaritas here. I handed it back and asked for one the way I asked the first time, and it was so gross I couldn’t even drink it! I ordered the fajita bowl, and while it tasted OK, it definitely was not worth the price. I tasted some of my friend’s food, an enchilada and chili relleno, and it was so bland! I grew up in CA, so I have very low expectations of these Tex Mex chains as it is, but this place is one of the worst. Either teach your staff how to make real margaritas (picture of an example for a classic marg recipe attached), or put a disclosure on the menu that you serve them half full of club soda so folks aren’t surprised like I was. $40 for subpar food and a crappy drink is...
