My experience from the beginning was very unprofessional to say the least. The salesman asked me if I wanted to see if I were approved and that it would be a soft pull, he actually did a hard pull on my credit report ,which affected my score from the beginning! I told him this and he acted oblivious to it! He immediately told me I was approved for anything in the store. I pick a bedroom suit out, it totals to $4500. He says I only need to pay three hundred and something down and 30 something monthly payments. I choose that bedroom suit. He comes back out, asks if I could put $1000 down with $50 monthly payments, since it was interest-free,i agreed! I put down $1000 which leaves me $3500 balance. He's very kind and knowledgeable about the furniture and he QUICKLY gets me out of there and on my way. Furniture shows up, everything is wonderful... I'm a happy owner! A week later I receive a BEDS TO GO credit card, I have absolutely no clue why I received this at the time. 2 weeks later I decided to add my bills up, so I decided to call the # on the card. Turns out my monthly payments ended up being $70, not the agreed amount of $50. Although I was already planning to pay $100 a month, it wasn't a big deal. The very next morning (today), I get a notification on my phone that my credit score dropped, I immediately open my credit score app and first thing I see is that my score dropped over 100 points!!! Investigating further, I noticed the card only had a $3500 limit and the balance owed towards it was also $3500!! They shipped me a maxed out credit card!! Now the biggest deal of all is they never once mentioned any type of credit card! I financed the bedroom suit, absolutely, but I would never in 4 lifetimes pay $1000 down with a remaining balance of $3500 put onto a credit card that I would have to max out to get the furniture! Who does this?? If this isn't entrapment then what is?!! Not a word of any credit card, not a word of my ALLOWED amount I was really approved for! NOTHING!! I was told I was approved for anything in the store! THEY DECIEVED ME from the first conversation! If you do business with ROOMS TO GO, be cautious ppl! Just know they'll ask for a down payment, then they'll get you approved for the remaining balance of the furniture on a creditcard. You'll have to max it out to pay for it! They've ruined my credit, not to mention it'll take 2 solid years, paying $100 a month to get that card to 1/3 the balance it needs to be before my credit score goes up again! Terrible system they're running and I gaurentee you guys, I'm not the only one this has happened too! Companies/salesmen need to be honest with their customers, period! Not just out for a sale and a paycheck! If they would've told me that they had financed the balance of the furniture on a freaking credit card, that I would have to max out to buy, I would've walked out! No one in their right minds would've fell for that! They were deceitful and secretive about things that would've changed the entire sale! Can't return it, called the bank, I get someone from India on the line, neither of us understand each other! All I here is "you max your card out!"Well for one... I never had a card, two... I was never told about a card or who they approved my application thru. He just tells me im approved for anything in the store! Obvious lie looking back at everything. Never mentioned once that my true limit was $3500 after he found out! Sits there and allows me to max the RTG credit card out, knowing it's going to hurt my score! It's all planned ppl, now I'm forced to pay this bedroom suit off immediately if I want my credit to get back to normal, which it will still take 3 months or so! Its a deceitful and planned entrapment system they're running at ROOMS TO GO In Gulfport, Mississippi! No other way to look at it! I wish that the Executive branch would reach out to me here... this company has truly screwed my very important and planned goals I had for the first of the year, 2025! What can you do with a 590 credit score?! I need to speak to...

Update Despite the wonderful experience I had in store, dealing with customer service was a whole other story. For a background, I purchased a beautiful couch that my wife and I fell in love with. Upon receiving my couch the cushions were poorly stuffed/filled and the sofa was completely lumpy. I reached out to customer service to notify them about the condition of the sofa, and to also let them know about a missing piece to the lamp we purchased along with the sofa. The lamp issue was rectified in a timely manner, as for the sofa I was told to just sit on the couch and it will settle in time. After some months there was no change to the lumpiness. I called again, and was told to do the same. So we did as we were told, and months later no change. At this point, unknowingly my warranty expired. I didn’t panic, as I also purchased the extended warranty. Some reading this may ask why I didn’t call sooner… my wife and I both work long hours and it’s not something that was in front of our minds with all the things that go on in one’s life. Truth is on the first call RTG should have immediately sent new cushions. I was fortunate enough to meet Tara, a sales representative, here in the Gulfport location. She provided me with all the contact information and has since been jumping through hoops to make all this right. She had me reach out to customer service, only to find that they didn’t even document either call about the lumpy cushions. They then transferred me to the extended warranty department, there I was told that they don’t cover ware and tare, which the issue is a manufacturer defect, and since the lazy customer service representatives didn’t document the calls there was no proof the sofa arrived in the condition it is currently in. So they refused my claim. I was then transferred back to corporate, there I spoke to a gentleman who said he was going to send someone out to investigate and change the cushions… no one showed up. I took a day off work, and lost money to only be disappointed with a no show. So here I am, with a $2000 lumpy sofa, that looks like crap. I wasted money on an extended warranty, that’s covers nothing. If you ask my opinion, I jerked around so they didn’t have to fix the issue. It’s a shame because we are looking to purchase bedroom furniture and other pieces, but rooms to go will not be getting my business. And if you choose to shop here don’t purchase the extended warranty, it’s a bullsh*t gimmick to get more money from you, keep it in your pocket. The only reason I gave 2 stars, is because Tara is still fighting for me. I really appreciate her support and I would love to shop for furniture with her, but unless RTG makes right the situation… it...
Read moreSave your money and your sanity and shop someplace else! Everyone with this company LIES the furniture is poorly built! The 5 star ratings are begged for while in store. The buying process is pretty easy, but once that money is spent you better hope you have no problems.
My original rating was 5 stars, because our sales person asked us to review them and at the time I had no idea she was lying about the protection plan she sold us on. She lied about the quality of each piece. What was in the show room didn't look like what was delivered either. I would currently rate them 0 stars if it would allow me to. Please be cautious when dealing with Rooms To Go. If you do have a problem at this location Linda is the most helpful person we've dealt with, she has been as honest as she can be and seemingly helpful.
Latest update: This just keeps getting worse!!! RTG corporate said they were sending a 2nd tech to look at the table yesterday. Today a woman called and said that the president of RTG doesn't want to deal with us or the table because I left this review and contacted BBB.
update- do not buy into their extended warranty or accidentally coverage.... scam!!! Almost as bad as the experience with rooms to go. Linda has been helpful at RTG she seems to care more about what's going on then Jim the assistant manager. He has been deceptive the whole time. He makes promises he can't follow through on. He also said if it were only my husband living here he wouldn't be bothered by the imperfections!!!
RTG is replacing the couch and love seat so that is good news. Hopefully this was a one off problem. It's sounding like no one is going to fix the table being defective from factory, so I still wouldn't buy from them again!!!
Update: furniture is garbage. Haven't even had the couch a month before it started pealing. The table started changing colors, and wiping it with a cloth scratched it. The service tec said that it didn't have the protective varnish on it from factory. The manager insured he would get it taken care of. Got an email that we needed to do more leg work and a bunch of other bull. The quality is lacking!!! I will never buy anything else from rooms to go and I will make sure to let anyone who will listen know how terribly the situation was handled by rooms to go.
Original post as asked for by Miracle!!! Miracle is amazing!!! So very helpful!! She really is knowledgeable. She was a pleasure to work with and buy from!!! We would definitely recommend her and rooms to go after our experience with her. Update: while shopping with miracle seemed smooth, it turns out she lied about almost everything she sold us. Throughly...
