Michaels — Local services in Gulfport

Disappointed with Michaels Store Framing Department I drove a fair distance to this Michaels location to get help with framing some items. Unfortunately, there was no one in the framing department, and when I asked a store clerk for assistance, I was informed that no one works in that department on Wednesdays or Thursdays. I was shocked—how can an entire department be regularly shut down for two days a week without any notice to customers?

I completely respect employee days off, but this setup is extremely inconvenient. There were no signs posted, no online alerts, nothing to indicate that the department wouldn’t be staffed. As a result, I wasted time, energy, and gas on a blank trip—all because of a lack of basic communication.

Michaels, if staffing is an issue, then more hires or better scheduling may be in order. At the very least, a notice or sign at the entrance would go a long way toward helping customers plan accordingly. Transparency matters. Please do better. Your customers deserve more than confusion and...

1st timer. I have been a regular at Hobby Lobby for years but recently they moved 10 miles away! Maybe it's for the better. So I went to Michaels for the first time. The biggest difference I noticed (this location is at Crossroads mall) is the incredible selection of artificial flowers. The presentation is beautiful. There is a wonderful selection of colors and flow from light to dark. It becomes difficult to pick one because the next is even more beautiful. If artificial flowers are what you are looking for I highly recommend a trip to Michaels. I'm sure that each store is a bit different depending on location. I was not blown away with the acrylic paint selection but they have a decent array of small bottle acrylic craft pain. Either I am used to the old Hobby Lobby or the set up there was more eye appealing, Michaels is not as well stocked. This also may have to do with less square footage. We got there just before closing so we were hurried but the flowers sucked me in and I was not able to really look...

For all of us crafty girls we know Michael's is the gold standard for crafts they have selection ..selection.. selection quality beyond compare if they don't have it in store they try to order it for you in a timely manner their prices are fair they have outstanding sales ( I just got some beautiful flower 60% off ) and you can't beat that ... so ladies and men who find themselves longing to develop their skills from anywhere from sewing to decoupage ...wood crafting wood burning....or things with the kiddies... decorating cakes and on and on and on I encourage you to visit your local Michaels

and by the way Michael's I live in Picayune Mississippi we do not have a Michaels how about it... I alone would probably spend enough to justify you opening a branch thank you...
