My wife and I had planned a very quiet wedding date in June and were contemplating where to go for our honeymoon. As with most people, we headed to the internet to do our research. We wanted someplace relatively local, no more than a few hours away, which led us to decide on Cape Cod. The next obvious question was simply, where to stay? Again we went to the internet to start our search for an “adults only” destination. Hey it was our honeymoon, we just wanted to avoid kids. We went through numerous sites. Each time we put in the criteria that worked best for us and each time The Platinum Pebble Boutique Inn topped the list. It should be called “Nirvana”, but for purposes of this review I will simply refer to it as the Inn. The reviews were stellar, well written and thoughtful, so it was clear that the people who had written them were providing heartfelt feedback. So we booked for the day after the wedding. Upon arrival, we instantly took notice of how beautiful the grounds looked. Really, not even a blade of grass looked out of place. However, what really caught our eyes was how meticulously clean the Inn itself appeared. One look and I immediately though I could eat off of the floor. That CLEAN. We probably would have marveled even longer at the Inn’s cleanliness, had we not been greeted by Mike Hogan, the most down to earth and personable guy you could ever want to meet. But wait it gets better, because shortly thereafter, we were greeted by Stefanie Hogan, the other half of what I believe is the “Greatest Innkeeping Couple” ever. These folks are great. Real people, nice people, people’s people. The room itself was incredible. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN, a recurring theme throughout the Inn and this review. Great views, both of the front and rear of the property. It even had a nice terrace overlooking the rear of the property, including the pool and the gorgeous rose garden. The bathroom was luxurious and the shower has the BEST water pressure I have ever encountered at any hotel, motel, inn, B&B, etc. Breakfast is served every morning and you would be a fool if you did not partake. I myself am not really a breakfast person, nor is my wife. Yeah, that changed. We ate like kings and queens on the Cape, but the breakfast at the Inn was easily the best meal of the day. Even on the day that we were departing early for Nantucket, a nice to go breakfast was bagged up for us, complete with great coffee. I know this is starting to sound too good to be true, right? It is not, it’s just what to expect from the Inn and the Hogan’s. Did I mention how clean it is? Just checking. Throughout the entire trip out every need was seen to by the Hogan’s. Reservations for restaurants? Check. Booking of ferry tickets to Nantucket? Check. Itineraries tailored to OUR individual needs? Check. Good suggestions about where to eat? Check. Suggestions about where not to eat? Well let me just say, when Mike says there are better places to eat, please listen, the man knows what he is saying. As I said earlier, this was our honeymoon. In passing during one of my conversations with Mike and Stephanie, again I could talk to them for hours, I told them of the significance of this particular vacation. Later when we came back to our room, it was decorated to celebrate the occasion and there was a wonderful bottle of wine waiting to enjoy. The Inn itself would be reason alone to choose it over any other establishment on Cape Cod. Its centrally located to everything on the Cape. The amenities offered are incredible. But it is really the Hogan’s that make it the gem of Cape Cod. They are special people and do an incredible job. I really felt like we departed the Inn on our last days as friends. Our special vacation, was made extraordinary by these wonderful people and their incredible Inn. We will be back and anyone would be foolish to not consider the Platinum Pebble...
Read moreThe Platinum Pebble offers guests modern amenities in a historic Cape Cod home. The country setting refreshingly complements the "Capey" beach scene that comes to mind when picturing Cape Cod. Moreover, Cape Cod has numerous wooded areas and forests than visitors would expect. This is the charm of the Platinum Pebble--it's literally represents the best aspects of a true getaway set back from the hustle of the beach all while being very accessible to Cape God's signature attraction.
Boutique inns are far more personable than a resort or hotel due to their proprietors and the Platinum Pebble is no exception. Shawn and Sharon have been at the helm for less than a year, and have obviously exceeded their guests' service expectations. As natives of New England, Shawn and Sharon are keen to guiding their guests towards all experiences Cape Cod. Whether beach going, bike riding, kayaking, shopping, or touring, they are well-established and knowledgeable on the locale. He and Sharon are both open and critical to local experiences so as to ensure you embark on your day both nourished, refreshed, and prepared.
Shawn and Sharon are quite the accommodating couple. Sharon offers an health-conscious natural breakfast that enriches and energizes her guests. Her positive attitude seems to be cooked right into the food! Whether it be roasted vegetables, eggs made to order, fresh cut fruit, or steel cut oatmeal with seasonal accoutrements, you are certain to be ready for your day. If you choose to start your day without breakfast, Sharon will offer you a homemade banana loaf to take back to your room or along for your travels.
The other half of this duo is Shawn who is both warm and courteous. It's hard to turn down his charm when he offers you a glass of wine or a fresh ground cup of coffee. Shawn is both hardworking and a great listener so he naturally aims to please his guests. Either Shawn or Sharon will be there to check you in, greet you in the morning, and ask you about your stay before you set sail. And both are quite keen to making your stay exceptional. Let them know what you enjoyed and what you didn't. They are always improving!
While each is uniquely decorated, all Platinum Pebble rooms are inviting and soothing. Our room's modern decor complemented the wide planked wood floors and bright wainscot walls. Natural lighting can be tailored to your liking by adjusting the plantation blinds. The bed was made with Comfy branded linens and according to the inn's guest room guide, the mattresses are available for purchase should you choose to bring that same comfort to your own bedroom. We appreciated the nice touches such as the comfortable couch, bedside mats, and Cape Cod branded potato chips.
My wife and I felt very relaxed during our stay and left refreshed to rejoin the rest of our family over the holiday weekend. This was a new experience for us--staying in a modern boutique inn--and we were certainly pleased and fulfilled with our stay. We anticipate staying again in the summer months when we can enjoy the pool, outdoor fireplace, and patio area, and of course, enjoying what Shawn and Sharon...

We just can’t stop returning to The Platinum Pebble! We have stayed here THREE TIMES just in the past year…so this review is a long time in the making.
Initially, I was looking for a place to impress my Mister for a weekend away, but he’s a B&B Guy and I’m a Hotel Girl, so finding balance was key. I found The Platinum Pebble Boutique Inn online and have never been so grateful for the Internet!
Every time we arrive we are graciously welcomed, and it feels as if we’re visiting good friends. During check-in, Hogan is full of suggestions for plans to make the most of our time on the Cape, and Stefanie confirms our breakfast time for the next morning, as well as any dietary preferences or special needs. After we make these very important decisions, they are quick to make reservations for dining or any experience that we want to endeavor during our visit, making our entire stay stress-free.
And then there are the rooms. Each one is slightly different, and all are spectacular! The first thing we always notice is how immaculate everything is, the fabulous décor, and the use of space. The rooms are crisp, clean, and modern, but with special touches of whimsy. All of these qualities lend to a luxury that is unmatched.
Our first visit was in a room made complete with an on-demand gas fireplace and soaking tub. The combination of every feature created a deliciously cozy, private atmosphere. And the look on my Mister’s face was priceless…The Platinum Pebble helped me hit a HOME RUN!
Since our first stay, we have tried other rooms at The Platinum Pebble. Truly, all are equally wonderful. The difference maker for each is in the personal preference of where you enjoy yourself the most on the property.
And then there is BREAKFAST. We can’t wait to hear the knock at the door in the morning, always precisely on time. The table is then set with fresh pristine linens, a menu, and a daily timetable for the weather as well as high and low tides. (This is a special touch that is exceptionally important if you’re planning on beaching it or exploring the coast.) The world then becomes a foodie heaven made of sweet and savory deliciousness, and transforms the idea of breakfast into a stellar experience that springboards your day into greatness. Every meal is a balance of beautiful flavors and colors, and is always respectful to any individual needs.
At every turn, Hogan and Stefanie cater to every need that you may have with a smile and seemingly boundless energy. Simply put, if you are looking for an amazing getaway to Cape Cod, The Platinum Pebble Boutique Inn is where your day should begin and end. We won’t stay...
