Although the gentleman on the phone was polite and the large takeout order only took 40mins on Sunday night of Labor Day Weekend, I found a staple in my pad Thai with tofu and vegetables. Unfortunately I found it in my mouth and thankfully didn’t just swallow the hard piece and instead found it with my tongue.
My father ordered fried rice with vegetables and tofu but no tofu found in his dish. Rather minor in the grand scheme of things but finding a staple is unforgivable and I will not be dining here again nor ever recommend it out to anyone I know living here on the Cape.
Edit: I see that when you make an edit the restaurants response is deleted. Their response was the following: In regards to the staple you found in your food. A staple is used to secure the top of the paper bag for transporting your food home. According to your attached picture of the staple, the prongs of the staple are 90 degrees meaning the paper bag was abruptly pulled open. The staple would have fallen onto the plastic top and slid onto the edge of the food tin. When you took off the plastic cover it then fell into your food. We will start making a note for customers on all paper bags to "take caution when opening-staples are used".
Look at the disgusting feedback from the restaurant. Why would I lie about this?! What have I got to gain? There was a STAPLE in my mouth when eating your non authentic Thai food....
Read moreI have eaten at this restaurant several times in the last two months and love it. I have tried many of the dishes and have not been disappointed with any of them. The Owner is also the Chef and she prepares authentic, cooked to order, fresh and flavorful food. The Manager (at the counter) is very kind, helpful, and does a great job explaining each dish to his new customers and to those who are not familiar with Thai food. I noticed that someone put in a complaint recently about requesting “sauce on the side” at this establishment. I am amazed that she could be so disrespectful and thoughtless. Obviously, this was explained to her by the very knowledgeable staff before her order was taken. Apparently, she didn’t understand that the sauce is created in the process of combining and cooking all ingredients (even though this was explained to her.) My guess is that she is used to restaurants that use sauce bases (that have been made up days in advance) usually from a jar or a can (that are full of thickeners, salt, corn syrup and M.S.G.) This is a bit like asking for a Corned Beef Boiled Dinner (with the Corned Beef flavor on the side!) Good luck. Thank you Thai Cafe for REAL food, real flavor, high quality and care. I am very grateful to find a restaurant like yours that offers healthy, clean, and delicious alternatives to the many junk food restaurants...
Read moreUpdated review: after multiple return visits, I can confidently say that Thai Ocha Cafe is the best Thai food on Cape & South Shore!!!
Good spot to grab takeout. Restaurant is relatively new to the location 2+yrs ish, it is bright & immaculate inside. Service is consistently great, quick, very friendly employees and also polite (on the phone, as well as in person.)
We have had: the coconut shrimp (delicious); Thai rolls (good & not greasy); chicken satay (cooked perfectly); the pineapple fried rice with tofu (I love the concept using pineapple and raisins); hot & sour, wonton soup and my ultimate favorite Pho noodle soup (omg best soups EVER!!! Seriously cooked to perfection, delicious!! Wish I could figure out how to imitate the broth, it's so good I've literally had dreams about eating their pho ) yellow curry with tofu (fantastic, just the right amount of everything - yum!) and the cashew nut entree with crispy chicken is delicious! The veggies are always noticeably fresh; nothing ever tastes too salty or greasy - I'd even say everything is cooked to perfection.
Open year round, Thai Ocho has become a regular spot to indulge in quality take out. I highly suggest visiting to...
