DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES. If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. My family and I were at dinner last week when we informed our server that 2 members of our family had serious allergies (EOE- dairy allergy and if consumed the esophagus will close and food must be extracted in the ER). The server confirmed that their dishes were gluten free and dairy free. Approximately 10 minutes into my brother eating his “dairy free” meal, the server came over with a replacement of his meal stating the one he was currently eating may contain his allergen. She was then unable to explain the miscommunication and if the replacement was actually safe for him to eat or not. She was unable to answer all questions and was arguing with us about taking the meal off the bill. When I asked to speak with the manager, Josh, he took about 10 minutes to come to the table and acted like he could not have cared less. He handled the situation completely unprofessionally stating “well he was still eating so I assumed it wasn’t that serious, it’s not like you called the ambulance.” He refused to apologize, state that they were in the wrong, was talking about us to the coworkers, and screamed at the kitchen and the server without handling the situation as a leader should. As a restaurant you should absolutely not say the food is safe for individuals with allergens if it is not. You have one job, make the food that you serve enjoyable and safe for ALL of your costumers to eat. He is a sorry excuse for a manager and if you are someone who has any allergies or even wants to be treated fairly and respectfully by staff- I would highly suggest that you look elsewhere. This restaurant should be ashamed and should take some serious measures to better...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I went out for a late lunch/early dinner around 4. Hardly any people in the restaurant. It took about 45 minutes to get our 2 meals. Our server didn’t take away our dirty dish for our appetizer once finished and did not offer to refill our drinks in a timely manner. Once I received my food, the burger was well done instead of medium like I had ordered. The server did not check in to ask how the food was, so after about 15 minutes I went inside to ask for a manager and was told that no managers are present today. Eventually our waitress came over to our table and I explained that the burger was not cooked to how I had ordered. Afterwards, a manager (who was supposedly not working) came over and I explained the situation. She offered to have another burger come out promptly. After about 10-20 minutes another burger came out and once again, it was severely overcooked. Again, our server did not ask how the food was, nor did the manager. All the while, my girlfriend had finished her food and was watching me eat. Eventually I told the server that it was again overcooked. Fortunately, they did not charge me after I had asked for it to be taken off the bill. After about an hour and a half we left with an extremely unsatisfied experience regarding our service, wait times, and overcooked food.
Additionally, the young couple what was sitting next to us also experienced the same thing. The gentleman also had an overcooked burger and was unsatisfied with their survey (who was different than ours). They chatted with us briefly to share their complaints.
Would not go back again, despite the atmosphere of the...
Read moreHas potential but for our first visit last night, The Den was just OK. We came for the music and great reviews, and for sure the management has tried to set some good vibes with live music and the upscale feel to what is essentially a vibrant bar area on one side, and a small dining area on the other. Our server was a bit more than attentive, she was pretty anxious to get us to order, while the four of us were really wanting to chill a bit with drinks and apps before the dinner and enjoying the band. The wine list was decent, and the arugula pear salad was fresh and quite tasty, but predictably the entrees came quickly before we were done with the salad. I had the pulled pork tacos which would have been quite good save for the extreme amount of salt. My wife had the lobster risotto arancini which she thought was ok and would not repeat (a bit more lobster and spices please next time?). During dinner though, the strangest incident occurred when someone portraying himself as the manager came over and told us in no uncertain terms that our table had to be moved. Turns out he was another diner and a dad of one of the band members. I can’t fault the restaurant for his bad behavior but I found the management’s lack of control and supervision of the dining area to be a major failure. As we left later, we saw this bully clearing our table haphazardly including marching into the kitchen with the dishes (probably a major health violation) and pushing tables to the side in an attempt to further clear floor space in front of the band. Pretty strange night.... hopefully this is not a normal...
