Be aware of going to this Restaurant due to a very mean, unhappy, nasty waiter. My family and I have been going to this local place for years and have even had family celebrations here. Most of the staff, management and owners are wonderful. The food is very good and they are priced very well.
About 2 months ago we went in as we normally do and a waiter we did not get his name, can tell you he has an accent and cropped short crew cut hair, a little on the stocky side came to our table. It did look like he was having a very bad day. We asked for separate checks and he rolled his eyes and was visibly annoyed.
We then proceeded to order and he could not get our order straight and was huffing and puffing in anger. The last straw was when he rolled his eyes at my Mother not being able to decide. I did lose it and went to the owner and ask him to remove this very rude disrespectful waiter from helping us, which he did do so.
Fast forward to today, we went back hoping the other wait staff that we usually see would be there. This adolescent waiter was the only one serving today. We decided to go in and sit. He did come over and said "I am not going to serve you if you have a problem with me". He was very rude and nasty. We said no problem. Things we well we said please and thank you many times, he did do his job today although a very unhappy look on his face and never said a word. When we went to pay he refused to accept a tip from us and walked away.
This is the LAST time we will ever go back here. I will post this on all sites and tell everyone I know not to go back to Bensi of Hasbrouck Heights until this...
Read moreVery disappointing. My bf and I ordered food through Uber Eats. My bf ordered a pepperoni pie and he got cheese pizza. I ordered the chicken francaise and my portion was so small, I thought it was a kids size portion. My dinner cost $17.95 and they gave me such a small amount. We had to come out and drive to the restaurant to pick up the correct food. The restaurant does not offer delivery. This is the last thing we wanted to do. I showed some employee at the front desk my food and how small of a portion it was for $17.95 and all he kept saying was how they use top quality items and there’s nothing that they can do. I asked if I get a little more. They were not willing to help. I explained to him that this makes me not want to order anything else in the future because if I’m going to pay almost $20 for a little pasta and chicken meal, I can get a bigger portion for a cheaper price elsewhere. He didn’t seem to care that he was going to lose a customer. Bad business. Employers should always put the customer first. Read moreMy wife uses Bensi for almost every big party we host. Everything we have ever ordered has been perfectly cooked, tasty, and timely. The prices and portions are also resonable for the quality. Our guests always ask where we got the food from.
This past Xmas eve (2022) when they briefly showed they are actually human, but then quickly turned back into superheroes.
After some debate we called to complain that the food was not at the level we are accustomed to. We really just wanted to tell them we were disappointed and maybe expected a modest discount on the next order. Instead, they immediately offered to replace the entire order! The owner's adult son was apologetic, immediately took a problem solving (rather than defensive) approach and within the hour my guests were eating. He was clearly raised well as both a man and businessman.
You can get people in the door with good food, but you get loyalty with this type of service.
