We had our child's birthday here and could not recommend this place any less. It was disorganized, chaotic, expensive, and both management and corporate couldnât care less about redeeming their mistakesâthey never bothered to get back to us as promised.
We booked the Platinum Packageâand they gave our child Ultimate wristbands. I didnât realize the error until my husband asked why some of the kids werenât allowed into certain areas. By then, we were about 40 minutes into the party, and by the time I got a manager, it was 50 minutes inâalmost time to go into the party room. They offered to swap out the bracelets, which they did while the kids ate pizza and cake, but they were essentially useless since the party was basically over by the time the kids ate. They offered no other compensationâlike refunding the $32 we spent on TWO pitchers of Red Dye fruit punch or the two additional cooked-from-frozen pizzas that nobody even ate.
The issues extended beyond the package mix-up. There was no staff member available at the entrance to assist with check-in, leaving several parents and children confused and struggling to find help. Additionally, long lines for attractions like the zip line and rock climbing walls meant that many kids, despite supposedly having access through the top package, ended up waiting and being turned awayâa significant waste of time.
While the on-site manager (John?) was courteous, he was unable (or unwilling) to offer a satisfactory remedy for the numerous oversights. My subsequent attempts to contact both corporate and the Hazlet location resulted in a conversation with a staff member whose lack of promised follow-up left us feeling even more frustrated.
Furthermore, certain play areas appeared to pose safety risks due to inadequate staffing and overcrowding, and the condition of the bathrooms was unacceptableâsubpar facilities are not something youâd expect when hosting a...
Read moreMy children love it at Urban Air Hazlet. The staff is absolutely the best!!! Especially Gabby at the cafe. She made us feel understood and valued. We have severe food allergies and she made sure to accommodate us. She was personable, kind, and thorough. Gabby is outstanding!!! There is so much to do at this location. My children were not bored once and getting them to leave willingly was most difficult because they were having so much fun. The staff works hard to keep the facility clean, but there are a lot of people (especially on weekends) that they are trying to clean up after. The bathrooms were clean. The dining area was comfortable. The cafe has great food options that actually taste good. The pricing isn't bad either. The staff works hard to keep the cafe area clean but people not cleaning up after themselves makes this a harder process. The attractions provide a lot of options for the kids to choose from. The overall pricing is a little expensive but the package provides a lot for the participant so it's worth it. The only 2 negative things I have to say are: 1. The check in process was awful because a lot of people arrived for parties and there were only a few kiosks to accommodate everyone. Also, if you sign your waivers before going remember the phone number you use because it is what you need to check in on the kiosk which caused so many people issues making the wait longer... 2. I wish there was better security at the front door to keep our kids safe. There are a lot of people and crowds within. The children run around on their own. I wish there was a way to ensure the younger children are not taken out by a stranger or exit in their own because no one mans the door. With all of that said, it is an excellent experience and my family and I highly recommend...
Read moreNice place.....just know what you're getting. This is an activity center with a relatively small amount of trampolines. There is also laser tag, junior ninja warrior courses, smaller rock climbing walls, Ziplines, obstacle courses, dodgeball, VR, and a few other things.
This is a really nice place for the 14 and under crowd. There are a few teenagers that partake, but the majority of the activities are below their grade level. If you want a more adult and teenager appropriate place, head to Airplay about 4 miles north on 35.
That said, I have 2 girls, soon to be 10 and 12 that have memberships to Urban Air. Urban Air is priced so that if you plan on attending more than a few times a year, you're better off with a membership. There are tiers to day passes and memberships that I don't really agree with. You don't really get much unless you get the top tier.
You need to sign up for a year and it is billed monthly. The top membership includes all of the activities, unlimited visits, and a free slice of (decent Domino's tier) pizza and a snack. We take our kids once a week or so for an hour or 2 after school as we live very close. They get to eat and it's usually pretty empty during the week. Weekends are obviously busier with lots of birthday parties.
So yeah, the place is great for us. I can see parents being a little sticker shocked for the price of a single visit with multiple kids or being disappointed with the lack of activities for older or even very young kids. Definitely a great place for ages 6 to 14.
The staff has always been great. It's a little understaffed during the week as you might need to flag down someone to open up laser tag or tend to the Zipline if there's only a handful of kids there later in the day. It's...
