I know I realize weekends are the best time for a bakery, but even their biscotti selection where it was huge at one time that I remember was like nonexistent anyway the mini can always enlarge cannolis already filled in the case and they looked like they had a tinge of yellow. I asked the girl if she filled them today she said somewhere filled today some worried so I asked for a dozen of the mini cannolis half chocolate half regular, but please give me the ones that are filled today because I had an issue with this bakery years ago. I bought cannolis and they was so soft The shelves they were disgusting anyway she goes to get them then since she looks at me she goes you know what I’ll fill them myself for you so she did. She was very nice. Anyway it doesn’t mini and I mean they’re real mini cannolis was $36 insane Anyway when I got them home, the shells were awesome. They’re nice and crisp. The inside of the cannoli didn’t taste like cream. I guess they’re using skim milk or something and no Gotha for the filling I will never ever ever ever ever ever ever again. Go back there, but the young girl there was very nice and she did the right thing Unfortunately, what they’re selling. There is disgusting and way way way...

use real whipped cream on ur cakes and pies and not gross butter cream, put a few strawberries on top of the cake "not one" and put real strawberries and a quality filling in between layers of cake like most quality bakeries do and pay ur own vig to the credit card companies we have our own vig to pay of 28% we don't need to pay urs also and make it 31.9 %... 34.00 for a strawberry shortcake that my family in staten island wouldn't touch and sent it home with me not to mention the whole table of people making fun all night about New Jersey hillbillies don't know any better and think thats good cake, i lived in Brooklyn for 33 years, 13 years in staten island and 23 yrs in N.J. and there is no comparison to the quality of bakeries and pizza shops in staten island and Brooklyn, the cakes in shoprite and Costco are better then yours and 1/2 the price but i chose to buy two quality cakes from ur bakery not to look cheap and was very disappointed and embarrassed, i paid 68.00 for two cakes my family sent home with me, i suggest in ur free time to go and purchase a strawberry shortcake from 18th ave or court st in Brooklyn or even staten island and learn how to do it right, i don't mind paying a high price for something good. its not all about looks and appearance it also has to taste delicious which it's far from....not only was it GROSS also a RIPOFF and a terrible waste of 68.00 + 2.00 tip 70 bucks for crap...

Unfortunately my experience with Normandy Bakery in Hazlet, New Jersey was a terrible one. I gave a Christmas party on December 16th and had visited the bakery the night before to pick up all my bakery goods for the party and family breakfast the following morning. The employee behind the counter absolutely refused to sell a black forest cake I chose and kept insisting I buy another cake placed in back of the tray. There was three placed in a row on the tray. I explained to the employee I was giving a Christmas party tomorrow and was looking for items with the best presentation and would like this cake. The employee told me I could not have that cake as they rotate the cakes and had to buy the one placed in the back of the tray. I asked the employee "Are you selling a stale cake for my party?" I was then told "All the cakes were the same." Then I would like to have the cake I chose and again I was met with "No, you cannot have that cake." As the employee refused to sell the cake I wanted, I decided to leave for another bakery for my goods and the employee sarcastically wished as I left "Happy Holidays!"

During the days prior to this incident, I had visited many shops (florist, fishery, butcher, grocers) and had met the most kind, over helpful individuals who had made the preparations such a delight, and a pleasure to had met them. I wish I could say the same for...

Not a pleasant experience at all. Went to order a cake for a 60th bday. Was told they don't have cake toppers & suggested I go to a party store, buy one & bring it back. Went back with my cake topper & was told by another employee it was too big for that size cake & why did I buy such a big one when they sold a smaller version! Then there was so much commotion about writing on the cake because of my large topper that would hang over the sides. She wasn't clear that they had to place the topper in the middle of the cake because of its size. I thought they could place it at the top of the cake & then write underneath. The owner had to come out & explain. I agreed to place the topper in the middle with writing along the bottom of the board. I wanted the cake to look pretty as it was for a 60th birthday. I rec'd no direction from the staff other than a blank stare & a suggestion of a border along the top & bottom of the cake. I wanted some color, but was told nothing would match the gold topper. This is what I got along with a HUGE GASH in the frosting! And as you can see, there was room for writing on the cake & the topper DOESN'T hang over. I thought they were known for their cakes! This looks terrible, it is just embarrassing.

My absolute favorite bakery!! You feel like you're in heaven the moment you walk in and smell the wonderful scents of the fresh bread and cakes and cookies of all shapes, sizes and flavors. I've tried pignolia cookies from so many different bakeries and without a doubt theirs is the absolute BEST I've ever had! Their cheese danish and hamantash are to die for. They always have the cutest designed cupcakes that my daughter LOVES, and also have a great assortment of sugar free cookies. I can't say enough good things about this place! Even after moving a half hour away I still make the trip when I'm craving pignolia cookies. My only con (and definitely not a big enough one to deduct a point) is they used to have a loyalty card service that I don't believe they use anymore. It was a sort of pad you entered your phone number on and counted the amount of visits. The last few times I went it wasn't working, and then when I went in the other day I didn't notice if it was still there or not. Wish they would bring that back or have a different type of loyalty card.

Normandie has been one of our favorite local bakeries, the treats are always delicious and fresh. Last year we had asked if they could re-create the top layer of our wedding cake, and sent them our original cake. Not only does it look identical, but it tastes even better than where our wedding cake was originally from (a popular bakery in SI). We ordered the cake again this year, and again, they didn’t disappoint! A yearly tradition that’s much more convenient and super delicious! Highly recommend. I would definitely order cakes here for any occasion in the future!
