Noteworthy in that Toys-R-Us is an anchor store, although it would be on my list of possible future store closures as that chain is in bankruptcy, and sales of traditional toys continue to plumb new depths. The parking lot is in major need of being resurfaced, so you better watch out that you not only hit one of the smartphone-addled Holmdel/Hazlet residents oblivious to your car while they walk back and forth to their own, but that you also don't see one (or both!) front wheels fall into a gaping pothole, a souvenier of a wheel realignment, to commemorate your visit to Hazlet Plaza. There is also a Walgreens here (lousy layout and a poor guest experience) and an Italian bakery, where the young people behind the counter are very enthusiastic and proud of their baked goods (which seem to all be baked ... without butter? We thought everything tasted like paper, so I don't know what's missing among the "secret ingredients"). There are some other stores here, but its completely forgettable. Until recently, the Getty Gasoline Station on the Rte 35 facing side of the parking lot had same-price (cash or credit) gasoline, which was nice, and it had been some of the lowest priced...
Read moreThe plaza offers an inviting and appealing atmosphere for visitors, making it a popular gathering spot within the community. However, one significant area for improvement is the signage throughout the area. Currently, the existing sign lacks clarity and modernity, which could be hindering potential visitors from recognizing the plaza's unique offerings.
Installing a new, well-designed sign would not only enhance visibility from the surrounding streets but also reinforce the overall aesthetic of the plaza. A fresh, contemporary sign could incorporate elements such as vibrant colors and clear graphics that reflect the character of the plaza. This would not only attract more foot traffic but also contribute to a positive impression of the plaza, ultimately elevating its reputation as a desirable destination for both locals and tourists alike. By investing in an updated sign, the plaza would be taking a significant step towards maximizing its potential and encouraging greater community engagement. They also need a...
Read moreHad to check out the hype. What an interesting store. Beauty and health section is 4 stars. You will run into an item from your childhood. Prices are definitely cheap. Nice area to shop with harbor freight, Walgreens, Burlington, Aldi and a new wawa. But...... it is an hour away from nyc, 90% of items are about to expire. Best one I found was 11/24. Hit rush hour traffic even though I left at 7am. Rte 50,(??) has a drawbridge that works (15min wait). The distance was too great for the lack of unexpired items. When the Wawa opens that will only be half a star. Sooooo...... 3 stars for an outsider, 4 stars...
