What a wonderful place! We made a quick one-day trip to Hermann, and chose the Captain Wohlt Inn for our lodging. The room was beautifully done, with modern fixtures in a 150 year old building. The bed was extra comfortable, and the bedding and towels were outstanding. It was a chilly May day, and when we arrived back from our day exploring the town, Brant had a nice fire going in the fire pit in the beautiful garden. He even had the s'mores kit ready for us. The highlight of the stay was the fantastic breakfast! Al is a transplanted 'big city' chef who prepared an outstanding meal. Mary does the baking, and we got fresh scones and cookies. UPDATE: August 2022: Breakfast is now delivered to your room. Don't be put off by the view from the street! Take the stone staircase up from the sidewalk and you'll find yourself in the garden. If you are walking from downtown, it is easier to access from the alley between 2nd and 3rd streets.

Amazing, stellar, exceptional! Me and my mother stayed here for a wedding at another venue and we decided to make a little vacation out of our time. Checking in was super easy and Brant was amazing about letting us know recommendations for the area. The outside area was beautiful and perfect for a relaxing. From the outside, the building looks unassuming and historical, but the inside of the rooms were full renovated and had all the latest room luxuries you could ask for. Service was great and the included breakfast (pictured) tasted phenomenal! Service was easy and at request, and Brant was amazing at being communicative. I can’t say enough about how lovely every little details including the delicious cookies made our stay outstanding! Definitely a place I would love to stay at again and recommend fully to others!

The Captain Wohlt Inn Suites is a must stay! We were in the Sammons Suite and were very impressed. Brant was a great host. He not only allowed for a very late arrival but greeted us with a fire going in the fire pit and smores. You can tell he takes great pride in his properties and the breakfast that he serves. Our room was exceptionally clean and the breakfasts were very filling and absolutely delish! Unlike many of the B&B's his is almost like a small little resort. The outdoor area with fire pits, strung lights, and little seating areas makes it very unique. You can stay to yourselves and drink some wine or gather and talk with other guests. It is very pretty and relaxing. I would consider my husband and I pretty picky people and we definitely had a five star weekend and will be back again very soon.

I've never stayed in a B&B this awful, tho' I've stayed in many, many. My complaints pertain to their Market Street property in which they offer 2 adjoining bedrooms to sleep 4: The air mattress leaked and wouldn't hold air for an hour. It was horribly uncomfortable to feel the sofa-bed frame under you all night long. In both rooms, there were no bedside tables, nor electric outlets near enough to have your phone within reach There was no surface in the bathroom for toiletries except the already crowded toilet tank, though there were TWO available spaces for small tables the entry to the bathroom was through the main bedroom then a small vestibule, which is not great for many who would use these two rooms. (Btw, there is room for a doorway from the second bedroom into that vestibule - not a major modification but one that many guests would appreciate.) Breakfast was not served at the requested time, though it was delivered shortly after I called them. The dining room was cold and the breakfast (an egg & cheese burrito, 2 sausage links, diced fruit, and a small bottle of water) which came in a clam-shell was not heated sufficiently A Keurig, with assorted K-cups, sugar, creamer, and paper coffee cups was provided, but there were no...

At check in I met with Brant who gave us a map of the town, some local places to visit and where some things not listed on the map were located. The room was nice, even had an umbrella provided in the room in case it rained during the stay! I haven’t seen that little detail anywhere else so I thought that was pretty neat! Plenty of coffee for the Keurig, also plenty of cream, sweetener options, and decaf. The mini fridge in the room was clean. The microwave was clean. The bed and pillows were amazing and cozy! Friday night there was live music and the performer was great. There were heaters and even blankets provided if you needed one. The resident dog was very friendly. Had to park on the street, but really not an issue as we showed up right around check in time and were actually able to park right in front of our private entrance room. Breakfast was delicious (that was also a cool detail relayed at check in: the time our room’s breakfast would be delivered to our door-no having to guess when it would show up). Since there is probably a lot of drinking happening while in Hermann, the breakfast was perfect for the morning after: lots of protein and carbs and bottled water. We brought our dog, she also approved of the accommodations. Overall, very happy...

I called on a Thursday for a romantic Saturday stay, and then on Friday our area received freezing rain and travel was treacherous. I tried to reschedule for the following weekend and it was ‘not negotiable’ as he said I could get ‘credit only’ for Monday through Thursday and not another weekend. He also failed to disclose that they were doing major renovations and had a roll off dumpster parked right in front of our room, so when you looked out your unit, the view was a dumpster. Additionally, the room had been renovated and no longer had the “feel” of a quaint b/b, instead it had a sterile feel to the room like a doctors office, all gray, with a bathroom that had a sliding door that offered no privacy as you can hear the person using it! Moreover, the mattress was so hard that it didn’t give an inch when you sat on it and was very uncomfortable. They provided cookies in a paper sack in the room that were so hard that you would break a tooth trying to eat this, so I’m not sure how long they had been there. I see that this place has received great reviews in the past, and I even stayed here many years ago and it was great! It must be under new management. We didn’t even stay the night and drove home as it was so...
