Lionheart Whiskey Co. — Local services in Hermann

I am a frequent Hermann visitor. I get SO excited when new places open up and always look forward to visiting them. Two years ago my best friend (and frequent Hermann traveler as well) and I stopped into Lionheart for a visit. And that wasn’t the last time. I’ve been at least four times in the last two years and it is always a must stop on our visits. First off, the vibe and the aesthetic of the place is top notch. As someone who was never a whiskey fan ( thanks college days ), I was very hesitant to stop in. The guided tasting really helps you learn and appreciate the whole process. The campfire old fashioned…..OMG!! I dreeeaaammm about that thing. I also highly suggest doing a tour of the place as well. Clayton is a wealth of knowledge. I really enjoy chatting with him whenever I am in there. Seriously, next time you’re in Hermann, make this a must do. I can’t wait to be back this fall. We stopped in LionHeart because my husband is a huge whiskey fan, I am not. Clayton, the owner, told me he’d change my mind on whiskey- I told him I’d try but I’m almost always drink beer. We were in Hermann 4 days and we went to LionHeart 3 of those days (1 day our liver needed rest). Clayton, did not lie! He won my heart with the Sugarplum smash, I had at least 2 each time we stopped in. My husband said it was the best whiskey and best drinks he’s ever had! Clayton was super fun and we loved his story of how LionHeart came about. We ran into multiple people through out the week who agreed that they had the best whiskey in town! I’ve only recently began to enjoy whiskey cocktails, enjoying it mostly straight…neat or on the rocks. I had a Lionheart old fashioned at a community concert event they were sponsoring last weekend and my tastebuds were blown away! I had to visit their facility so I could buy the ingredients and take them home. It’s a beautiful unpretentious space with the most delightful, informative and friendly people. Next time I hope to have time for a proper tasting. I can’t wait to mix up some drinks with this and share with friends. Of course, it is also fantastic straight 😉.
